Ange Postecoglou | New Spurs boss on 4 year contract

Have to admit Spurs play some very entertaining football under Ange. Son looks reborn. And on top of that Ange just seems like such a likable fellow.

This video is pretty great aswell:

What day the caf, Ange or Arteta?

What's so hard to get through to some people's thick heads in that video? I'm not saying who is better between Ange and Arteta, but what's with that Arsenal fan in the vid?

The other guy making a case that Ange winning the Australian league with Brisbane Roar is the same level of difficulty as winning the prem with Arsenal makes sense. He probably just means if you look at it comparitively with the resources available to the clubs and what they're up against in their league. It's not about quality if the leagues.

But the Arsenal fan can't comprehend that, he's just saying "If Brisbane Roar were in the prem where would they finish?!" As if he's making a point. Sounds so foolish.

I see Bissouma getting a lot of praise, and rightfully so, but the whole team has experienced an uptick under big Ange. Son sits second only behind Haaland for goals scored so far. Romero's form compared to last season is night and day, Udogie and Porro have been growing into their roles, still cannot believe Udogie is only 20.

For a club as badly managed as Spurs he has them ticking along nicely at the moment. It is up to the club now to sort out their woeful squad depth, still cannot believe all the old guard are still there. Lloris, Dier, Hojbjerg, Davies, Lo Celso, how can the bench be so bad when they just got 100mil plus add ons for Kane?

Somehow missed Ange's words on mental health from about 2 weeks ago. And so far - what else I've seen like a proper top lad too. Hope he does well. Just not against us.

According to Romano we are looking at Armand Lauriente, please let’s hope soo, such a talent. Mods can we turn thins thread into the Tottenham season thread please?

This was the post I wrote before the goal

I think his Spurs team are going to get found out very soon. Questions will need to be asked as to why he couldn't beat a 9 man Liverpool.

His biggest challenge will be changing the mentality of Spurs which is still there from going out of the league cup and will be there when someone questions their bottle. Triangles will only get you so far.

This is the post I wrote after

Top fecking lad, beat the scousers with an og in the final minute!

Has Spurs playing decent football and the main thing is that they are creating chances and scoring goals, despite losing Kane.

He takes risks that might cost him at times but fair play he’s completely changed the philosophy at Spurs in a matter of weeks.

You know what I'm jealous of Spurs.

Absolute mess last season. Levy out, Enic out, 5-0 down after 2-0 minutes against Newcastle. Lose Kane.

Hire a manager who's biggest job at the age of 58 has been managing Celtic. Suddenly Spurs are playing like world beaters, beautiful football, everyone loving the "Angeball". Some talk about how they could challenge City this season

Meanwhile at United it's misery after misery and "it could take years for United to even be close to being a top 4 team." And if Postecoglu was United's manager you just know we'd still be playing tumescent football and if Ten Hag was with Spurs they'd be a joy to watch.

They got the managerial appointment right. Mourinho and Conte were "win at all costs" kind of philosophy even if it means playing awful football. This doesn't suit Spurs at all, they won't spend the amount of money required for this strategy to work and at the same time they won't win many trophies anyway which means playing awful football to get results will backfire. They were terrible appointments not suited for the kind of the club they're.

They got it right this time.

Ange is proof managers don’t need years to turn around style of play.

His spurs team lost arguably the best striker in the world, and look a better team for it.

Very true.

No idea what is is with managers at United they all struggle for identity and get lost in the sauce.

We finished 3rd after a disaster season, won a trophy and had some decent displays

They were very lucky today, they looked absolutely clueless when playing against 9.He took Maddison off who was their best player.

I can only imagine the scenes on here if we were playing against 9 needing a goal and we took Bruno off.

It worked out for them in the end and they are doing well but let's not get too carried away.

Maddison was a doubt for the game and only trained on Friday, can't have been 100% fit. Same with Son.

Not helped by all our other attacking options being injured either.

Who is getting carried away? Nobody is making any outrageous claims.

Today he absolutely wasn't

Why would he? He’s doing great there and may even have a shot at the Title if he keeps it up. Why would he come to United where everything from the owners down is rotten?
Is this a joke? Liverpool outplayed Spurs today and would have nailed them but for the disastrous VAR decisions. Its too early, I am sure we will pip them for the 4th spot (despite today). Its too soon to make the call. Spurs are having a rebound moment (just like we did under Ole after Mou). We should see how he does at the end of the season before bigging him up.

The opposing team had a legit goal wrongly ruled out too, that was the biggest bit of good fortune he could have possibly got.

This is no longer a given, they went behind twice against Arsenal away and fought back. They might have responded differently if the score wasnt level.

Too soon to use Ange as proof of anything tbh.

Lots of managers can get a tune out of a team for a few weeks/months.

Well done so did many managers who failed in the PL

Ange is the real deal and you can come back and quote me on this at the end of the year.

His man management is superb, and he gets the best out of his players.

He might be. Ten Hag has done a lot more than him and is struggling. Time will tell

If it was still the case at the time, then why not wait until March/April to write this, when it might actually mean something. Until then he is yet another manager who has got a tune out a sqaud who are just happy the previous manager has gone.

Yeah, definitely a positive start with Spurs playing decent football. But let's give it a few months before hailing him as the new Messiah.

New manager bounce isn't unheard of so let's see how he fares when they inevitably faces a bit of adversity.

That being said , I can't remember a United manager with a start like that.
