well didnt MEN report he was at carriginton, which seems unlikly now considering we didnt even have a deal with the club in place?
In fairness, Craig Norwood who works for the club said Herrera was at Carrington yesterday. Bigger question is why the club (Woodward) allowed that without permission from Bilbao and the transfer being air tight.

of course he f*cking saw it coming. You think if we all know about this stuff that he wouldn't? Christ.
If it falls through he'll end up looking like a right div. Let's hope for his case you're right.

Ah I knew this transfer wouldn't be complete without the 3 imposters.. Now is their time to shine!! :nervous:

It would be a massive issue for him to be there without permission. It's clearly ok.

Fecking Bilbao.

Frustrating of late that we seem to get held to ransom over players.

Bilbao are not a normal club. Their Basque only policy means they'll fight tooth and nail to keep players, even more so now they're in the Champions League. We shoudn't be bringing players around Carrington without first being damn sure that the transfer is done.

Maybe ourselves and Bayern should Hoover up all the best Basque youth players and leave Bilbao with the dregs.

BBC reporting that the 36 mil was rejected. Will we go in for another bid.

Once again, what does this have to do with them rejecting our bid? Clearly Bilbao are trying to make this as complicated as possible for us (just like the Martinez deal) - can't really fault United/Woodward for much imo.

Bids are no use. We either buy him out for 50 million euros through the league or forget it.

What I'm saying is, we shouldn't be bringing players for medicals and having team photographs taken when they're not ours. It's still June, that stuff can be ironed out later. The transfer and making sure it goes through is all that matters. If this fails it's on Woodward.

Imagine in the next few mins, United put on the website and mentioned that we have activate the buy-out clause including taxes and official confirmation of Herrera becoming our player. That will stun Bilbao with our efficiency.

wow clam down. i did say "if"
it just seems off that news was that this transfer was so far along, him even been at carrigton, which seems odd if an agreement with bibao wasn't even reached.
of course the deal could be miles apart and the media just spinning nonsense to us for two days. which seems to be the case.

now i guess woodward has to show he was expecting this, and has a plan to deal with it. show he has become more wise to transfer dealing then he was last summer.

Yep. We've basically said here is your 36m, you'll end up getting that anyway lets make things easy. Bilbao don't negotiate to them it's about pride and all that shit. They're forcing us to activate the clause, just because.
Exactly.

Not really, Bayern avoided that tax hit, so it's pretty obvious that's what we're working on, ie, these so called paperwork issues.
Presumably that's what United are doing now. Triggering the clause by depositing the money through lawyers to the Spanish Federation.

We would be in some serious trouble if we did.

If he has been to Carrington, we've gone past the bid rejected issue, and have worked out the other way. We wouldn't have him at Carrington unless it was all above board.
