At most other 'big' clubs you get 5-10 games as an attacking midfielder and if you're not scoring or creating goals then you're out, tough, it's ruthless, it's professional football.
Then you work harder until your get your chance again, if you're lucky.

We've giving this guy 20-30 games this season now and he's barely convinced in any of them.
This is part of the reason why we're a mid-table side.

Whatever it is that the coaching staff see with Perriera that us fans don't (I've no idea what that is), it's not worth it anyway if he's offering nothing going forward in that position.

If Ole continues to pick him then he deserves to be sacked, it's indefensible.

He wasn’t the problem today. Thought we played worse when he came off.

He’s part of the problem. Not his fault but having him as our no 10 is the issue.

That role is crucial because it’s the key to get the best of our attackers. We can’t penetrate defenders today because he has no quality to pass the ball. His vision is poor that he can’t pick the right pass. His hold up play is poor that he can’t bring others into play and to make it even worse, not only he lack the creativity, he also has zero ability to score lot of goals. In other words, nothing to offer and he’s playing in the role that he needs to offer something in order to get the best out of attacker especially against low block team like Burnley.

Is he even really Brazilian?

The best thing he did tonight was to categorically prove we need to sign Fernandez.

In one half:
46 touches
31/39 passes (79.5%)
10 possessions lost
2/3 aerial duels won (66.7%)
1/4 shots on target (25.0%)

Can't wait until this fookin amateur fraud is out along with Lingard.

He's had a tonne of chances and been awful. Looks terrified in the big games and decision making atrocious in the rest. Not going to make it at United, at least we know and there are no complaints when he's out of the squad. Not good enough for an Everton midfield never mind United. Another player given a long contract that done nothing to deserve it. Loan him and sell him on then.

Was his contract renewed recently? How long is he here for?

It's funny. Periera looked an interesting player at the start of last season. But Mourinho having watched the player in much greater detail decided that he clearly had nowhere near the quality to be anywhere near being a proper starter so didn't use him at all. Ole using his infinite wisdom reversed the one of the fee solid decisions Mourinho made with respect to young players, and decide to make him a vital cog of our midfield.

Baffling managment and throws up doubts on his abilities to judge footballers. It's been clear throughout this season that Periera's brain works too slowly for this level.

Yeah, that is the biggest problem with him. He has some nice qualities but unless he can really fix his responsiveness, vision and imagination he probably wont ever develop into a consistent Premier League player. Just too slow at the moment as you said, that has been the real let down from him, more so than the inconsistent form.

Andreas Periera : Input Lag

How many more chances will he get? Dreadful performance after dreadful performance. Ole's persistence with this 4-2-3-1 formation with Perriera in the number 10 role is baffling. Clearly isn't working, so why not try something different?

Yesterday he spent an absolute age on the ball, only to do the wrong thing with it pretty much every time.

Pretty common complaint, but his decision making is shocking... Probably the worst in the team

It's absolutely shocking. I don't any amount of training would help him there - he's just not good enough, and he'll probably never be. For any teams in PL.

The sheer amount of mediocreness that Andreas radiated yesterday was unbearable - and without comparison - until he was replaced by Lingard for which the word mediocre doesn't suffice.

You mention things that do not apply here.

Big club - the fans think that, but people inside the club would disagree

Ruthless - He can be out in favour of who? Lingard who has worse stats.

The issue is we have is we keep rewarding mediocre players and performances.

He was replaced by Greenwood and it was off the back of two extremely selfish pot shots that must have annoyed Ole.

He’s had the odd decent pre-season. I can’t see any improvement whatsoever since he first broke into the first team. In fact, I’d say he was better in his few first games for us. Epitomises the averageness of our squad.

I've been saying he's awful for years but when you have a pretty boy Brazilian No.10 in your team by nature you'll overrate him.

We sent him on loans to Granada and Valencia and both sides played him as a winger because he's an awful midfielder. We've played him as a No.6, 8 and 10 and he's been bad in all position, though No.10 is probably where he's best at.

Honestly he's the worst regular starter I've ever seen for us. Lingard was at least useful once upon a time. To make things worse he's signed on a new long term contract which is just ridiculous and further proves this club hasn't a clue from top to bottom.

At one point I was pretty salty about this guy choosing Brazil over Belgium as his NT. Complete non-factor now.
His development (or lack thereof) has been so disappointing.

I actually thought he was OK in the first half, he linked the midfield and attack well but his end product is so so poor. Awful shots, no killer passes, loses the ball under little pressure.

We played worse when he came off so that shows he was helping the team in that sense, but his lack of quality at the top end is an issue.

There are league two players

I know, thats precisely why I put an 'emphasis' on 'big club' in my post, we are 'supposedly' a big club.
On paper we're not right now obviously, but we are still spending fortunes, so status wise, we are still huge, that's a fact.

In terms of dropping Perriera and Lingard, at this stage, I would argue literally any attacking midfielder from or youth team is worth a shot, because they cannot possibly be any worse than either of those two.

Im agreeing with you on rewarding mediocrity, that was my whole point and I've been saying it for years, it's the biggest problem at the club, we're rewarding mediocre players with ridiculously high wages, it's just asking for trouble on so many levels.

The one thing you can't say about Perreira is he lacks confidence. The amount of times he tries a long range shot or clever flick, messes it up but then tries something similar the next time he gets the ball is infuriating. The best thing he did last night was in the first half, controlled the ball and fired a cross-field pass to AWB which lead to a Martial chance. Nothing flashy but it was effective - no idea why he tries the difficult stuff when he just isn't good enough to execute it.

I absolutely agree. But I don't think taking him/another 10 off for Greenwood was the right idea. Should have been James off. He shouldn't be a starter for us, but unfortunately he's the best we've got unless Mata gets faster and stronger somehow. I still prefer seeing him in the team sheet than Lingard at the moment.

Mata's been ok the last few games. As soon as any of our no.10 options start to look vaguely handy they seem to get rested next game. Don't think we have that luxury right now really but hey, not even the worst of our problems at this point.

The club seem to have a disconnect with the fans. The members such as CEO come out and say the club is determined to get back to the top, but at this point these are just words nothing else.

There is no proof over the last 2 years that we want to be back at the top.

If somethings not working for 7 years, you make changes, you hire people to make changes.

Yeah true. Pereira seemed to be coming into a bit of form in the Newcastle/Burnley games, then was dropped for Lingard for the Arsenal game. It was bizarre. Has gone right off the boil since then.

The only positives from last night were the anti Glazer/Woodward chants around the ground and this fraudster being subbed off at HT.

It’s like his brain sees the thing he should do but then is like no let’s do this.

We had a break on early, he got the ball with his back to goal on the half way line, he’s got Fred wide open to his left looking at the whole pitch in front of him. I think James is there as well. All he had to do was give it to one of them and move himself forward.

So what’s he do, ignores both tries to go right which has defenders there tries to find Williams but can’t right away and is held up be a defender. By the time he can play a pass it’s already too late.

He does stupid things like this game after game as well as having crazy shotitus. Woeful last night.

I'm not convinced he's good enough to be a premier league player. He's clearly the worst player we've had in that last 30 years to have played over 50 times for the club and I can't think of too many poorer players who've made more than a handful of appearances.

How many times does his shot, passes or cross get blocked down. He lacks any sort of quality, very frustrating watching him every week.

Norwich are the worst team in the league, would he get in their side?

He's not, and of course you can think of a poorer player and he's currently still in our squad - our one and only mr Jlingz.

He's poor in decision-making. He's good technically with decent physicality, so IMO he would be better in a more structured setup where he doesn't need to think before executing, and where he MUST make certain decisions or be dropped.

Our play is far too random for his brain to keep up. Reminds me of Rashford before he went up a level, it was bad decision after bad decision.

Lingard not good enough either but at least he's had some good matches and would command a higher transfer fee than Pereira.

It's not fair to single Andreas out but again he showed he's not good enough.

The club was mad to give him a new deal. Where would he have gone if we let him go? There's not a top level player in there. Is he actually better than someone like Almiron at Newcastle?

We're picking this lad and expecting something that he just ain't got. Like so many others he's been rewarded for failure when he should have been cut loose ages ago.

Can't blame him cos I'd take the money if it was offered to me. Just another example that the loonatics really are running the asylum at Old Trafford.

Miggy Almiron is on a different planet than Pereira. He is miles better than Pereira in every aspect of the game. I am genuinely shocked that a quality poster such as yourself would even ask this.

Andreas has been giving a massive opportunity to make himself a United 1st teamer and all he has done is prove to everyone he's simply not good enough .

This also is massive thing against Ole as a manager because he keeps picking him when it's obvious he isn't up to the job.

Gomes must be sat there at the stage knowing his United career is over because if he can't get a game this season he has no hope in any other

Can't disagree with any of that.
He has some ability but sadly not enough to compete in the PL.
He runs around nicely but when he gets the ball, his basic limitations show up.
The PL is quite physical and Andreas is physically not strong enough.

And the fact that Ole picks him so often is both a reflection of his judgement as well as lack of competition.

I agree - his biggest issue is his decision making.

I think he would improve with a proper system and good coaching. Pereira needs to know what to do with the ball before he receives it. Too many times this season we just look like we're out there freestyling, theres no patterns in our play at all.

He's legitimately had one good game for us ever.

ONE.
