Fantastic buy. Really wouldn't have believed we'd have got him a few weeks ago so it's definitely a coup for the club regardless of the fee. Should be playing at the elite level for at least another 5 years.

Still hope he's not the last signing we make though. He's not addressing our biggest weaknesses at all.
 
Strange they haven't figured out image rights yet ? It's usually done with wages and when the personal terms are discussed.

So now what if we don't find a agreement ? Surely that would have been sorted out already.
 
My guess. They won't be "haggling over" image rights. They'll be making sure the most tax efficient set of contracts are in place. An Argentinian player who's been living in Spain and moves to the UK has three tax jurisdictions to contend with and he probably has a company in Portugal as well. Timing can be critical.

He is capable though. His best performances for Madrid came last year in midfield. He was world class last year in midfield and much better there than he was in his previous three years on the wing, even though he was very good there too.

I'm glad he's leaving La Liga from my own selfish perspective being a Barça fan. How much do you think Real Madrid will miss him in the bigger games?

What utter nonsense. We have 3 main weaknesses, CB/defence, CM and Wings. He addresses at least one of those key areas and is able to assist in the CM dept too. You really mean to tell me that having Valencia and Young on the wings is 'not one of our biggest weaknesses'?

Point taken. It would be fantastic if he could perform that role for us alongside a Mata/Kagawa/Herrera for sure.

Feck sake calm down. :lol:

Our defence and midfield is for me more at fault than anything with our wingers, despite how mediocre they are. At best I'll concede the wingers might be just as bad at the defence but the midfield is comfortably ahead of all others area, unless you've been living on the moon for the last five years.
