Largely because you'd have to admit that Torres is better.
Is that the same Torres that can't score a goal when he's up against some decent defenders.

To be fair its a bit like comparing Torres to forgive me for not thinking of an United equivalent, but Eduardo. With the latter the talent is there but he needs time.
I think its the case with both of them to an extent
Anderson wouldn't have played so much if Scholes hadn't got injured
Reckon more than a handful of games is required really
With a bit of fortune both of them could end up being top, top talents and people might well one day be having this argument when the two of them are considered two of the best players in the world.
Anderson's done exceptionally well, he's clearly got an enormous desire to play and a great talent but let's not go overboard - he's come in, he's done well, now he has to work even harder than before to build on that and he might just be able to make it as one of the game's greats.
The same goes for the Lucas lad, too. Getting a move to the EPL is the easy bit and although (and it pains me to say this) the scousers have picked up a lad with the potential to be world class - that's all it is at the moment, potential.
But then I thought Ben Thornley would captain England and Zidane's lack of pace meant he would never play at the top level, so what do I know?

Anyone else see a little Zidane in Anderson? Creativity, power, directness, desire, they both have it all, oh did I mention talent
Are you saying he's the new Zidane?
I hope so.
Mascherano
Seems as though he is more Zidane, than Ronaldinho imo, that said both are world class but anyone who knows anything about anything knows who was better, the question is how good can Anderson get, because I havent seen a CM of his class at his age in years
i hope you are joking.
he couldn't get a game at West Ham.
Cantona struggled to get a regular game at Leeds.
The new Zidane is a curse if you are a liverpool fan
We've had 4 of them
All shite.
beside the point.
the original question was: have you ever seen a South American player settle so quickly?
you said Mascherano, which is quite frankly bollox.
Ah, no I didnt
I was asked who would Lucas play instead of if he were injured, and I replied Mascherano.

Personally I think Mascherano is Liverpool's best player and he has been over this past year

He's a class player.
Plus you can open beer bottles using his teeth.
He certainly didn't show himself as a holding midfielder yesterday.
He got out muscled in pretty much every challenge.
Yeah, I totally rate him as a top class palyer, and am/will laugh my ass off when they don't pay the fee to Kia for him
He's a kid playing against Essien.
He's a kid playing against Essien.
It wasn't just Essien who out muscled him it was pretty much all of the Chelsea players.
He just didn't look like a holding midfielder, he looked much more impressive and comfortable when he had the ball than when he should win it back.
It'll be interesting to compare Lucas, Anderson, Mikel and Fabregas in a couple of years, to see who has become great and who hasn't.
I hope, Anderson >> Fabregas > Milel = Lucas;
I think Anderson = Fabregas >> Mikel = Lucas
i think Anderson will be better than Fabregas. he seems to have more in his locker potentially.
hopefully it pans out that way.
having seen Anderson, I'm convinced there is no player that will faze him....there's a feeling this kid is fearless...he just has no respect for reputation......
for all his ability...what I love about him is his passion and commitment....
the kid was made for Manchester United....
I just wanna say I've no idea who this Lucas is.
do you live in outer mongolia? without a question ATM anderson, in the future who knows?
I havent seen lucas play yet, so i dont know if he's good.... but anderson???
Man..that boy is something, he's only 19, settled in perfectly and has actually made us forget about scholes.
Dont mean to be biased but i think i'd go with the one who's got more playing time.
P.S; it's my first time in the main, and it's a very nice feeling talking with the "big boys"!
Agreed, Essien is that sort of all around midflielfder United were looking for Keane, oh wait they found something better, Anderson
