People actually saying he isn't a match winner? Clearly didn't watch the CL final

Why are so many of you being little bitches about the fee? We can afford it and we've been crying out for top players all summer. You just want something to moan about don't you? It's not like we're choosing di Maria over a top midfielder like Vidal, obviously either LVG doesn't fancy him/Trust his knee or maybe he isn't interested in the move.

How the hell are we going to come up with a chant for this one?

Ave Maria?
"Ohhhhhhh diiii Marrrriiiiaaaaaaaa"

Actually, that would sound class. Sorry to break video rules:

Glad we got him, great signing, and FINALLY we have taken a player from Real Madrid that THEY wanted to keep!

At the same time though, the money being spent on Di Maria shows we have money to spend, now please invest in atleast another CM!

Another player for set pieces, we used to just have Rooney at one stage

Don't understand why do many care about the price. It's not their money. The club earns so much that these deals can be afforded. I would rather the money go into purchasing new players than into the glazers pockets.

I'm away from home at the same location where I was when the Berbatov saga started. We signed Berbs on my way home (hilarious number of posts mixed with terrible connectivity made for quite the drive - I was the passenger ). It's on!

Edit: wife will be driving to make sure

Stop twisting things.
No one is doubting his performances, but if things are going against us-he won't just come out and score a goal or two like with Suarez or Ronaldo. For that kind of money spent, I expect that from him. You may not, but I do.
In other words , why not just say that you want us to sign a striker?

Who gives a shite? We're finally getting a world class player! Enjoy it..

Mata is a world class player even though he didn't fit.

Anyway, i am happy with this signing and don't care we are overpaying if we have money left for a quality midfielder that much either but i just stated a fact that for me we were overpaying by 20 million.

I can be happy with his signing and still think we overpaid and he is not exactly what we need most tbf. It's not really contradictory.

Agent Rojo, Agent Fergie, Agent Ronaldo and Agent Di maria's Wife-we salute you for your services.

Di Maria's goals and assists only in the league since joining RM according to Transfermarkt:

2010/11 goals 6 assists 16
2011/12 goals 5 assists 16
2012/13 goals 7 assists 12
2013/14 goals 4 assists 18

Not bad for an "inconsistent" winger ...

I really missed Sir Alex Ferguson now. The old days of living fantasy where he can win something without even spending that much of money.

Didn't Mata play on the left in his best season at Chelsea? I'm sure he could work there for us with RvP-Rooney attack and Di Maria on the right.

Exactly because if we pay 60m for Di Maria ( who worth that much) then we had the money for Vidal, all summer, which means that there is something that we don't know about Vidal.

Now unto positions that should have actually been sorted out before this one. Hopefully those deals go through

Pool fans saying we're desperate and we overspent on Di Maria. I think they forgot the part where they've spent 25m on Downing and 35m on Carroll.

Mata will fit in eventually, no shock Moyes couldn't make him tick a 100%.

I can respect that you think he's not worth more than 40m, but you don't get those players for that kind of money any longer.

He's definitely off, it's just a question of whether PSG can clobber together a legal way of getting him before we do i reckon.

Bitches be crazy in the Caf!

Madrids President is such a dictator.

According the Balague Ancelotti wanted Di Maria to stay, the coaches wanted him to stay and his team mates wanted him to stay but the President wanted to sell him.

You will give a feck when you realise that how much we (over) spend will have a direct affect on our budget for next summer. That sort of fee should buy you a Suarez, sorry Di Maria isn't a match winner on that level but hey this is woodward negotiating a transfer, so it's to be expected that he'll over pay by quite some margin.
If we don't spend the money, we don't get the player. It's as simple as that. That's what it's become. The alternative is to not have a player of that quality.. if it's within our means to get him, why not do it? left wing, right wing, CM, number 10, we can put him anywhere in that front third. he's a player we need, without a doubt.

Are we the team that gets the budget signings, or the superstar signings? We need proven quality right now and in the market we're in (where Fellaini costs 25m) this is the kind of money that needs to be outlaid.

According to Spanish Outlets. The basic fee is 56m and the rest is addons.

Well, if United really are signing him, then probably it's a case of how much money is left over. I guess that's the logic for the Vidal stories being replaced by De Jong/Blind stories.

So. What is your starting lineup going to be assuming all fit and not adjusted for a specific opponent ?

He badly needed to balance the books

I concur with that fee. The addons will be £8-10m. I think we will pay them that if we win the premier league/champions league, which will be 1-3 seasons away.

Good stuff.

I really think very few people are actually moaning? All I'm skim reading is pages of people saying that people shouldn't moan?

Stupid Glazer's and Woodward, with their tight purse strings, never willing to spend extra to get world cla.. oh ... Di Maria you say? How much? Feck me, stupid Glazer's and Woodward, spending too much money to get world class players!

Ancelotti is such a top class man, always open and transparent. Was hard not to like him at Chelski even.

If that's the case, then I really would have rather a high quality CM in the Vidal mode and a bargain winger than an expensive winger and bargain CM tbh. Though, De Jong isn't that bad. But we'll see, it could also be that Vidal knees put United off or who knows United could still sign both.

Feck it, let's pay £100m for him then. It's understandable people are worried that he'll set us back £60m. Only a few days ago people were saying we haven't spent our money wisely and here you are saying let's spunk £60m on him. Yes, he's class and I want him here but that money is excessive, whichever you look at it. His only world class season was last season and he's not exactly young. Going rate, shmoing rate. £60m is excessive.

If he was our only signing then fair enough, let's pay that fee. But we're overpaying on all of our signings and we still have massive holes in our squad. The more money we spend on him, the less we have on buying a proper midfielder and defender. It's pretty simple. If you don't agree with that viewpoint, fair enough but don't give flak to those that do. We don't have unlimited funds. We might be rich but we have the Glazers in charge. We're a business; Glazernomics come into effect and they're not going to pay much more than they have if we buy Di Maria for £60m.
