Gutted he didn’t come on in the 89th minute to change the game along with Greenwood

He wasn't on the bench.
This midget needs to play next game, even 20 mins.
Hysteria over not playing vs fecking wolves (they're not shit at home)
Sarcasm escapes you huh
Wolves are average at best. Stop this overrating just because they fluked a draw against City last year. You seen them tonight, a horribly average side
Have a sneaking feeling he might start. I hope so too.
Fair enough he wasn’t in the squad for Chelsea and wolves really
Not a fan of his corners, but I like his freekicks that he tries to score.

Based on some pre seasons friendlies?experience and reputation, which means feck all currently. I guess with Shaw and McTominay, we just dont have better alternatives. But for Lingard and Mata, we have.
Think his technical elegance eroded a bit as he aged. Could be due to a slight growth spurt and even though he was already small to begin with, could improve as he gets more and more used to his adult body.WTF his ball control and the way he turns are quite frankly amazing. I love the way he shifts it side to side while moving forwards, it's just impossible to predict.
What a player
On this forum its hard to tell whats a joke and whats not to be honest.
Spot on. When Gomes is on form, he can play anyone in the world based on talent alone. Playing in the first couple of games of the PL is not a must right now, if he's not on form yesterday, they'd literally be throwing him to the Wolves. The building up of Gomes in here is reaching frightening proportions. It’s not him I’m worried for though. He’ll be well guided and protected by the coaching staff. It’s half of you lot. Already losing your marbles when he doesn’t play (despite being 18); frothing at the mouth that he’ll leave us if he doesn’t get significant game time; and using his decent preseason performances as a stick to beat every other player who may have the temerity to play in his place.
But where it’ll drive some of you to the loony bin, is when he plays and has a bad game. I don’t know how some of you will cope. No doubt at least half of those who have championed him as the greatest player since Maradona, will be the same ones to call him too small or crap after one bad game.
This attitude towards over hyping young players who have barely played, and then tearing them down when they hit a rough patch, has got to stop. Why do we do it with virtually every prospect we have?
What does Angel have to do to get a start? Today would have been perfect. Does he need to sign his contract first?
Yeah that's a little odd.One thing I’m a bit confused about is why he missed the U23 match if he wasn’t going to even make the bench today. Anyone got any ideas?
We've had two very difficult fixtures to start the season. I think any manager should be allowed to opt for caution in these two opening games. Next three though - Palace, Southampton and Liecester - are all games we should go into full of confidence, and hence take bold forward minded decisions. It's a joke how some of the players are getting minutes ahead of him.
Look, the whole cycle of overhauling young players and then tearing them down is sadly the result of emotional fans, and in general it cannot be changed. The building up of Gomes in here is reaching frightening proportions. Absolutely, and it's the same with Tuanzebe. They don't have 5 full games between them but they're being hyped up as the saviours of our season. They're both exciting prospects but have so far done absolutely nothing to suggest they're ready to be thrown into a Premier League starting lineup. They need to come in slowly over the course of the season and then we will see how good they really are. I'd like to see him regularly on the bench but that's about it for now.
I disagree that it won't hurt him, this over-hyping eventually seeps into the media and has had an effect on plenty of our players in the past. All it takes is one good game and he'll be all over the newspapers.
Its not so much overhyping the player, its peoples frustrations that we dont play this lad when he probably cant be much worse than what lingard and mata offer. His pre season gametime has shown utd fans the potential he has, which is a lot more exciting than lingard and mata.
