He played one good pass to Valencia. Mata scored and laid on our only other chance. As an attacker he did his job. Herrera hasn't. We were completely overrun in midfield for most of the game and barely passed the ball in the opening 25 minutes. It's Herrera's job to get the ball to our attacking players and he failed for the most part.
He also played a very good pass to Martial.
Oh right. Then he wasn't part of a midfield missing in action for most of the half then.

What exactly Fellaini did in this game apart from his aerial presence, please do enlighten me?
He wasn't, he had more passes and touches than anyone else by a mile. He can't keep the possession all by himself.
Been defensively good and solid. Done his job very well.

Yeah it is to an extent, not in this case though. Bitterness toward our own players is far worse than viewing them favourably.

He's been brilliant, really intelligent and instinctive. But reading match day thread made me realize he'll be shat upon in this thread after the game just because of one defensive error which didn't cost us anyway.

Mixed game. Some good, some bad. When he's further upfront and positive, he's great. But too often he is weak and negative in his play, hardly moves with the ball either

Better 2nd half for me. Thought Fellaini had more say in the game though.
I thought he did very well, much better than any of last seasons crud.
Both him and Fellaini had impressive games. Just shows what can happen when you have the right manager. Our squad is looking really impressive and the midfield options will serve us well. It's the first game of the season, so to get a result like that will make people take notice.
He just doesn't convince me. Maybe he can prove me wrong but I would much rather see Pogba in the side than him.

I thought he had a good second half. TBH i'll like to see him and Pogba start. I think Herrera could do a job as the DMF
He was good but plays the ball backwards or sideways too many times
I think Mourinho will love him. He never stops working for the team and that is something he likes to see in his teams.

He did ok, doesn't have the passing game to play as deep with another CM that has no passing game either, but showed plenty of energy in closing down.
I agree. I hope this is remnants of Van Gaal's 'philosophy'. He never stroke me like a safe type of player in his first season.
I expect him to become more positive in his play as the season goes on.
He's very good player, people calling him Spanish Cleverley are just stupid.. he was tidy all game and at the right moment started to be more adventurous in a midfield two.. played two great crosses from the deep position in the first half and a nice through ball to Valencia, played fantastic ball to Valencia to switch the play, imo much better and nicer than any of the two made by Rooney, and the commentators didnt give a shit unlike with Rooney.. was full of running and always available, won the ball on couple of occasions too..
He's adding good balance to the team, like someone said he's not brilliant in anything but very good at so many stuff, allrounders like him are always welcomed in big teams and if he gets good run of games and mourinho unteaches him what Van Gaal thought him he will be even better, not mentioning that we haven't even unleashed Paul fecking Pogba and replaced that useless piece of shit as a no10, It's always better to play with 11 men than in 10 like today...
It was a good 7/10 display from Ander today, even more for an away game and first game to the season
