No, if they waste their money such, they didnt deserve to have it. Not when it could go on things much better.

So someone suffering from alcoholism, a crippling mental disorder, doesn't deserve to have money he/she has worked for and earned?

Christ.

Maybe we could just deprive all people suffering from addiction of oxygen too?

Nonsense ,they deserved the money because they worked for it, now they can't complain if their lifes didn't turned well.

As for Chelsea and City spendings, i never cared and i probably never will. It's not fair for the teams they were competing with but that doesn't change anything for United, except maybe a bigger tv rights cheque.

You do realise once this deal is done you can never use money as a tool to beat us and City ever again Mr Smashing the British transfer record! ;)

I hate when people say this. The obvious difference between us and football clubs/business ventures like Chelsea, City, PSG etc is that we are spending OUR money which the club earned largely due to success on the pitch. If it weren't for their respective takeovers Chelsea and City would still be without a league title for the last few decades. The likes of City and Chelsea are an example of all that's wrong with football. Money shouldn't play such a significant role in the game. If FFP is enforced properly I can see City and Chelsea falling back into the positions they once occupied within the next 5-10 years and the natural order of us, Arsenal and Liverpool being the top teams in England will be restored.

According to the sky reporter outside carrington Gary Cotterill, he will sign for a "world record British fee" :wenger:

Sky Sports just said Di Maria will arrive today and will have medical tomorrow. Man utd are still training right now, maybe Di Maria will meet with LVG today.

FFP wont affect us because we arent in the same bracket as City and PSG, being the original sugar daddy club we have the advantage of stability.

Monaco Malaga and QPR have all tried and failed this.

We made profit a few seasons ago and have done extremely well in this window to do all our dealings and barely actually spend anything.

You can tell FFP has affected City and PSG because of Di Maria, and because Citys only major signing all summer has been Mangala.

What does Spain financial issues have to do with anything here. Madrid is in debt just like United, but the club actually makes money (you know, profit at the end of the fiscal year), just like United.

So were's the difference?

I don't think you realize the difference between United, Arsenal, Madrid, Barca, Bayern on one side and Chelsea, City, PSG on the other. You see, the latter three wouldn't be able to function like they do in normal economic circumstances because no bank would loan them the money to buy these expensive players, simply because they would never be able to pay them back. That's the reason why FFP has been introduced, because those three would eventually make life impossible for the clubs like United or Madrid. They would never need to balance the books and all the other honest living clubs would pay the price for that.

Btw, do you know that even the most successful companies on fortune 500 are almost all in some kind of debt. Debt by itself is not good or bad, debt is normal. It's what enables us to live a better life and it enables the clubs we support to sign top players.....and it also makes the world go round.
Debt created by loans from the Spanish Government whilst the country is in turmoil, all for players. You seem to not know the difference between a business loan and a private loan.

A certain £50m for Luiz helped with all that, though I do agree with you that Chelsea are more than likely here to stay. The only way Chelsea disappear is if Abramovich pulled all out and left Chelsea for dead, perhaps that's wishful thinking.

I'm starting to get a bit worried, wasn't he supposed to be at Manchester by now? There's usually plenty of photos of players arriving at an airport.

@mps03: further delay :( inbound Madrid flight now showing scheduled arrival at 19:50 #notonmywatch apparently

That is 100% wrong and you fecking know it! Where did Chelsea get their money from? Where did City get their money from? fecking Abramovich and a sheik with too much time and money. And where did United get their money from?

There aren't any government loans to Madrid. There are bank loans to Madrid, including loans from rescued banks, however as Madrid pay the standard business interest rate and have never defaulted on repayments they didn't cause the crisis in the Spanish economy. In any case this is the Di Maria party thread - not the football finance one.

No but that isn't what they said is it. They said they think that might happen, or he might come today. They said that's their sources, not fact.

I seriously love you.

I've been sat in my garden for the past half an hour eating king prawns observing the incoming planes to Mcr airport. I've seen a few smaller aircrafts (one of which was probably Di Marias private flight).
