Ange Postecoglou | New Spurs boss on 4 year contract

Nothing wrong with that, especially if your fiercest rivals haven't won the league in 20 years. I could understand why a lot of United fans wanted us to lose to City in April 2019 to make sure we weren't responsible for Liverpool winning the league.
Yeah, same here. That game plus Villarreal at home (CL group game, we were horrendous but were lucky to win) and 2nd half at Watford (before Ole got sacked), those 2 and a half games are the ones where are I was actually cheering for opposition. Villa away this season was close to cheering for Villa as well. Thankfully ten Hag left only few weeks after that.

This was predictable it would fall to pieces when they didn't back him in the Summer. Solanke and a bunch of high valued teenagers isn't proper backing.

Another Manager out when their bigger problem is the man in charge. They'll win nothing with Levy at the helm.

Unlike with us when we could only really beat the terrible sides. He at least has them playing good football and has shown that he can beat the best sides. The issue is the Tottenham team has not enough quality. They can't rotate without dropping several levels.
Yeah, there is a mismatch in expectations and the quality of their squad

A lot of people on here seem to be loving their downfall conveniently ignoring the fact they are no where near us in terms of wage bill or fees

This isnit, still think he will leave them in a better place than he found them though

That's complete bollocks.

Hoping we lose to stop a rival in an extreme situation is fine.

Hoping we lose to suit your own agenda. Dick.

Lose or blow a lead and draw at the weekend to Southampton I can see him going. Very arsey and uptight when being asked questions today, seemed to have chucked a couple of his players under the bus openly too. Werner and Romero in particular. Doesn’t look good.

As honourable as that may sound, I think you underestimate the true extent of tribalism amongst football fans; many of whom are 'real' fans, as you call it.
I really don't get it. I just have different priorities than you guys apparently. It's just a question what matters more, my own team winning, or some other team losing? I do care about rivalries, but just so far as I want my team to beat the other team.

If that doesn't happen I just don't care.

Not sure if he was serious as I'm not from the UK can anyone confirm that what he said is actually a thing ?

Would a club ( the manager?) get a message from a school teacher/principal regarding a player missing out on their education because they were called into a squad ?

I totally understand the logic behind it happening but at the same time surely the school would be hyped a young lad was called up for premier league team.

Few players on our team earning 200k plus that I wouldn't trust with a jigsaw .

Context matters. Is your workplace full of fans of your most hated rivals? Do you have friends/family members who will constantly remind you of the time you gifted the league to your rivals? Have they won a title recently or would you be handing them their first title in decades?

Home and away for twenty years mate. Followed Utd everywhere.

Was hoping City beat us in 2019 to stop Liverpool. No regrets.

Spurs lads were right last year to.
I do understand the thought process, however in the case of Spurs they could have got top 4, improved their chances of signing better players and been better for it. Ultimately that was more important than bantering Arsenal. If Spurs had had nothing to play for then I'd understand a lot more and find it funny, but it came across as very Spursy in the end.

Shedding tears at the moment imagining him being giggly and all only to be met with players waiting for him in the dressing room telling him "We are not your mates anymore".

Had we beaten City in 2019, top 4 would have been on the cards iirc. For many United fans, that wasn't as big of a deal as gifting Liverpool the league.

It's all 'what ifs' if you beat them. What if you sign better players in the summer because you got top 4. What if you reach the latter stages of the CL next season. Whereas gifting your most hated rivals their first league title in decades is a far more evocative outcome.

I'd have quite a lot of fun reminding them that they only won something because we did help them and that they didn't manage it on their own.

I agree to an extent, but literally celebrating in the stands was too far. One of the most humiliating spectacles I’ve witnessed in football.

What agenda? I wanted Ole gone so we wouldn't suffer more humiliating defeats. It turned out I was right as we got beat 5-0 against Liverpool at Old Trafford soon after that. Then to Watford 4-1. Didn't cheer for Villa this season but wouldn't have been a disaster if we lost, it's just that ten Hag would've left earlier.

If Spurs score another goal in the 2nd half then they'll have the best goal difference in the league despite being in 10th place

(provided that Chelsea score no more goals in their game)

The minute he gets sacked from Spurs it would make sense for West Ham to just appoint him, he's probably their perfect manager as no demand at West Ham to actually win things but just have a go home or away and he'd do that no problem.
