Anderson Vs Lucas

Yeah he had a better game in the FA cup where we rested players and went through the motions ahead of a CL tie. The only good competitive game I've ever seen him have for you was away v Chelsea a couple of years ago where he played high and sat on Essien.

No United player struggled against you at any point in that game. You were very lucky to escape with a draw.
Anderson ran out of legs in the second half he was blowing like a beached whale for 15 mins before he was hooked. And Vidic got away with a pen as he did the year after and last year.

Don't you just go through the motions in all competitions? You're making up the numbers more than anything these days.

Anderson was part of a dominant midfield against you in the CL too. But yeah, I guess you were just going through the motions of inevitable defeat then too, so it doesn't count either.

That midfield of Anderson, Carrick, Fletcher battered them. Absolutely battered them.

Your midfield that way was Eboué, Fabregas, Gilberto Silva and Hleb with Gallas and Kolo Touré at CB.

Yeah, a reserve team.

He was very, very good in both CL semis against Arsenal, by the way. You should have watched those, at least.... although I don't blame you if you couldn't, wasn't pretty for Arsenal fans.

Anyway, aside from Petes wumming.... do the oppo fans have anything to say about his actual play? You know, aside from the fact that they think he is shite and we should get rid.

You've seen enough to come to that conclusion so why not impart some wisdom and let us know what you think he needs to improve to 'win you over'?

I'm guessing some will say stamina, Hollywood balls, positioning and decision making... things I've seen a drastic improvement in over the last 10 or so months. So what else?

That was just Wenger being dumb, he played Fabregas high in a 4411 and leaving it 2 v 3 in CM. Anderson and Fletcher were actually piss poor in that game, given the amount of good unmarked possession they had in our half.

Yeah they both had a lot of ball in the final third with no pressure and did feck all with it.

Ando's holywood balls used to irk me beyond belief but he's calmed down slightly with them and his passing has become more intelligent.

Position wise, he still has the habit of lazily directing traffic.

Pete is really something else, I mean I encountered WUMming before in other forums but he takes it to a whole new level.

He's not shite he's a very talented player with great physical power but stamina limitations. I don't think he's a CM (positioning, short game, discipline, 90-minute running) nor does he look very good as a wide AM, that leaves him playing in the hole - I don't think he's good enough to play there for you (ignoring that fact that Rooney does).

Fcuk, he's only gone and said something reasonable...

Could he not be the more attackin minded of a midfield 2 (mid to late career scholes)?
Short game is much better so a little work on positioning and stamina....

He is 23 so obviously he can improve all areas of his game...

@Pete...

You were raped and Anderson's performance was a big part of that.

He was our best midfielder on the night.

But yes, we know - going through the motions, Wenger being dumb, it was only against Arsenal etc etc.

So we should just discount it. I mean, it was only a CL semi-final.

6-0 drubbings against Championship teams in the early stages of the Carling Cup are where reputations are really built. Get the feck in.

That was definitely Fletcher.

Yep, we have to go back to 2005 to find the last time your bottlers won something (which you didn't even fecking deserve).

Hahaha wait a minute now, why didn't we deserve it? Be careful here, you surely wouldn't start on with that primary school logic you were harping on about to me before, would you? Whoopsies!

It's amazing how much of a pathetic flog you can come across as. And I love how the fact that you chose to support United somewhere down the line has made you feel so big and validated.

I dunno, I just don't see him as a CM. Compare him with Alex Song who's only a few months older but has been doing it for three years, or Jack or Ramsey. I think you'll let him go and he'll do well for someone else further up the field. This is shit or bust year for him at Man Utd.

I was joking you Ihni binni dimi diniwiny anitaime.

You take the back-and-forth between me and storey far too seriously. Don't take it to heart.

I'm just wumming the wum. So take your little hissy fits elsewhere.

Oh, and we don't all just choose who we support like down under.

Anderson is in the exact same position as Diaby was last season, I'd say.

He's not as talented as Diaby, who is probably the best non-pace dribbler in the league. He does suffer from the same problem of not really having a position though.

Berbatov is comfortably the best non-pace dribbler in the league. He walks past people.

Lucas is doing better at the moment. He has found a role for his club team and performs consistently. He is a starter for Brazil. Anderson is younger and more talented and can still surpass Lucas.

And I agree with Pete that our 3 Brazilians are overrated on the caf. None of them made the squad for Copa America and they all about potential at this stage.

Not getting ahead of Alves and Maicon doesn't make a player over-rated.

Not only isn't he as talented, but he hasn't shown as much of the talent he's got.
