We are well ahead of FFP, its City snd PSG that have to worry about that.

You are only well ahead because of absurd fees you've received in the last 18 months. Unless Chelsea start bringing in the serious dough, they are going to run out of David Luiz's to sell in order to spend big.

Actually, if you look at their list of loanees, that seems to be their strategy. Buy up a ton of young talent, loan them out, and then sell the majority at a profit in a year or two.

What did they say? Just missed it.
Neville just saying how he thinks he will be used and its a big price, but its a big price on the right player and somebody we're crying out for. Will inject pace and that quality in the middle if we use him there, or out wide.

Pretty much yeah. Thinks he will be used on the left or centre of a midfield 3.

What I'm interested in is where will he play? On the one hand, it could be really exciting to see him and Adnan flanking RvP / Rooney, but that'd presumably leave Mata in the cold, unless we played two defensive players alongside Mata in a deeper position. The alternative seems to be playing AdM in central midfield - I know he did well last season in that role, but is it a viable long term option for us, or is it another square peg-round hole situation? Surely he won't play wing back...?

Imagine we had him and Herera in our midfield in place of Fletcher and Cleverley? We would have so much pace and mobility in the middle of the park for once.
The result and performance would have been so much different.

Yes although we have been crap a little pace in play we would have easily beat both Swansea and SunderlandSunderland

What a weekend! Woke up on Sunday with a cracking hangover and first thing I did was check the Caf to see whether there'd been any movement - whoever put that Breaking News banner up, what a legend, you know exactly how to float our boats!

Delighted by the impending signing of AdM - it addresses one of the key problem areas for the club, the other two being central defensive cover and a world class midfield player. Hopefully, our search for the latter will be aided by AdM's signing - say what you will, but it's a hell of a statement.

When Rooney and Van Persie are fit, I think it'll be like this:
Rooney Van Persie
Mata
Di Maria Herrera
Carrick
Shaw Rojo Evans Rafael
De Gea
Midfield 3 is almost identical to Madrid's last year, not as good in quality but Herrera is still very good as is Carrick. When Januzaj forces his way into the team ahead of Van Persie (or just one of them get injured), then :

Rooney
Di Maria Mata Januzaj
Herrera Carrick
Shaw Rojo Evans Rafael
De Gea

How are the weather condition? Any turbulence? Those small towels better not have been too hot! Did they serve proper champagne or the cheapo stuff?

Seriously though, it seems he can play both wings but it seems to me that he has mostly played on the left (wing and left CM out of three) for Real and as a left footed player that makes sense. Does this mean we might face a scenario where we have our no 7 playing left wing and our no 11 right wing? Not that it should matter but it is a bit weird to see.

Apparently the plane is behind time because it had to make a last minute detour to Turin to pick up some Chilean guy. Not sure what that's all about ;)

Watching his highlight reels, his celebrations are great. Every goal he scores, he reacts as if it's first ever goal. He just can't believe it's gone in.

I won't believe it until Rojo signs his ball saying "see you in Manchester".

There is hope from #mufc that Angel di Maria will arrive tonight to finalize his move, but he is due in Manchester tomorrow. [bbc]
