Is this not what United tried with Ole and ETH to an extent? United have tried all of the above really, it's just not clicking.

Not entirely Ole was a just a sentimental coincidence from being a caretaker. ETH at Ajax and the one at United is suggestive of two totally different ideals so maybe the club didn't do enough due diligence to highlight what they wanted when going forward. There might be genuine reason why it's not clicked (failure to sign a ball progressive 8 etc) but I've said this a few times I actually think Ten Hag has proved to be an underrated manager but an overrated coach.
They won nothing but for a moment (2007-08) Henry leaving did galvanize them. Bit like what we're seeing now with Spurs losing Kane.
Yes but the media pretty much said the same about Vieira at Palace. After two seasons he hit a brick wall and was sacked.
The only things we've learnt about Spurs this season is they will create bags of chances and have a likable manager. No one is talking up their chances, although Gary Neville tried to throw them into the title equation. When pundits do start to talk up their top four chances (given they only play once a week), it'll be interesting to see how they manage expectations. Saying that they have a media savvy boss who will give as good as it gets to the press. The PL have needed that for a long time.

Let see how long it last. Spurs has this bottle mentality that you can never be so sure. They already out in the carabao cup, but it remains to be seen if they can sustain these result and performance.

Maddison has been a revelation for them, I remember watching him for Leicester and thinking he's a good player, but he just seems another level at Spurs. How did Spurs have a free run at him and no one was interested? 40mil is not an eye watering amount in regards to modern premier league xfers, plenty of teams could of had a run at him for that amount. I know it is early in the campaign but he is definitely in the discussion for best player in the prem so far.

Many top players have attitude problems.
Credit to them for their start this season but they've had no injuries so far and an amazing amount of luck in games (us, Sheffield utd, Liverpool) and could well be sitting with 4 or 5 points less.

Newcastle were tracking him for a long time too. He's been quality.
Maybe it was Kane holding them back. Everything had to go through him. Now they’re playing as a unit and team.
His huge advantage is no European football. They even went out of the League Cup at the 2nd round. They really could have a 40 game season if they go out of the FA Cup 3rd Round too.

Definitely true over the whole course of the season, though we'd only have played 3 extra games so far this season if we had been in Europe, which is not exactly a huge number in fairness.
Impressed with how quickly he's changed the style of play and again, mostly just happy I don't have to watch utter dross on a weekly basis.
Will be interesting to see how we respond to a rough patch though and my understanding is that Ange's teams tend to get a pasting or two over the course of the season with how he sets his teams up so the team will receive a lot of flak when that happens I'm sure. Some positions (especially CB for instance) also have very poor cover.
Bentancur coming back will be huge for you also.

I thought Postecoglu would have signed Kyogo as a back up as he loved him at Celtic. Maybe doesn’t feel he can step up.
Done well this season and he comes with glowing references from Celtic so he's certainly much better than I stupidly thought here in my ignorance (when he joined Celtic). But I think Spurs will fall prey to the hype machine just like Brighton. For Brighton as soon as talk of a title challenge was uttered it started to become shaky. Now Postecoglou has gone on record tooting his own horn saying people underrate his record due to where he has managed but he's always just loved winning and that's what he's done. Think it will start to unravel quite a bit now that the magic dust is worn off.

Back in 2019 when we desperately needed an AM we were tracking both Bruno and Maddison. I remember that Ole eventually picked Bruno and after that our interest became 0.

According to that list we will have had the easiest after 10 games, including our next two (Fulham at home and Palace away)

Spurs have played what? Arsenal away, Liverpool and Man Utd at home, so yeah not too bad really, fixture wise. There will be those games people will expect them to win against good teams like Villa, Brighton, Hammers, Newcastle, tough games against any of those teams, especially away. They will drop points in those games for sure, it's just how many.
Typical case of a talented up-and-coming manager replacing an old dinosaur(s) in Conte (and José) with better tactical ideas for this current era of football, but if 12 months ago you said Ange, Arteta, ETH, Alonso, De Zerbi etc. were better than them you would be ridiculed because people are so fixated on trophies and past achievements.
The context though is that they were very lucky not to go 2-0 or 3-0 down in the first half against United, lucky to catch Arsenal at a time when they had a ton of injuries and on short rest, then lucky to face a 9 man Liverpool while still needing a freak own goal with 15 seconds left to play to secure the points. They’ve caught every break you can imagine so far.

Been the best manager in the league this season. Assuming Maddison & Son can stay fit, I see no reason they can't challenge.
I'll give you one they aren't good enough and over the course of the season that's tend to be the most critical factor .
My personal opinion there is a greater possibility of them missing out on Cl qualification then having title challenge that last the distance even if they keep everybody fit.
Ange is four years older and has seven more years experience as manager than Conte. Calling him up-and-coming and Conte a dinosaur is weird at best.
It indeed looks like he currently is a better fit than Conte, but you can't make this about age. Grouping him and EtH together with Arteta and Alonso is weird at best, as these are different generations.
It's not sustainable, unless the top clubs drop more points that usual this season.
He's had a great start but as usual everyone loses their fecking mind and gets overexcited as though he's the first ever manager that's started really well, or got Spurs challenging in the first half of the season.
We're a joke, Chelsea can't finish to save their lives, they're better than Villa and the team that has the highest chance to fall off is Newcastle because of the CL and Tonali's impending suspension. They easily make top 5.

I wasn't talking about age. Conte, Mourinho etc. arrived at the top level 10-20 years ago. They seem completely burnt out and too stubborn to leave their old methods behind to reinvent themselves.
Ange is stubborn and consistently says he'll not change the system he's used over his career. It was one of his weaknesses in Europe for Celtic.
