91/92? Not sure if it's been mentioned yet but the Premier League started in 92/93.

No worries, he is tearing it up in my CM93 install, keeping Ince and Keano alternating on the bench.

CM >>>>>>> anything that actually happens in real life where I don't manage Manchester United

Are you anyone's AM? Can I ask you about a player?

Oh man.. the quality drop in this draft is going to be crazy.. not sure if there is enough there for 16 teams.

We need more FM stats screenshots to go along with some PES ones.

Not much difference in average rating or goals. A distinct lack of pace and stamina, understandable given his age, but still starts all the big games as the difference between 18 and 20 influence in your captain winds up being 2-3 more goalscoring opportunities per game.

The crazy bastard gets upset even if I only ever drop him for cup games!

(The "last season" stats are given, I'm in my first season)

Yeah. But there's also so much quality that's going to be missed for a couple of rounds too. Some people are going to kick themselves after their 4th and 5th picks when they see some people's 7th/8th/9th picks.

I'm enjoying watching this. Some great teams and some top players not picked yet.

It's so nerve wracking! There are top players who you take a gamble on leaving till later because you think others mightn't go for them, or there is cover in their position, or you don't want to use their club space. Then you kick yourself when they go.

My next 2 picks are pretty integral to my team and I'm positive they'll go before I get there!

Yeah, I know what you mean. If i was playing I'd have left my strikers until about 3rd/4th picks. There are just so many top strikers that have played in the premier league that it could be more important to pick up the solid players behind them first. But it's easy to say from the outside I suppose.

If you play two upfront you can ride it hard, but the popular and "in" thing is playing one. Not many who have the traits, let alone the proven record.

Then you have a similar issue with wide forwards vs. wide midfielders.

FBs are largely average bar a few, and fullbacks don't win you games. Truckloads of CBs, stunned at how many top quality ones are still unpicked. CM/AM also has tonnes of options, I would have probably secured one cornerstone and left it to be completed later.

That is crazy though because up until mid 00s two up front was the norm.. fergie still kept mainly two upfront until he retired..

That's precisely my point, most played 4-4-2 with two strikers and wide midfielders. Can't name names, but some of the better 4-4-2 "wingers" wouldn't work at all as final third "wingers" in a 4-2-3-1.

Sure, given the theme you would think the best team will have two upfront. Think again. Both finalists will be playing 4-3-3/4-2-3-1, unless someone puts together an insane 4-4-2/4-4-1-1. My money isn't there though.

Getting short on wingers.

I have picked a fantastic one. Can play both sides and as a winger or wide midfielder. Damien Duff

Duffs a good pick. The Blackburn one might suffice too which would be a bonus

Thats when he was at his best in my eyes.. done well at chelsea. But under ****** at blackburn he was fantastic.. being an irish man I have followed his career I think when he left blackburn he made a mistake going to chelsea should have went liverpool or arsenal as he would have been playing more often..

I've always thought a move to Liverpool would have been hugely successful for both parties. They were crying out for a winger and he would have been a star there.

Did well at Chelsea still though. He and Robben were a great double act on the wings for a season or two.

He did but he was swapped out a good bit for other wingers and wide midfielders..

At blackburn he was very much the man in their best period since they won title and havent reached those heights since he left.

always hated Duff for some reason....dont kill me you irish bastards
