Eh? Di Maria was basically everything we were missing today. Pace, killer balls, width, the ability to beat his man.
He's wumming.

Breaking news, Di maria has snubbed United after watching their recent performance. As I stated before and agreed with Glastonspurs, Di Maria will only slightly cover the major problem in the squad. I rather we first buy William Carvalho, Vidal(instead of Herrera) and Kovacic this summer. An experienced centerback like Garay should have also been bought when he was available.
Seriously, stop wumming.

It's not totally illogical. If we work on the presumption that there is a finite pot of money available for players, it makes sense for a fan who is interested in who we sign to be interested in how much we spend.

It is totally illogical because of the assumption the club does not know what it is doing. These are business people. I care a damn about what we pay. We get the players the manager wants and we are all set.

...and please don't bring up ridiculous hypothetical numbers.....as some have done to prove their point.

:/ Are you being sarcastic? We do need that, but that is barely the problem considering valencia did manage to get an assist.

We are missing leadership in the back and center midfielders who could control the ball, break up midfield play, orchestrate and add structure to our midfield. I taught our awful midfield performance would be gone from last season under van gaal, but it seems it has gotten even worse.

Di Maria. Great player but wrong medicine for the moment. Our wing backs and central midfield and central defence are in shambles. The cash may be better spent in these areas.

That's fair enough if you decide that you are happy with whatever the management do in the transfer market as they are professionals who know a lot more than us, which is a perfectly reasonable position to take.

But, it's also perfectly reasonable to have your own opinions on who we should sign, and if you are such a person, it's equally reasonable to have opinions on how much money we should spend on given players.

I'm not sure what hypothetical numbers you're on about?

So now half of you are saying what you were shooting every oppo for saying?

Who's to say a quality midfielder isn't on the horizon? I agree it's a bit like the Mata signing but we are adding quality.

Because the problem is not signing mata and di Maria, the problem is RVP and Rooney. The whole point of playing guys like mata and di Maria along with janazaj, is defeats the purpose of needing to play 2 strikers, these guys behind the main striker and they also get the team goals and assists. Very few teams play with 2 strikers, and I would rather we dropped a striker in favour of a system that gets the best of mata, which is 4231

Late in the window, Real don't want to sell, we are desperate, not really hard to understand, where the 10 million more come from ;)

you can have opinions...but its clear fans who have no clue about business management do not trump professionals who know about transfers.

I have seen posters use crazy numbers...like saying.."I suppose you would not mind if we paid 200 million for a left back and such". posts like that are not worth addressing.

I kind of agree. Although coming away from that Sunderland game, I wouldn't at all mind seeing someone who can dribble play for us.

£64m. Madrid laughing all the way to the bank!
We're you watching the game today? I couldn't care less about the transfer fee even if we payed £80 million for him. We're so short of quality players it's unbelievable.
