Ander Herrera is a Manchester United Player!

Has nobody managed to sneak a picture, at all? What have they done with him?

Impressed by his tackling stats. He had a similar number of tackles in the 12/13 season, 115 total tackles in 12/13, 103 in 13/14. Though balls and Key Passes look good. Whether LvG will allow him to take as many shots at United will remain to be seen.

But whoever was the numpty that said he'd be a squad player...

Carrick:
1st = 9
2nd = 5
3rd = 0

Herrera
1st = 10
2nd = 3
3rd = 3

Cleverley
1st = 1
2nd = 7
3rd = 9

Fellaini
1st = 3
2nd = 5
3rd = 7

Anyone would compare favourably to that abomination of a midfield.

Surely we will announce this now? Right?

Dragging this out until Friday or possibly beyond is not what Woody wants to do. Apparently Hererra's clause will increase by 6million euros in July which is not long after Friday.

I think the deal is done..but they just won't announce it till friday. I mean LVG was obviously on board bloody ages before they announced it. Not sure why...perhaps it's Woody's happy day...

I think a lot of people are worried about his passing. He hasn't got a great range of passing as some here are suggesting, he's pretty inconsistent with his passing and it can look untidy at times.

One of the reasons is that he doesn't play it safe, he's a forward thinking player with rooneysque attitude(on the field of-course). He chases his man mentally if he gives it away. He's always first to the 50-50 balls.

One of his strongest attributes is that he is an extremely intelligent footballer, he reads the game well too which often go unnoticed because of his explosiveness. He is a brave player.

I still can't believe we are signing him. What a player we'll have in our hands, so glad.

As if we're going to announce it Friday but forget to sign the paperwork until Monday? 'Ah feck, knew I'd forgotten something...'

He doesn't even compare that favorably according to those stats.

Played more minutes than our lads, played less passes, with less accuracy, got dispossessed a lot more.

How does he hit so many crosses? was he their set piece taker or does he float out to the wing? Last thing I want to see after Moyes is more inaccurate crosses.

De Gea's played like 10 mins for Spain, why the feck are people using not playing for Spain as justification for not being good enough FFS.

You can only play 1 goalkeeper in football though, while the rest of Spain's team is made up of midfielders, would have thought they'd have given him a go at some stage..

Yeah waiting for LVG was a bit painful, but inevitable at the same time, we screwed this transfer up 10 months ago haha, but hopefully you're right.

Also, Friday is the break between group stage matches and the round of 16 at the World Cup. So United would take the spotlight on that day.

Kind of sad if that's what we're planning to do, to be completely honest. I'm really happy we've signed a player of Herrera's calibre but it's not as if we're unveiling the surprise re-signing of Ronaldo ffs.

Maybe Woody is going to introduce him to Luke tomorrow and they'll both be announced on Friday

Del Bosque is very coservative and he loves his old players, and only rarely gives the chance to the youngsters. De Gea wouldn't have been in world cup if it wasn't for the injury of Valdez.

Anyway, their list of midfielders consist of: Busquets, Martinez, Alonso, Xavi, Iniesta, Fabregas, Mata, Silva, Cazorla, Thiago Alcantara, Koke, Jesus Navas. From those 12 only 5 play at maximum.

From that

It sounds as if Moyes wasn't willing to sign anyone other than those he knew; Fellaini and Baines.
Not true, he said he didnt want Fellaini to be his big first signing (same as Herrera) but circumstances forced his hand
