Ander Herrera is a Manchester United Player!

AS reported that we had agreed a deal for Miranda before the World Cup started.
Well maybe we did and we're just waiting... :wenger:
Wouldn't surprise me if we did actually sign Miranda though, we need a defender like him who is in his prime, experienced, very good most of all, even if it is at a pretty big price.

He's how Cleverley should have developed after his debut season.

Edit: He's like a better version of Jonathan de Guzman thinking about it, good through the centre of midfielder, pops up with goals, good passing range and can play deeper too. He's more mobile than the Dutchman but not as good at set pieces.

Cleverley? De Guzman?

Well thats killed my boner.

Where's the Youtube video of the season just gone? Stop slacking.

Let's hope it's true, I've heard from plenty of journos that he's on track to be a top class player.

I know that this means feck all really, but I've a mate that supports Barca and watches La Liga religiously and he reckons Herrera is the real deal. You know how fussy Barca fans are too.

This would be the perfect transfer story. Nothing, then boom we've signed him. I call bullshite.

He's a good player who would be our best midfielder by a mile. Not sure if that's a great accolade nowadays, but he wouldn't look out of place in any midfield in the world, I think.

Plenty of transfers come out of nowhere like this, in fact, this is kind of the way it was before Moyes and his crew polluted the club. We did things silently.

Some basque "expert" on twitter is saying it's bollocks. Tre Atkinson.

I didn't realise he'd be 25 by the start of the season, he looks younger.

Any Spanish fans view on his international prospects? Why has he never been given a chance for Spain after impressing in youth teams?

edit: that went well...

Are we really changing thread titles over some twitter bollocks? 'Reports from Spain'? What next? "Fecal matter reports Deal almost done".. The caf has sunk to a new low. Off to the 'what we hate about the game' thread.

I would hope it's true because whenever I've seen him play he's stood out. Very good engine, great at spotting a pass early on. Often plays as the most advanced of a three though.

I'd call bullshit simply because of what happened last summer and because AS appear to be the equivalent of the Mirror.

But again looking past the inflated premium it would take to secure his services, I'd be delighted.

I really hope it's bullshit, don't think he's good enough... well yeah he's better than Cleverley and Fellaini last season, but not that much....

You are just in the door, surely you remember where it is?

Twitter bollocks?

It's not fecking Indy reporting this you know. Get a grip.

Don't know how he can be more of an all rounder than Oscar. He's the very definition of that term.

Judging by his YouTube highlights (lol, I know) he looks more like a creative, attack minded Mata type then the bulldog we should be after like a Strootman.

Fair enough, I was going to edit my post to take that out, because as you say Oscar's very good at pressing, tackling and is versatile.
If you put Oscar in centre midfield you'd get something like what you get with Herrera, but I'd say Herrera's more energetic and more athletic. Both are very intense when pressing and snap at the opponents heels.
He runs a bit like Joe Allen too actually.

He's not really like Mata. He's played further forward as a number 10 other the last couple of years, but he's a centre midfielder. The game at Old Trafford (available on Youtube ;)) he played deep and broke forward.

And if anything he's more dogged than Strootman, who's more like Carrick. I certainly wouldn't describe Strootman as a 'bulldog'.

This could be be but why would 4-5 different Spanish sources come out with it at midnight... Seems a bit too unusual to just brush off as bs

If I remember right FCBarca didn't seem to rate him much last summer when we were linked to him but a few other posters did (along with journalists like Hunter who said he'd be a potential future captain for us if we got him).

I'd love to know what posters who've watched him regularly think of him now?

Significantly better than the aforementioned, albeit playing in a much better system in a different role. The last game I remember seeing him in was vs Sevilla who aren't too bad, and he was just all over the place, doing everything, defending like a seasoned DM, popping ballsy passes off at every opportunity, contributing with a goal. He's no Iniesta but he's got more ability than you appear to give him credit for.
