Another goal that came from him nicking the ball away from an opposition player.

Like with his ability to compete in aerial duels, he's deceptively good at that.

How can a manager with top top experience like ten Hag couldn't see Amad potential having managing him for years?

When it took only a few games for the new guy to unleash it.

This is why some of us were so rabid about him not playing at basically any opportunity he could have, btw.

'Amad hasn't done enough with his performances', 'He has been used as much as possible compared to other players, "Look a quote by Fletcher saying he wasn't up to speed", "He's not that great anyways", "His loan at Sunderland was okay" etc etc ad nauseam.

He seems perfectly suited to Amorims right wing back role. Sensational pressing and decision making today

Will he even stay, though, or did we leave it too late? Bound to be a lot of interest in him now.

He’s reminding me of Salah at the moment in one part of his game. He’s tenacious with his pressing but he does it with an element of guile and he pickpockets at breakneck speed. A lot of players try it and it results in cheap free kicks but they have a nack of doing it just clean enough and then showing a clean set of heels.

Yup. Couldn't believe there were people saying ETH was right to keep him out.
We should just be happy we changed managers before ten Hag ran him out of the club. In Erik's last game he looked done when he was coming on as a last resort sub.

The Antony transfer really was bad for Ten Hag. Didn't deliver for him, and Ten Hag also probably felt close to him and wanted to make the transfer work - which is the only reason I can think of that would explain how he was favoured over Amad.

Imagine spending 80 million on a player when you had this guy. The more I think of what happened under ETH the more angry I get. He should have been launched out of the club in the summer on a rocket.

Him and Mazraoui must have the highest football IQs in the team.

Also a very selfless player, he makes runs for his teammates.

Sublime to watch. Hopefully he can take this from a purple patch to a consistent run of form. He's been great for weeks now.

EtH was too stubborn trying to make Amad play “his way”, wrong role, wrong tasks

Really excellent performance today following on from looking like our most dangerous player last week. Hopefully Amorim is the coach to get the massive talent Amad has out of him on a consistent basis.

He’s destined to be a star and the crown jewel of this team. Great performance. There’s just something about him that you don’t see in other ‘prospects’.

Loads of our fans didn’t rate him either.

I’ve never felt so vindicated for going to war against some around here.

Guy was so obviously better and more talented than many of our options in recent years yet got a pitiful amount of chances. Sackable offense when you realize Antony was preferred

Our best player in this position, in this formation.

Still think he'll convince the manager to use him behind the striker after he's finished giving wingers like Rashford chances in the role. But he's a menace at right wingback as well.

ETH judgement of talent was dubious.
Probably like @Globule said about EtH and Antony. But it's not like EtH played Antony all the time. At some point, Antony was frozen out also.

And it's hard to imagine a pro like EtH could totally miss out a big and obvious talent like Amad.

Excellent game today. Everton really looked terrified of him, it makes it look easy when you have a player with Amad's persistence and decision making. I'm so thankful we've now got a manager who isn't neglecting his quality.

This.

But anyone who has a basic understanding of football and watched his development at Sunderland could have seen this coming.

I guess he'll be forced to do it sooner, once Yoro is fit to play and Mazraoui can be switched to WB (either side)

What's scary is he has almost no holes in his game. Sure he can lose concentration and be sloppy with his passing/finishing but he really can do it all. Workrate, pace, technique, balance (how strong is he!!) and above all a great footballing iq. Just 22 as well. Manage him well and we've got a top class player, i hope Omar and his boys are already shoving that long term contract in his face.

95% of the time a young player doesn't start there is a good reason for it.

But Amad belong to the other 5%. What makes it extra puzzling is that his competition was shocking, so there's not many excuses left for Ten Hag.

EtH should be investigated for not playing Amad, such an unreal player both on and off the ball. His pressing is very good, his decision making, weight on pass is probably the best in our squad.

Ten Hag really gave Antony, Pellistri and Omari Forson a chance before this guy.

One of the things that really makes me struggle with rating ETH at all is seemingly how terrible his ability to identify talent and traits is.
