Anderson Vs Lucas

I was willing to accept some sort of comparison here not long ago.
However, after watching a bit more of Lucas, and after that performance by Anderson yesterday, i think i'll be a bit more subjective. Anderson looks to be quite easily superior.

No argument here, in fact there never was:devil:

Got nothing to do with him being at Liverpool, but the little I have seen of Lucas, I'd say our Fletcher is ahead of him. But that's not saying much, since I rate Fletcher quite highly, but lucas does not look like much compared to any of our midfielders really. Still young, new country and all that, will probably end up decent enough..

Haven't seen a lot of Lucas to be fair so can't comment on him, media rave a lot about him though, and I think he does have a lot of potential there.

Anderson is just in a different league though. Brilliant player and £17m is looking like a bargain.

Is this a serious question????!!!! One signed for United, The other Liverpool. Isnt that enough to finish this silly debate?

No not really...if that's a criteria for ending debates then there wouldn't be much debate would there?

As for whether this was a serious thread or not? Well it's funny you should mention that. I started it as piss take and I'm quite surprised at the amount of serious debate. Lucas isn't fit to lace Anderson's boots. He's a typical benitez signing. Someone who can keep the ball moving and is tactially aware.

I think Lucas and Anderson could end up making a cracking partnership for Brazil.

Lucas is a good player and will develop well but Anderson is fecking something else. Anderson is he best thing since sliced bread and will be one of the premiership's most influential players in the next couple of years.

The scary thing he already is based off performances v. Arsenal and Liverpool, ie Fabregas and Gerrard. Once he starts to find the net, my god will he ever be a complete player, what a signing

Lucas is good but Anderson's on another level. He's had Fabregas and Gerrard in his back pocket whenever he's come up against them....

I've been absolutely delighted and somewhat surprised by the way Anderson has settled into our side.

I didn't know much about Anderson before we brought him and based everything I knew about him on a handful of YouTube videos. I assumed we were buying a replacement for Giggs, an attacking midfielder that could take on players and put the ball in the box for Rooney and Saha.

Instead I've found a strong midfielder that is capable of tracking back and protecting our defence as well as playing some brilliant defence splitting passes. Despite his young age he shows maturity and uses the ball so intelligently, rarely giving it away.

I really think Ferguson has managed to sign a fantastic player.

Anderson pisses me off, a LOT actually. I reckon we have only seen 50% of what the boy can do. Mind you he is coming back from an almost season long of inactivity due to a leg break and as such is still a bit apprehensive about unleashing his full attacking talent. The boy is more than mint and when he starts displaying his attacking talents and mind boggling box of tricks more, there will be more than spunk on peoples' keyboards.

I think Eto'odinho is right actually. You can see he does hold back quite a bit when he's running at players, except for a few occassions.

One thing that does frustrate me about Anderson is how he'll play the ball out wide and then stop still instead of getting into the box.

He's going to be incredible.

Sometimes I think he's afraid to really move forward, especially in his first couple of games. He always prefered to stop running after a pass, just to protect the back 4 and make sure the other team cant counter attack instead of trying to finish the move off

There'll come a day when Anderson will realise that nobody can actually tackle him. When this happens, he's gonna pick the ball up in his own half, take on about 5 players and score.
Probably...

Can't wait.

That will be the day!

Comparing Anderson and Lucas is like comparing, a Mercedes Benz G-class and a Vauxhall Corsa.
G-class has a small petrol tank? I've only seen Lucas play one full game and he was very good (for 90 minutes as well).

Atm I think Lucas is ahead of Anderson ,specially when it comes to playing for their country.

GTFO.
