Hoped to see a lot more than that. Rarely involved and not much sign of quality when he was.
Herrera, Pereira and Pogba is the way to go.
That's our best midfield imo. Pereira is going to be top class if he's given a chance.
Thanks. Balance, close ball control and ball retention, that was against 4 Real players.
I personally was more impressed by McTominay today. Thought he looked more comfortable.
Why are you saying that now? He played right-center midfielder today, responsible for our attacking.Should play him on the left. He's no DM
Shut the feck up bitch. You keep saying that you don't buy into the hype but continue posting tonnes of absolute drivel bashing on the kid. If you don't rate him then move the feck on. Don't need 100 posts from you stating how you are so good at judging talents and how Pereira is gonna be a flop.Unpopular it might be but I don't see it.....

Really? He seems much faster than them but slower in thought indeed. Modric knows every step he's going to make (99% the right ones) and executes that with full conviction. Maybe that makes him seem to glide on the pitch faster but dont think he's any faster or quicker physically than Pereira.Remain one of his biggest fans but he has some issues with agility, speed of movement with the ball sometimes.. sounds counter-intuitive but even though he's capable of great dribbles he's quite slow when you compare him to say Modric or Herrera and it means he doesn't move around well enough. United are a very static side so maybe it makes him look worse.
That said he reminds me of Kroos and Schweinsteiger in the way he moves and they managed to become legendary midfielders despite lacking top tier dynamism on the ball (on paper) because of their great football brains and awesome technique and mentality. It's clear to me he has a solid brain and is a fighter so if he could just work on moving better he has some great assets.
You missed the point of the clipI rate him but all he did there was get out of the trouble he created for himself.

Think I agree with that assesment.Modric has perfect combination of brain and agility. He's very light on his feet in a way even the greatest midfielders of all time can only dream of - so it would be unfair to judge Pereira by that standard but even by normal world class standards i.e. Vidal, Kroos, Thiago and Verratti ... I think Pereira doesn't move well, he doesn't cover ground effortlessly, it looks like hard work for him.
Modric is very quick over first few yards and he can beat players with drop of a shoulder and accelerate into space... Pereira can beat players too but at a higher level, he would need to up his game in this regard. Aside from the gif above he looked quite leaden-footed (he has quick feet but he looked like he was walking through treacle) compared to how well the Madrid midfielders were moving.
The way Mourinho sets his teams up it can make midfielders seem more one-paced than they are so probably being harsh on the young lad but just saying it's no guarantee he's destined to make it as a first teamer at a club like United based on current level of performance. For me his rivals in terms of style are Verrati and Thiago and they looked better than he did at a similar age/level of experience.
Putting him in a more dynamic side, would get the best out of him.
I think him being given the no.15 shirt number proves he's gonna feature quite a bit this season..I would be gutted if he gets sent out on loan again. The Lad needs a chance to show what he can do, think he will be a good deputy to Herrera!
No. We need to sign a better midfielder.Would you sacrifice say Fabhinio and take an older Matic to give Periera more game time next season. I suspect if Fabhinio or a very unlikely Dier or Veratti comes in we see very little of Andreas

Oh really? You hadn't mentioned?
