I'm not even on the Gomes hype train, he hasn't played any senior competitive football yet, but I'd like to see him on the bench over Mata who offers the square root of feck all these days, we might as well give him a try.
Hes has a little, not a full 90 but hes played for the first team in a couple of games for limited minutes
His time will come. Ole obviously has no qualms about fielding youth - I doubt he's keeping him out for reasons other than his ability to contribute more than players in the selected squad. Seems more plausabile he will be selected in easy home games or cup games intiially.

If I was Gomes and watch absolute dross in Lingard playing 80 minutes after being shit in the last game, then Juan Mata comes on and can’t take a corner properly, I’d want to leave. I mean what in the absolute feck are those 2 offerings that Angel can’t?

He is going to get chances when the schedule picks up after the break... 6 europa games midweek, and if he does as well as fans seem certain of in typically easier games im sure he will play over the christmas period when we have all those games. I don't see the need to hit the panic button yet, the schedule is very very light right now and gets very very heavy and we have such a thin squad

You're a disgrace. I'll vouch that in games like today (one's we dominate) he'd have created so much more than James or Lingard. No one is Messi but Messi but Gomes showed in preseason that he was our most Barca player (irony). The lad would have had a field day today and he almost certainly would have helped us win the game. Why not play him in under 23s, Chong too, they have had no games now for a while so when they finally get a chance they will be well off the pace, perform bad and then not be seen again for months. Some of the players stealing a living at this club do not not provide anything better than these kids could.
