To me it's the way that even after the interview is over he feels the need to ask again why he would be afraid. He's totally incredulous about the suggestion.
It shows a decent mentality. I don’t think elite athletes think in the way the interviewer was suggesting in general though. You pay extra attention to top players but the ‘fear’ thing is a bit odd.

He's got balls of steel

Haaland : "Jack, I'm flying"
Onana: "Get off me ya weirdo"

Yup, he’s legitimately like “what the feck??!!”, like he can’t compute it

Vs City (I didn't watch the match)

This guy goes forward against City in a fecking CL final. And it didn't look like City players were trying to press him either. I'm now convinced he will be transformative in how we play.

Pretty sure that was because City opted not to press him due to his aptitude on the ball - think Pep clarified this. Wouldn’t expect this every game but a huge upgrade on ball retention playing out from the back v DDG should be.

He is one of those wildcard Adama Traore type players where modern tacticians just shrug their shoulders and give up.

Some of the comments in the thread are quite funny.

"We need a goalkeeper who can play with their feet!"
*Actually sees footage of a goalkeeper playing with their feet
"OMG what the hell is he doing!"

Yeah it's not the be all and end all but definitely shows he's got a little bit of bite and self confidence.

People dooming about his shot stopping when we've had this
You can make clippings like this for any goalkeeper in the world. All goalkeepers make occasional dumb mistakes.
De Gea has had his share, for sure, but for every mistake he has made (not all of them decisive for relevant games) you have to remember how many games have we saved solely due to his otherworldly saves. And if you have watched United past 12 years, the answer is - metric shit ton.

It may be time to move on (probably is), and I am very excited about Onana signing, but it's not OK to disrespect David, who has been an absolute legend for us.

Really think if we seal Onana we need to focus on selling Maguire, Fred, McTominay, Martial and Sancho, to raise funds so we can then go all out for Osimhen, and also sign Amrabat to cover Casemiro.

We have plenty of players on the wing, Antony, Rashford, Garnacho, Amad,

I think we can get by without replacing Maguire this year as Lindalof and Shaw and pretty good should we lose Varane and Martinez.

Thinking of the City v Inter final. I just can’t help but think it Inter had a proper wc striker they’d at least take it to extra time. With only Rashford as our WC forward I can see us being a bit like inter next season unless if we sign a WC striker.

Sancho won't be going anywhere and nothing to suggest amad is ready to stand up and be a regular PL player yet.

Martial will be fit by Boxing Day Match. Need him for that.

Which one is more ready, a young player that smashing the Championship or a sub young player in Serie A?

Damn, he's a photogenic man. Looks like a frickin supermodel. Need to sign him just for that tbh. Our squad has become a bit of an uggo club in recent years.
Varane is very handsome I think. I also rate Shaw in this department personally. Rashford and Lindelof are good looking as well. Sabitzer is an absolute rogue so it’s a pity we aren’t keeping him. I don’t who who is really ugly among the rest though, most of them are alright.

Yeah, Varane is the best one. Martial, Dalot, Pellistri, Garnacho, Martinez, Mount are also in good looking list, imho. The rest are just fine.

Him, Martinez, Casemiro - these characters are needed for trophy winning teams. Guys that go out there to put the opposition in the BDSM basement.
The dressing room is finally getting the strong characters back to bring an end to the post-Fergie pussy cat era.

I'll be honest I don't even care about his keeping ability or how good he is on the ball. Ever since I saw that video of him saying "scared of who? of HIM?!?! Listen my friend - a man should never be scared of another man." when speaking about Haaland, I've wanted him here.

That's a Manchester United player right there. He has that dog in him.

Fully agree with this. We need players with the fortitude to be here.

Him and Mount definitely putting us on the right track in the area where it matters most

Wanders into a thread on a potential new utd no1, instead finds out if the caf thinks the utd squad is sexy or not

Why are we signing a player, who deliberately took performance enhancing drugs, will be out for 6 months of the year playing the African Cup of Nations, will cost us £50m when we could have got him for free, palms the ball straight to attackers, will try to dribble a pressing player and lose the ball, played in the Dutch league and again another player, which has a connection with ETH, has an attitude problem and will down tools, is of African descent and we know what that means in his keeping ability and has only one good season in a top league?!
 How to expose yourself as a wum in one post. Good effort.

Reading this I've changed my mind. Seems too much hassle. Thanks for your insight!
