He wasn't awful.

He's a 3rd choice number 10 getting too much game time. Simple as that.

Get in Grealish or van de Beek and we'll see him limited to League cup cameos or an injury crisis.

Literally the first thing he did was take too long on the ball and got tackled, then Brighton countered.

Sums him up perfectly tbh. He's just about a second slower in his head than he needs to be. Takes 3-4 touches instead of 2 etc.

He helped the team had 11 players on the field.
I know this is a joke, but I think thats what hes going to be used for this season. Basically as a sub to rest a more important player / waste time. Hes not going to come on if we need a goal, but if were winning comfortably, then we will see him (cos hes not going to overly cost us)

Nothing against Pereira. A hard worker. Just not good enough. But I'm curious... can you think of a worse player who has played 50 + games for United? I can't.

I'd offer Darron Gibson, Kieran Richardson and Matteo Darmian in response.

Shock horror, substitute takes time to get up to the speed of the game.
Except this is the norm for him. Even before the break, when match fit, he'd lose the ball in our own half too easily. He has no general awareness of his surroundings, and is too weak at shielding the ball under pressure.

Guess you're not a fan.
When this problem started happening when Ole first came in and gave him a run last year, I thought it was just nerves from him, but it happens way too often for that to be the case.

I've got nothing against the lad, and was hoping he'd at least be good enough as a squaddie, but it just hasn't worked out.

It's frustrating because there is definitely a player there, on form he's technically brilliant, maybe he needs to go somewhere where he will be the one of the main-men playing for a coach not under the pressure a Manager at Manchester United always is. I don't think he'll come back and haunt us but I expect he'll have a very good career in the game, he's too talented not to.

Yep, feel the same way about him. Was willing him to gradually improve through the last two seasons, but realistically, hasn't made enough progress. Seems to have the work rate, and has decent enough skills, very good shot, and excellent dead ball skills, but I think his brain is a second or so behind, instead of players like Bruno, who seem to be a second or so in front. Think he may go this summer if we get a couple of replacements, other wise he would stay another year, then we should be getting the likes of Garner, Levitt, Mejbri coming through, so his time on the bench will be limited even further. He seems a decent lad, and could carve out a decent career in Spanish or Portuguese football.

When last did he even make the bench? Haven't seen any reports but I hope we plan on selling him because he's as useful as an academy player at this point

Worrying that Lingard is making the bench over him.
It may be to try to save some value it doesnt really matter, beyond the message, if they make the bench or not. Neither will get minutes.

I think both know they will be shown the door as soon as the window opens.

Man Utd 2:1 LASK
Pre season Andreas Ronaldinho is back at the right time of the year. Great cameo

New hairstyle makes him look like a barca youth product, and is starting to play like one too

Good cameo.

I still think for the most part, he complicates matters. There was that chance he went through on goal and he tried to beat 3 players unnecessarily before laying it off at the end.

Do you have a clip of this? @GifLord - It ended up being a shot from McTominay that went wide

Are you lot pissed haha

he had the whole left hand side and served up nothing

got into the box had a one on one almost as well as 3 United players to pass to...cuts back inside and performs stupid spin followed by poor lay-off to McTom

Still can't stand him as a Man United player. Still want him gone.
He can drive his path to the Barcelona XI somewhere else, like he wants to.

Don’t understand where the praise is coming from. Thought he unnecessarily dwelled on the ball and tried some random things like he was trying how to do skill moves on FIFA.

Flashy player with some technical skills would stand out in a gross bunch. Decision making, timing is still very off. Not the game to criticize him, but don't be all hopeful because it would sting when he would be shown again for what he is.
