He was getting lots of praise from Neville and Tyler on commentary, and he did work hard and constantly showed for the ball, something Lingard doesn't do in the #10 role, but he's still not showing a lot of creative quality on the ball.

Still has no clue how to shield a ball and where to be when asked to defend momentarily. Fair fecks to him though, he really does give it 100% each time. It's a shame his 100% is a quality player's 40%.

He will be the first to be upgraded on in subsequent windows.

This guy really can't shield the ball when his back is facing the goal, if he receive the ball in crowded area that's 100% possession lost. Couple years ago I thought he was supposed to be the technical, quick-feet type player. Now the only thing I can praise him for is his work rate.

So not the fact hes one of our best ball winners, or some of his great crosses this season, or some great long passes against Liverpool?

He was great yesterday. Need more of this. In that role he’s a better player than Lingard but both should ideally be on the bench.

Fully agree with this. He is also younger than Lingard so he can still improve certain parts of his game. Lingard should be at his best now and that just isnt good enough. Pereira is younger and at the very least just as good.

His touch for Fred's wayward shot was also quiet good..He is a good squad player who can improve with experience, and as he knows his role better...

He worked hard and put in a good shift but my main issue with him is he lacks quality. I don't know what he brings to the side apart from half hearted pressing. He is not the answer for us to go to the next level.

The game today is a natural progression I believe. Pereira is a young player who is learning still. By the end of the season, he will turn a lot of opinions in his favor. It’s just my gut feeling with him.

Feck Lingard. He should be behind Pereira, them Brazillians have more natural skills than beansboy.

He had good game. His long passes to pick Rashford was very good and worked his socks off. His decision making was erratic at the start of the game, shooting when he had players in better position.

Anytime an opponent goes close to him, he loses the ball. He runs, presses and goes into many 50-50s, but never seems to come away with the ball.

As a squad option going forward - ahead of Lingard. But for me we do need an upgrade to go in ahead of him as 1st choice.

I think his main problem at the moment is decision making. For some reason he thinks he is Pogba or some world class player that can get out of impossible situation and therefor loses the ball instead of solving those kind of situation before they even develop. He needs to realize that he does not have neither the space nor time in the PL with his level of technique. When he does that he will be a better player. He's comfortably a better player than Lingard for example, and a better athlete than Mata, but he must do more, if he is to have a good career here.

Lingard a hard worker  I guess it takes hard work to be that invisible on the pitch
The same ones that were finding excuses for Lingard are the first to throw shade at Pereira and instantly put him in the same category.

One thing that also stands out when compared with Lingard, apart from the obvious better quality on the ball, is Pereira willingness to take an initiative and make thinks happen. Lingard rarely does that.

He was very good in that AM/RW role and has the work rate to pull it off. I think he is improving and settling in the team and could do a McTominay on us. Let's see if he can build on the performance, at least he doesn't hide like Lingard and Mata.

Thats why he is my pick ahead of Mata and lingard. Whether things are going good for him or not you will notice his presence. Mata and lingard feels like we are playing with a man short at times

Wow! Play a young number 10 in the number 10 role and he suddenly looks like he could do a decent job...

I see him still as a rotation option going forward and he will never be a 'top' star. Better than lingard and mata currently though.

He worked really hard yesterday. Also a few good passes. But not enough quality balls and shots when in posession for a number 10. And yes, this was against L'pool. But was the same story against other teams as well. Definitely not a starter, squad player atm.

I haven't understood why people have been upset with him playing. He's directly competing with Lingard and Mata for a spot (often two spots) in the team, and he's comfortably outperforming them this season. Lingard has been atrocious, and Mata has had two 'ok' games but otherwise been extremely poor as well. Pereira hasn't been great but it's still significantly better than the other two. Unless it's because people want Greenwood or Gomes to be playing more, in which case I agree to some extent but they also shouldn't be overplayed (more a comment on Greenwood obviously).

To be fair Lingard is normally a hard worker, one of the best in our squad. I don't know what the feck is going on with him this season though.

His best performance in UTD shirt imo, though I still can't quite get what type of player he is? He seems to be a bit of a 'jack of all trades, master of none'. For all his passing ability he often gets passes wrong or behind the player on the receiving end.

For me in the reserves his best ability was long shooting including freekicks. I was never convinced about his passing/creativity as a number 10 as he would get it wrong there too. For Valencia he played on the right and had a couple of games where he put some decent balls across the box.

For us this season I think its fair to say he's put the best crosses in for us until last night where James came up with something special. Up until that point James' crossing had been dissappointing.

So shooting/freekicks, crossing, long passing are all good and he's aggressive trying to win the ball. Could still use some work with dribbling and keeping the ball under pressure

He's a number 10, play him in his best position and you'll get his best performances.

He was more of a false 9 yesterday, but he played well. Still not a player who should be anywhere near our starting eleven.

as long as he is not stuck on the right, he is fine...on the left and through the middle, he looks totally different..OGS stuck him to the right in the second half and of course he became totally ineffective ..he looked like the best player on the field in the first

we have a lot of better players to play on the left. He is better in CAM position but then again he should be a squad player.

Thought he was poor in the 1st half, wasted at least 3 opportunities making the wrong decision. Better in the 2nd. At least he offers some bite and tries hard, still not good enough.

Best game so far in United shirt (ignoring pre-seasons).

Gave it his all, showed his talents and like always decision-making is still questionable. Inconsistent shooting, none of his usual good strikes.

He is more suited as No.10 than a deep laying midfielder or on wing.

There has been articles full of his praise in Guardian etc. I really hope he gets confidence from this and start believing in himself.

His best position for me is CM. When Pogba got injured we should have used Pereira alongside McTominay. He's only got a fraction of Pogba's ability but he works harder and he at least tries to move the ball forwards and create attacks. Instead Solskjaer has been using Matic and Fred who are just defensive players and Matic especially isn't even good at defending. Meanwhile Pereira got stuck on the wing simply because we don't have a right winger in our squad.

The position he played for most of the match against Liverpool suited him far more than out wide but I don't see it as being somewhere he can play long term. When you are that advanced you really have to be scoring and creating goals on a regular basis and I don't think Pereira can do that.

That being said I'd choose Pereira in that role over current Lingard and Mata every day of the week.

Far and away our best player on Sunday I thought. Played very well and stood up to the plate when it was needed.

Credit where it’s due.

Did very well in a tough match. Hopefully he can get some momentum and confidence.

I've been really unimpressed with him this season but will give him his due, he looked a lot more confident and assertive against Liverpool and i gave him MotM. Hope it's the start of some good form.

I've been saying he's not a bad lil player for the squad and he always seems to give a feck which is also worth something. Prefer him to Mata, Lingard or Fred (different roles but still).

He's been awful at times. But he has improved bit at a time with more appearances. Good sign that.

He was one of the most technically gifted players in the academy. He just lacks the body strength as well as speed when playing in the men’s game so he’s unable to play his natural game. Most of his potential could be unlocked by bulking up.

People forget klopp is operating with Wyjnaldum, Milner, Henderson etc... these guys are not technically superior to what we got. He just gives them specific roles in a high octane system and relies on the fullbacks for creativity.

Pereira is not ideal, but he is the best we have at no. 10. Hope Ole gives him a chance.
But we need to find a way to attack and win games, Pereira at the 10 would be a small step in the right direction, but we are more then one step away of forming a good team (PL places 5-8)!
