All this peak and spell stuff gets a bit out of hand for my liking.

I frankly have no idea whether he played wide in his second spell, probably did, btu you would be right to say he largely started behind the striker. That said, painting him as solely a support striker restricted to a central role is not a fair reflection of the player he was. He wasn't a lazy #10 genius, nor someone who couldn't quite cut it as a centreforward so dropped to a supporting role, he was a force of nature and would probe all across the frontline looking for weak spots and overloading defenders in search for space and a killer one-two.

Which means I wouldn't find anythign wrong with him playing left, right or centre. In fact, I would prefer him to start centrally because it gives him the most freedom, but in a final I would probably expect a bigger name to have occupied centre-stage, leaving him to start (and be immense) out wide. I actually struggle to come up with who would dislodge him: Cantona, Bergkamp... and that's it, maybe Zola if we are talking Premiership. There's very little in it though and what he has on them all is precisely that flexibility to play wide as well as centrally, in that sense he was a more complete forward than any of them.
 
feck it, now I'm getting all misty eyed and looking up CM 93, I'll probably need to use some virtual machine or something to manage the square inch pixels.

So that one player, who imo is the best in his position in the PL era, is still not gone yet.

Of course, but still... Seeing so many players in his position go before him is just painful :( and seeing him being skipped by one of the posters here *ahem* was :mad:.
 
I go to bed, wake up and about 10 players that were on my list have gone!! Beardsley is a great pick. Gutted about Klinsmann and Pallister too but were never likely to be available when it got back to me...

Seriously, not even the end of round 4 and i'm pulling my hair out...going to be a lot of swearing come round 8!!
 
Love a bit of Beardsley myself. The Entertainer from The Entertainers - I believe that whole outfit to be grabbed up sooner or later specially given the club restrictions.

I reckon there are some good picks from the 90s to be explored.

and picking Hazard in the third round when you can pick from over 20 odd years (people have short memories or don't want to do the research)

edit: maybe thats a bit harsh considering Ginola is gone

Hazard has already played 100 games for Chelsea.. he is a fine pick for this draft

Hazard has already played 3 full seasons in the PL.
