Well evidently many of you have anti-Herrera agendas (sarcasm).

Thought he was bright today so far, despite if being a poor half on the whole.

Along with Blind he has comfortably been our best player today, he seems like the only one who is willing to try risky passes and to create.

Pretty sad really that despite this there are some posting here who are that keen to see him fail they appear to watch an entirely different game than everyone else.

I think he's played well, but I think a midfield two with him partnering Fellaini is doing neither of them any favours. He's still done okay though.

We've been completely crap and the reason is the same as last week, the Two central mids and Rooney have been gash.

Dont be daft fellaini blind bailly yes herrera has been alright but to say he is the best player is a stretch

He's been the only one trying penetrating passes, and he's pulled a few off. Given that Blind's long balls have been our only other route forward, he's our best attacking player probably

He's been playing as the deeper of the two midfielders. His role probably is ball circulation. And whenever he's tried to pass the ball forward, he's at least found his mark.

1 game doesn't make a season. But I find his performance today quite productive and good. Surprising that others don't find it that way. Don't understand what is expected or what is thought of to be a brilliant performance considering his tactical position.

he was easily among our better players. 2 beautiful passes and defensive contribution, although started the game not so well

Who was better?
Valencia and Mata. The defence in general have been better. He's been part of a midfield that completely failed to control the midfield for the majority of the half. What has he done exactly?

Herrera has been better than Mata, quite easily.

Why would anyone be keen to see him fail? He's a very likeable guy off the pitch and talks a good game too off it. I'd be delighted to see him thrive but I simply don't think he's good enough to be starting for us. He doesn't offer enough.

I don't think he has. Ultimately Mata has laid on our best chance and scored the goal. That's what he's on the pitch to do. I don't think Herrera has done what a midfielder is there to do.

As I said he's the only one playing with any creativity. Great ball instead to Valencia for Rooneys shot, beautifully driven pass into Martial and a better touch and we would've been 2 on 2 and very unlucky with the cross for Fellaini back post, it was his pass trying to force play that led to the goal.

He's been decent today, hasn't been recklessly giving away free kicks and has passed forwards with purpose on occasion. He has suffered the most from van Gaal. He has had it drilled into him that he must pass the ball safe 90% of the time. I'm not his biggest fan but I'm looking forward to seeing him when he has had that trained out of him, there might be a good player in there.

The defence hardly had any work to do because we are defending as an entire team. I am fan of Mata but apart from the goal he was more of a problem than our best player. Valencia hardly did anything, I am not sure why he deserves praise?

He is our most involved player by a mile, goal came after his pass and our other best chance came after his good pass to Valencia. Also had few nice passes including the one to Martial and was bit unlucky with one or two crosses that were excellent ideas. Hardly did anything wrong defensively either.

 some people here, think he was very good...

YES sometimes it's a bit annoying to see player passing sideways and back but he's really quick at doing it and sometimes it's a must for setting up the tempo. Mourinho obviously must have told players to have one or two touches and make runs to start the game quickly. No-nonsense approach but it works in away games...

Herrera, apart being our metronome, he played a nice through ball to Valencia and played two great crosses from the deep. I think that counts as three chances created.. and apart that he lumped the ball in a good area before the goal so he showed he's not shy to make those passes, always with his head up, the pass lacked a bit of quality but I liked the intent.. and we scored a goal..

playing in 10men with the useless player as a no10 at his back, we did pretty well in midfield. i.e. we were solid and are in control of the game

Feck knows, it's full of people here doing just that though. It's like being right about a player is more important than the player actually performing for us, it's sad.

No, it was the most obvious pass on and he had a 20 yard gap to stick it through. Any one of us could have made that pass.

Mata Was lucky with the goal. He did nothing else in the game. Herrera has been more involved and played a couple of brilliant passes.

He has done pretty well. Maybe Mourinho sees a little bit of Fabregas in him.

Will make way for Pogba from the next match but has not been too bad today. He played a good ball to Martial and has been tidy on the ball.

We have people who enjoy Schneiderlin passing it to his first teammate game saying he shouldn't be responsible for our attacking game criticising Herrera in the same position even though he created more than our entire team in this half. Great stuff.

So frustrating that he's capable of playing those defence splitting passes as he's shown a few times this game yet he seems so reluctant to at times.

He's been the most positive out of the 3 midfielders. Decent performance so far.

You could easily say the same thing for the people claiming he's been our best player.

20 yard gap  he weighted it perfectly. Even with that removed the point still stands, he's the only one out there trying it play decisive passes.

You don't understand the difference in trying to find Positives in our own players performances than being hell bent on proving he's shit?

Made a couple of good passes, but he should be a lot more inventive when on the ball. Always looks for the sideway-pass, same does Rooney. Van Gaal must have really gotten to his head.

Valencia and Fellaini to name two.

Fellaini did absolutely nothing, I know you like to praise him more than others but he was completely invisible today. Valencia is having good game but he is hardly visible either.

You said there's people that want to prove they're right about a player and letting it cloud what they are actually see on the pitch. That's happening on the other side of the coin too.
