A proper ball playing CB last year and now a modern sweeper GK. Friggin awesome to see the increased focus on quality in buildup and possession play. We needed a manager like ETH instead of Mourinho all those years back.

Probably a top 5 keeper in the world. He will improve us as a team so much.

Let's get a proper wingback on the right hand side now.

Hope he comes out and claims the ball loads and then looks for those Rashford runs with accurate long kicks. That’s what has me excited a lot.

£250k a week as we go in with the high offer first

if we haven't learned our lesson by now with giving these younger guys big wages then we are stupid and deserve to struggle selling players....to quadruple his salary would be insane

Officially at the vinegar strokes stage.

What’s this mad bastard like on claiming corners? One thing I won’t miss is watching the opposition crowd De Gea on the goal line.

I wonder if ETH was given to greenlight for this move due to De Gea's contract running out. Would have been interesting if say he had 2 or 3 years left on the left deal with how much trouble it would be to shift him on previous wages.

I am still anxious about this one -- even in the highlight reel it seems like he never makes a clean save. The ball always goes back into the box or takes another bounce before he controls it.

Still onboard with this because the upgrade in passing alone is worth it. The number of times fecking Lukaku controlled it well means any decent CF we sign will be able to do the same.

His weakness seems to be controlling the ball with his hands. Will add some further excitement to our games, as well as his escapades into midfield.

He's going to get crucified the moment one of these results in a goal. I hope we are aware of the trade-offs and decided that what he brings in possession is valuable enough for slightly worse goalkeeping ability. No one looks at the boring bits that are done right, everyone wants to talk about the highlight reel saves / blunders.

A good pass under pressure out to a fullback that then moves us up the pitch 20 yds isn't really something that people will value correctly I feel.

This looks all but confirmed now. A proper signing this time around. Would have rather had Costa, but I guess Onana will do as well. Possibly the biggest upgrade we could make and should transform the way we play across the pitch. Just brace for the occasional howler. But getting used to not seeing David de Gea between the posts will take some time. Still, should be quite the upgrade, if he can adapt to the league (comparison to De Gea):

You won‘t have to worry about me, I think he is great, the best possible target out there we can actually get.
