See the stock price is down, wonder if it'll shoot up on the announcement or if traders aren't happy at our spending.

they were warned months ago on an investor call that we were going to spend big during the summer

Stock prices probably already reflect to a certain extent the expectation that the club will spend. I imagine it won't actually have a massive impact on the stock price. And also since the fee is agreed, any impact of the transfer will most likely already have been incorprated into the stock price.

I think they're obliged to make public any significant news which can have a material affect on the share price. Would have thought this fits the bill. Don't think there's any obligation to wait until the exchange is open to do so, mind you.

SSN have been running the same shit for the past three hours. He is at the training ground and more details on the way.

What do you want them to do, storm the gate and demand to see Di Maria and Woody?

It'll happen when it happens.

Yeah it goes back to the Mussolini era where he wanted to use football as a means to rise to and consolidate power. They had a policy of 'oriundi' whereby they poached foreign players and nationalized them as Italians. They did this to Argentinian players Luisito Monti, Raimundo Orsi and Enrico Guaita. In fact Argentina in 1934 sent a weak team to the world cup in Italy, in fear of Italy poaching their best players. Italy won the World Cup that year rather controversially. However, after 1966 they stopped this policy due to an abysmal performance in the tournament and banned foreign players in the Italian league till 1980. The most recent Argentinian oriundi case is Camoranesi who won the world cup with Italy in 2006.

Not sure if Di Maria is related to this but sure there must be a link somewhere with his relative or something.

Can you verify @Marcosdeto. You did make a post about Di Maria being your brother and that you are now responsible for him didn't you ;)

yep, according to the sports paper "ole" Di María has an italian passport

here's the link:
http://www.ole.com.ar/futbol-internacional/Espana-Real_Madrid-Di_Maria-Mourinho_0_268173256.html

here´s the phrase where it's said that
"Di María tenía todo arreglado con el equipo español. El zurdo de 22 años tiene pasaporte italiano, por lo que no ocuparía plaza de extranjero."

here´s the translation
"Di María had everything set with the spaniar team. The left legged of 22 years old has an italian passport, so he doesnt occupy a foreign place"

he is not my brother, if he fails, it's van gal's and di marías fault only!

I'm sure it's only the last few years transfers have become this drawn out! It's the Jim White effect!

Welcome Angel! :)

He has left the training ground, the club photographer was seen entering a hotel in Manchester with a shirt tucked under his arm, if you have not got your cock out yet then now is the time.

Has now left the training ground.. surely only a matter of time now?

He's left the training ground. It's over. He's surely going to PSG now. Or City. He obviously saw Tom Cleverley training and thought he'd rather hang about with James Milner.

Yesterday's close was the highest we've been since the beginning of August. Just looking at normal daily fluctuation. Might expect a small bounce on an announcement - just a result of reminding investors that we exist.
