I wonder what it means for Nick Powell now that Herrera has been signed
It is customary to do things after the closing bell, but there is no prohibition on announcing news during market hours. Furthermore:

true. Im just worried that young english players that have always got a chance at United slowly might be given less and less time to prove themselves because of what city psg madrid and chelsea are doing to the game. if we are going to compete with them in the market, i hope english talents dont fall by the wayside as a consequence. carrick and fletcher are no more first choice and shouldnt expect to be given their age and their performances lately, but young players at least should have hope of getting a few games. I dont see Zaha and Powell getting a look in if we buy foreign players to get back into the CL as soon as possible.I'd be more worried than some of the midfielders in our first team squad than Nick Powell, who is still very young.
seems imminent. im only going by the media outlets etc. same as every one else.He's been signed? Am I missing some important facts here?

We'll find out in the next 30-35 minutesNo official announcement today?
There might not be a prohibition but practically you want anything that may impact on the share price to be given to the market at a time when they an digest it, not react immediately. As markets often react badly immediately, as they don't like change.
Excuse me if I'm being stupid here but would it not be defined as an acquisition?
Against Aston Villa away.Cleverley scored a goal?
He needs a premier league club loan. He's not quite there yet.I wonder what it means for Nick Powell now that Herrera has been signed
As I said, it is customary to do things after the closing bell, but an announcement like the Herrera signing can be made at any time, whether the NYSE is open or closed. Significant material activity, like a change in senior management, needs to be announced immediately.
No.

disposessed by opponent?Impressed by his tackling stats. He had a similar number of tackles in the 12/13 season, 115 total tackles in 12/13, 103 in 13/14. Though balls and Key Passes look good. Whether LvG will allow him to take as many shots at United will remain to be seen.
But whoever was the numpty that said he'd be a squad player...
Carrick:
1st = 9
2nd = 5
3rd = 0
Herrera
1st = 10
2nd = 3
3rd = 3
Cleverley
1st = 1
2nd = 7
3rd = 9
Fellaini
1st = 3
2nd = 5
3rd = 7
Dribbled past, perhaps?What does "was dribbled" mean?
Tackled by an opponent? Unless you're asking why it's so high, and I'd imagine because Ander actually takes players on, and plays a little higher up the field.disposessed by opponent?
Atleast those two are at the fringes. I dont think anyones place in the starting 11 is guarenteed - not carrick and not fletcher. but it doesnt seem he will even get a chance this season either. as someone suggested, probably needs to go on loan. only reason i brought it up is because i expected him to be in a herrera sort of mould, a no. 8.think it's more likely to impact Cleverley & Anderson than Powell

If they weren't limited by the tactics and moyes, we would be seeing a different picture.I don't think there's much point in comparing stats with our midfielders last season. Honestly believe that a huge handful of midfielders would show our midfielders up in stats.
ah i see...i got confused why lost posession and dispossed were separate..but obv they should be..my bad..and i figured that would be the reason. he plays in a more advanced position. more of his passes must be forward as well, therefore a poorer passing % to a lot of other players hes being compared to.Tackled by an opponent? The point I was making is that it impacts upon these announcements, whether by proscription or custom. @LonelyFire was suggesting it had nothing to do with it. But it clearly is a consideration to sync it with out of hours trading even if it's not specifically prohibited.

Ah okay. I'd be suspicious that such things are actually recorded
Damn you. beat me by a minute!
Agreed. Don't think Carrick is mobile and dynamic enough to be an everyday starter if we want to challenge for the title. If I'm a City or Chelsea supporter or manager and see a midfield with Mata, Januzaj, Carrick, Kagawa, and Herrera as well as a defensive unit including an 18 year old LB and CB's who have barley played together I'd be extremely confident.
Sides like that who have a ton of pace, technique, and power will run over that midfield.
I love stats. Statsy stats stats, down into my belly
If there is no news in the next 15 minutes I'm calling it a day.
