May end up releasing him as I honestly can't see any team forking out cash for him. He has been a massive let-down.
Turns out he was the new Ronaldinho after all.
Send him on loan to Fulham. A pre-season under Felix Magath would do him good.
Time to let him go, doesnt matter what manager united will get. The new permanent manager will freshen up the midfield with quality players. Anderson isnt good enough to just be a squad player, has to go.
You're right. Time to get rid of the chaff and he's top of the list. Had his chance and more than enough time to improve but never shown it. Should have been sold last summer if not before.
1 year. How many years left on his contact? He's probably on about 60k and is barely worth 20k.
Who's going to take him now?
I have been on his case for many years but many bashed me for this.. Can´t say this surprised me one bit.. After he came back from the Brazilian squad that went to the Beijing Olympics the writing was on the wall!
If his wikipedia stats are true he has made 14.8 apps a season in his career, that´s shocking..
Read somewhere recently that this will be the first season in the whole of Ryan Giggs career, where he has made less than 40 appearances.
Injuries didn't help him, but ultimately his lack of work ethic and his inability to control his eating habits are the reason for his career or lack of. I think it's a disgrace to be honest. For someone to have such ability and then waste it because of a lack of effort.
I would also argue that having a poor work ethic and diet made him more likely to get injured and prolonged his recovery each time.
I had my first ever serious football injury a year ago and never really appreciated how hard you have to work in physiotherapy to get fit again. If you don't put the effort in, it can add weeks or months to the time you're out of the game.
I'm not sure if there really is a need to feel sorry for him, I mean he spent a big chunk of his career at one of the biggest clubs in the world and had a shot of making it at the highest level.I feel sorry for him. He hasn't really managed to reach, and maintain, a decent level. There would be a side in Brazil who would take him though I would imagine?

LoL. Agree.Send him on loan to Fulham. A pre-season under Felix Magath would do him good.
He will go back to Brazil. A player like Anderson who struggles with his weight and fitness is only going to get worse and worse. It will deteriorate as it does with so many Brazilian players.
Unbelievable to think how talented he was back in Brazil and then when he joined FC Porto. He won the European Golden boy and look destined for the very top. I always struggled to understand why we bought him 3months after he had just recovered from a broken leg without showing any true recovery so I suppose you could always say it was a risk.
Signing one of the best young AM's and trying to convert him into another DM was another problem. He was never going to quite adapt to that role, his passing was too inconsistent and he could go missing at times.
Hmmm... Just checked wiki and indeed it's not. Must be 30 appearances/season so.
Hope he saved that money well, because he'll soon be playing in league 2 for peanuts.

I always find it hard to believe that he was that highly rated, even though I know he was. I can't really understand how he looked like such a promising attacking midfielder when with us his passing and shooting were consistently really poor and his dribbling wasn't special. The only thing I see in him is that he has a good burst of pace and likes to run through the midfield and at defenders sometimes. He will go back to Brazil. Perhaps but I'd imagine he's not the hardest worker there is either. Happy-go-lucky which helps when you're injured a lot but he didn't seem very determined or he wouldn't have been overweight so much.Anderson failed for a number of reasons, but in his defence, I'd attribute his injuries to his lack of growth. He had many good games, he did and does have a lot of talent, but that knee injury against Wolves was a horror, and really set him back. Beyond that, it's been niggle after niggle. I don't doubt his much - argued indiscipline, however I simply can't believe that Sir Alex and our team of medical professionals would allow that kind of thing to go on for so long. Rooney, for example, has always irritated Sir Alex because of his well - known indiscipline, that's no secret.
I don't think rotation did him any favours. He'd regularly find himself dropped for a 36 year old Scholes after a good outing, which was never of benefit. And then there's his actual fitness. I could be wrong, but I'm certain I read that he had the lowest Co2/O2 levels at the club upon arrival, which would explain his poor lack of stamina.
Then there's the probable fact that he just didn't take it all that seriously, which he himself has admitted. I like the guy, and I know there's still a good player in there, but it's a sorry story when you consider he promised so much.
