Yes it’s in the thread already. It just displays to me the complete lack of control that runs throughout the club. You just don’t get this stuff in successful well run teams.Did Amad like some tweet he shouldn’t have liked?
It might be frustrating to be a squad member in Ten Hag team. You have team members who never get substituted regardless of score or performance. in rare occasions, you will get those odd three minutes where you have limited time to make an impact. even if you impress, the next game you get 0 minutes to at least build a momentum
Not sure why so many are clamoring for him to be in...he's pretty average.

Thing is, we don't need to see more of Antony to understand he's not part of the best 11. It's Garnacho on the right and Rashford left. Antony is not good enough for this league, but as others have said... He's ten hags guy. He knows he can't just bench him for Amad because it's an admission that his 100m signing is a massive flop, and ten hag already knows that he's basically got 0 chances left. So he'll stick with his original call and whatever happens, happens at this pointIm not too fussed about him not being played tonight.
To some extent, this game was the first time Ten Hag was able to field his almost strongest 11, and it’s natural he wants them to play together as long as possible.
He most likely wanted to give a taste of the cup to Forson, something he doesn’t need to do with Amad.
If anything I think he’ll play Amad much more in the league and we’ll start to see more rotation between him and Antony now that the latter is fully back in the squad
There were plenty of stories from Ajax how fringe players/squad players were essentially ignored under Ten Hag. You'd hope he would learn how to manage a squad when he has to manage a bigger one in a bigger league, but I don't think we saw evidence of that. This sums it up for any academy or young player with ETH. Another example was Hannibal, who had his best game ever for United. He gets dropped or does not play for the next six weeks.
Sure, there are occasional games when he plays a few academy players, but that is not his modus operandi. He will only play them because he doesnt have a choice. He really isn't a youth developer—someone who will have a plan for them and a pathway. If there is one reason to get rid of ETH this is it.
I predicted this a month ago. He has to play Antony for political reasons ( ie justify his ridiculous fees), plus he is under so much pressure to win every game now that he cannot afford to play untested players in his eyes. If he had the balls, he should have started Amad.
ETH is bald & ball-less.

I don't know who's more disappointed. Us or Sunderland fans.
Subbing Forson on was political decision. He is stalling on signing new contract and subbing him on could give him impression that he has a path towards the first team and help with him signing a new contract. When that will be signed no more appearances for him. It's insane to me that Forson is getting subbed in ahead of Diallo. EtH loves to make a rod for his own back with these baffling decisions.
YepHave you actually seen him play?

But Antony is genuinely one of the worst attacking players in the league, he wastes so many good opportunities.I still think he's a better option than Amad. He can handle the physical side of things and put a shift in going the other way. I'd love to be proven wrong but Amad looks like he doesn't have the physicality and doesn't look like he's sufficiently brilliant technically to make up for that. Reckon he'll end up being a reasonable player in Spain or Italy (again) but I don't see him making it in the Prem.
He uses the squad in an incredibly erratic way, I have lost count of the number of players who have been ignored for periods than thrown in at times of desperation its almost as if he has no idea what he is doing (almost). If you are in his favoured few it's very hard to be droppedIt’s a strange theory, but doesn’t really fit with reality, seeing as Antony has been benched already several times this season, recently to a 19 year old LW for his RW debut. Yesterday he scored one, assisted one, was involved in one, and was replaced by another 19 year old, who really is the one Amad could have realistically have a claim tobe ahead of yesterday.
Again a theory that is pushed onto a reality that isn’t of the same shape. To say that this season has seen underuse of fringe players at United is just silly. Every fringe player have played more than they could have expected to. The main need this season has really been to playe more games with the same players, to get the basics going again, but this hasn’t been possible. Again, yesterday Amad, who is wanted by some and hoped for by me, was behind Omari Forson in line. I don’t know why, I just know that people coming now to claim that it has to do with ‘not using fringe players’, ‘protection of Antony’ or as others, ‘not giving youth a chance’, are not looking at what really happened.
Antony is awful, beyond a joke. He kills attacks. he cant beat players, he cant cross. He has one move. Running a bit doesnt alter that. Opposition teams know he offers no threat and will cut inside so can double up elsewhere. A threatening winger needs two defenders to cover, Antony barely needs one. Anyone who thinks he was 'decent' against a league two side needs to get some perspective. But Antony is genuinely one of the worst attacking players in the league, he wastes so many good opportunities.
I don't really see how amad can be judged so harshly when he has barely had an opportunity and the bar is set so low it wouldn't take much for him to be am improvement on Antony. To me his technique looks good and he can shoot reliably well even if his physicality needs some work
Antony should never start a match for us again. He is that bad. I am sick to death of people defending him. He is an embarrassment and offers us nothing. Its time to try something else and move on. It's hard to ignore those "ETH has his favorites" voices. I am sick to death of ETH and his defenders. He was out thought yesterday by a league 2 manager and does NOTHING. Its pathetic. This sums it up for any academy or young player with ETH. Is Amad having a moan when this is only the second game of the season he's been available for? Having got minutes in the first game he was available for.
These boys have developed some serious attitude problens.
Hasn't he literally just returned from injury that's kept him out for the majority of the past 6 months? He's barely kicked a ball.Humiliating for Amad that he’s benched for Antony. Time for him to leave the club.
Oh bore off. Antony got a fecking goal and an assist yesterday. We should be happy when our struggling players show signs of improvement, even if it doesn't mean they are suddenly the answer. Some people are so driven by their own agenda I don't see how they derive any pleasure from following us. Very weird.Antony should never start a match for us again. He is that bad. I can only assume you never played a half decent standard of football or are about 10. We were playing a league 2 team. He had time and space to pass squarely 10 yards to Bruno who hit a sweet shot. He then passed into an empty goal from 7 yards. that was it. There was one moment where an oppo defender passed it to him. He was in space and we had a counter set up. He then passed it 10 yards straight back to newport. He cant beat players. I lost count of the number of attacks that died with him. I think there was one good run that again ended with a terrible pass that went out for a goal kick.Oh bore off. Antony got a fecking goal and an assist yesterday. Antony got a goal and assist, whilst Amad has just come back from injury. Criticise ten Hag for now starting him but this wasn't the fame to do that.Humiliating for Amad that he’s benched for Antony. Time for him to leave the club.
Please come of it. It was Newport. Antony is a joke, offers no threat whatsoever. He had loads of time to pass the ball square 10 yards for Bruno, who hit a great shot. He then passed into an empty goal. His general play was awful. He couldnt beat a league 2 defender. Standards at this club. Imagine RM fans tolerating a player like this.Antony got a goal and assist, whilst Amad has just come back from injury. Criticise ten Hag for now starting him but this wasn't the fame to do that.
We need Antony in form as he's clearly the preferred player, hopefully this kick starts his season.
And you can only beat who is in front of you, yesterday was a good performance from Antony. Please come of it. It was Newport. Antony is a joke, offers no threat whatsoever. I've played at the City ground under 18s cup final. You?I can only assume you never played a half decent standard of football or are about 10. We were playing a league 2 team. Its this pathetic backing of players that has got into this mess. Even Newport could see he offers no threat, with the same predictable move. he is a major reason we cant score as we offer no threat from the right so team can double up in the middle or opposite flank. £82 million. Get real.
You'd have to imagine that guy is a fully grown adult, bitching like a child about a player he doesn't like incessantly on a United forum. Proper odd stuff. And you can only beat who is in front of you, yesterday was a good performance from Antony.
RM fans had to tolerate the likes of Gravesen, Faubert and Woodgate. I'm sure they'd also be happy that their team won, no matter the opposition.
Just because Amad didn't play, this place is up in arms, after we won a game. Couldn't make it up.
This is how I see it now too. The Wigan game was the last straw for me, changed my mind on him once I saw that line up. No bollocks, just not a United manager and the football is fecking shit all things considered.A few here will throw in the few games that he played with 2-3 kids. But that's the exception rather than the norm.
To me, its about our identity. For some reason, he lacks the cajones or doesn't understand what the club is all about.
You have chatted so much shite in that post. Antony had many threatening moments (along side yes, some poor ones). He was much better than Garnacho was with his decision making and racked up a goal and an assist. If you are want to cry about Amad not starting maybe you can wonder about Garnacho's performance instead. Please come of it. It was Newport. Antony is a joke, offers no threat whatsoever.
