Ander Herrera is a Manchester United Player!

I'll admit to being a bit of a crap transfer muppet but I genuinely had no idea that the beeb were supposed to have this 100% accuracy record on all things transfer-related.

It certainly looks as though those Spanish reports are being rehashed. Will cool my jets until I see a reputable journo put his name to it and refer to sources at United.

Marca saying 4 year deal. Poor Moyes we sack him for someone better and then that person signs his targets from last year.

What does the defence score comprise of? It's interesting how his is so high and everyone else's is in minus.

I hope you're not questioning United's new signing with that comment, because according to that chart Ander Herrera is the best midfielder in the history of world football.

I repeat again BBC don't post stories before getting confirmation from the club itself. Anybody who thinks that BBC is reporting only on Spanish Reports without confirming it with the club is extremely wrong.

If it's on the BBC it's true as far as I am concerned. They are the most conservative when reporting actual transfer news and wouldn't have done so without confirming with very high ranking officials within the club.

 Come on, be fair. We waited so long for a midfielder, only to get Fellaini. We're excited.

This is good to read. Could we see a revival of Cleverley besides Herrera and a defensive midfielder in a midfield three? Would that have enough creative prowess? Also, would that provide us goals from the midfield? A few pages ago, somebody said that he is not good at taking shots and scoring goals.

I don't think there's any chance of that happening seeing as we're overstocked with excellent footballers who like to play as a #10.

De Gea won't be happy about this. He might try and get involved in his bromance with Mata!

What am I saying? Agent Dave probably handled this transfer himself!

a spanish midfielder who is not afraid of getting into tackles, that's a good thing for a start.

maybe we can also make a deal for strootman in late august, he is going to be fit around october, so that's just under 2 months of action that he is going to be missing.plus we can use him in november and december where the fixtures starts to pile (oh no we are not in europe anymore). but that if everything went right of course, no way the club is going to risk 20-30 million signing an injured player no matter how good he is, we all understand the risk involved.

They don't but if you were to get even marginally excited over any of the rumours, the BBC are pretty much the one.

So we have to buy defensive midfielder as well. Carrick can be relied upon but we have to build a new and younger side.

Maybe he doesn't score many goals or take a lot of shots but the way i see it is that if he can help get the ball moving into attacking areas quicker than our current midfield crop... we wil score more goals as a team so the fact he may not score many himself doesnt worry me.

Agree with you. I guess that it will be Herrera as a starter with Cleverley as his backup (if Van Gaal decides to keep him). They are both similar players (I haven't watched much of Herrera from last season when he played as attacking midfielder so I am basing this on the previous two seasons) and basically Herrera is like Cleverley on style except that does everything better. His passes are good, his movements are excellent, as there is his tackling.

That's Cesc, mate.

The BBC have an 100% record on stories like the one they posted. They need to have two separate sources before an article goes to press, one of which is usually a briefing from the club itself.

This is done. Absolutely no doubt.

The fact they have a gossip column is completely unrelated to this.

They really aren't, at all.

Couldn't vouch for the 100% accuracy but they've pretty much gone balls-out on the story saying its a certainty, no the usual 'according to sources'.

He has played as an attacking midfielder all season long, I am not sure it is the best signing but if it becomes reality I hope he proofs me wrong.

His passing accuracy is really poor, even as a CM he always averaged 80% passing accuracy without too many touches and passes per game. The only trait he has of absolute world-class quality for a DM is his tackling, he is brilliant in that regard but I think he is better as an AM than as a CM/DM.

Bit of a scary transfer if true, he is far from the absolute world-class CM's we should be after but he has all the potential to be a world-class CM if he hits another gear as well.

Almost. There.

If Jamie Jackson confirms it I'm speed-dialling the Samaritans

A midfielder! A f*cking midfielder! And a fancy Spanish one at that! Oh, mercy!

No, but it is very exciting. Can't wait to see him in the famous red shirt.

Kept seeing this last year, but I never understood how, cleverly is way too passive to play like herrera, who seems to throw himself into tackles and really get stuck in.

Yeah, they're nothing alike and Herrera is a superior player in pretty much every sense.

It's that time of year to get the chrome add on that informs me the second manutd.com updates.

Muppet move definitely activated.

Jesus fecking Christ that is honestly the most annoying music I've ever heard.
Haha I have to watch on mute at work so that helped.

Honestly he looks absolutely fantastic, I have to agree with someone else in here that he has some tekkers on him and I too didnt expect it.

My overall feeling after watching that video was...This is a United midfielder, industrious, smart under pressure and very nimble, give him two years under LVG and I fully expect him to be one of the best in the world.

Still in shock!!! Come on, get it done already! I know it all just started yesterday night, but still!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well that post rained on my parade a bit. :(
