@VP - over to you.

Aaqib Javed - Short but stellar career!

You mofo.

How was Bell picked after Collingwood ? That's a travesty.

Because Collingwood was solid at 5 and a handy bowler. Plus Ian Bell is the daftest cricketer that has ever lived. Not a travesty at all.

The only thing that is a travesty is that Ian fecking Bell is England's highest run scorer.

Mills' record is v. good but I can understand people not being 'fan' of him. Razzaq in his prime was fantastic though, both with bat and ball.

Your openers are fantastic but no. 3-4 are weakness in ODI imo. 5-6 is again good. Bowling I will rate Streak higher than Gul. Gul had promise but hasn't fulfilled it till now and I doubt he will. Larsen was quite handy with ball which is plus while lack of proper spinner is a negative.
Yes of course, Streak was a mainstay for that Zimbabwe team for years. Gul's effectiveness at the death is what he's picked for. The bowling unit compliments each other perfectly - in Bond I have a world class strike bowler, in Gul I have a swing bowler plus one who generates bounce with his height, in Streak I have an economical work horse while Larsen holds it tight during the middle (exceptional economy rate) while Yuvi, Roy and Junior take care of remaining 10 overs.

That was our aim as well and hence Mills over Javed and Fanie. I rate Javed and Fanie primarily because in 90's, for a period, those were the only two who troubled Sachin. But then we thought Javed will be overkill having got Razzaq already.

Tresco was the best English ODI bat I've watched. I think most people who have had to suffer watching us play this format of the game for the last 15 years would agree. KP was class though.

Gough easily, the man was highly underrated in ODIs. Specially at the death, he was really good. Supported by shite like that one guy who got smashed out of the stadium by Tendulkar.

Caddick:lol:

Bell flattered to deceive. He had a good run in his last few years as an opener in the ODI side but even then struggled to make big scores when it counted. Good to watch, very elegant but streaky. I suppose what helped as an opener was he was facing bowling in a power-play so he could hit early boundaries and settle in. Very good advancing down the track but anywhere else in the order and he was too one-paced to succeed in ODIs.

This.

Never have I hated a player more, who played for my own side than Ian fecking Bell.

It's good that my opening pair has 66 ODI centuries between them, then. :D
I'll be needing him to build partnerships without slowing the run rate with the big two at the top. Think he's suited fine to that role.

I know I have Tresco but KP was a better batsman IMO.

But, Willis over Gough though. Gough was a better bowler during the death overs with his variety especially those yorkers and blockholes. However, Willis was a much better new ball bowler and generated more pace.

Surely that Gilchrist thing is a joke? Why would you play your first round pick in an unfamiliar position
