@Cal?

Are you playing? Are you? Are you??

No, but last draft I played he was meant to be my bad player I was forced to have and play for one game. Then we had three GOATs assigned.

Ljungberg actually played more games than any of the three so-called GOATs iirc. That's how lucky I got with them :lol:

Sounds like fun. I'll give these drafts a go next time.

That was a decade ago man. She has ... aged. :(

I know, but I've followed her since and stayed loyal despite her idiot husband. I actually like her more now. Wine, age, and all that. It's a lot less pervy too :lol:

There was a period after cashley fecked off which was sorta the 'sweet spot' for her, and ya of course I'm still a devout fan as well, no question. :D

Schneiderlin a fourth round pick, and your first midfield pick?!

@MJJ love your midfield pair :drool:

ps: ledley king :(:(:( really wanted him....

Been following this. Really shocked a certain player hasn't been picked yet although maybe it's because of the team rules. bleezy looks like he's going to build an excellent team.

@Marty1968

If it ever comes back to me to run one of these it would be all about oldies, I'm sure it will pique @sajeev 's interest. :D

i wish we could have some thing which highlighted the lazy skillful elegant luxury players like say Valeron or Riquelme.

Everyone has to accommodate a few players from a pool of players with reputations for not being the most efficient but beautiful to watch, and teams getting voted for on style, elegance and then maybe who might actually win the match

It's called single and available. And betrayed to boot.

Sweet spot = vulnerable and open to approach/protection.

Will sink like the titanic unless you make it managers-only vote.

How many better DMs can you think of who doesn't play for a top 3 team?
And you get all the pent up love and kudos before the season starts. Masterful. Cal? just signed Frank Rijkaard for Southampton.

The narrower the draft the greater the opportunity to showcase the lazy geniuses who are largely given a wide berth in the deeper pools. Good example was the all-time British and Irish draft where a number of the more gifted mavericks got a proper airing (Johnstone, Baxter, James, etc). And I reckon if we do a La Liga or Serie A draft like this one then the likes of Valeron and Rui Costa could quickly become gold dust. And similarly so for anything focused on South America where great no10s like Bochini and Riquelme would become good enough to build teams around.

There are a couple from outside the top four who I would say are better and played big roles in title challenging teams, but they definitely aren't as popular names as Schneiderlin, especially at the moment.

True, what happened with that restricted SAM draft? Sounded promising.

We can't make it a draft theme, that won't be done but as Gio said select a pool that naturally brings them out. We did a "Serie A 90s" draft in the newbies which was perfect for these geniuses.

Some very good central defenders left but none better than this guy to play alongside JT....Steve Bruce.

Wonderful leader on the pitch, tough, not bothered about getting a kick (his nose is proof of that) and great goal scoring threat too. Amazed that he lasted round to me again as was between him and JT for my previous rounds pick.
Bruce-008.jpg

Second pick, some much needed pace in attack...one of the fastest players I've seen play live...Andrei Kanchelskis

Outstanding dribbler, finisher and would get the better of most left backs in the draft.

OH dear... :( That's really screwed up my plan...

Sorry...?!?!? ;o) Very nearly didn't pick Andrei....just hoping the other position I was going to go for is still available in 30 picks time (not that hopeful to be honest which will leave me a bit of a problem)..

Bruce and terry alongside each other?? Not the quickest or smartest back pairing..

Bruce was obviously at his best with a quicker and smarter pally beside him and terry with carvalho..

I might be wrong but I think their styles clash

Same could be said for a few premier league centre back pairings......for clubs which were VERY successful at the time (obviously mentioning no names).
