Apparently Bacra have told Benfica to name their price for Di Maria.
I know. I was just answering Ekeke's question of who else is out there who plays on the left and is top draw. Will be joining Madrid.
Well if they do get him there is always David SilvaApparently Bacra have told Benfica to name their price for Di Maria.
The thing is, Nani went for 18m even though he was unproven, Angel Di Maria is an Argie regular and has been one of the most consistent players for them. Think the 25m price tag is unavoidable unless Benfica are going bankrupt.
After this video, I'm also jumping on the muppet bandwagon for this guy.
Shame thought we actually had a chance of getting this lad but unless Torres goes to Barca can't see us getting him.
There's always one that thinks we're always second best to the other teams when going for a player!!
He's not even close to being a regular for Argentina. It's like saying Defoe's a regular for England.
Gabriel Obertan was the topic of that post and the question about crossing with his left foot. Basically, he doesnt do it so we dont know what his delivery from the left is like.
My bad, haven't seen Obertan really go for a cross yet but his link up play ( Short passing ) looks better than Nani's.
Whatever works though really, its no worse to put Evra in and Evra puts in a good cross and we score, than for Obertan to beat his man and cross and we score. It could just lead to being a bit more predictable.
Di Maria is a class player and who ever gets him will be very lucky indeed.
From what i've seen he's got ability, frustrating at times but is young and will only improve.
Expect a big world cup from this lad. If anyone read the VIckery column on the BBC website they'll know what i'm talking about. The tactics of Argentina are set up for Di Maria, somewhat inadvertantly but basically as Messi is crowded at every opportunity he lays the ball of for Veron to cross field it into the space left on the left for Di Maria to expoit with his pace.
How many games has he playing for them lately ? I'm sure it is alot, seen him in nearly every match... Name a better Argie Left winger ( Messi plays on the right and centre for them )
Still have that lingering worry he'll feck us up the arse with a glass bottle first chance he gets...
I don't think he's started a competitive game for Argentina yet, if he has, it's been no more than a couple.
Maradona rates him pretty highly I am sure he will start from the left.. They don't have any better option than him for the left IMO..
Anyone watch Benfica often ? I mean, from the youtube clips, his having a great season and certainly has upped his value.
So is there any truth that this lad dreams of playing for Real Madrid via a quick detour to us?
Where the hell have you been, i've been spouting shite all weekend with no backup.
He sounds like something from the First Epistle to the Thessalonians, may have a girly name, and some of you reading right now may never have heard of him, but 22 year old Angel Di Maria is about to become the hottest property in world football, according to sources in Portugal.
Benfica clubman and fanatic Pedro Gonçalves Cabido Mota, speaking last night to BackPageFootball, thinks the young Argentine is the real deal.

Off The Cuff – Hottest property in world football? – Back Page Football
Looks like a slightly improved version of Maxi Rodriguez. If the latter went to Liverpool for less than 15 mil why should anyone in their right frame of mind spunk out more than that for Di Maria? Granted he has age on his side but I struggle to see how he could cope with the physical rigours of the Premier League.

He scored one. Eto'o scored the other. He did well against Everton, Zola had no problem dealing with the all might pace and power of the PL ? Park Looked light weight ? I mean, Maxi was for 4m compensation ( The initial fee was zero due to the Bosnan rule ) I mean physical rigours of the PL is overrated for me, any where in the world you'd find teams that use muscle, not to mention Valladolid Vs. Ronaldo where they practically tried to take off his foot. If a player is class, he is class. Messi is light weight but he scored 2 goals at our monstorous defense ( which practically is the best defense in the world ) I dont' see your point that right.
