Ross Taylor

Genuine question. How is that different from every modern player? They all bowl to worse batsmen than Sachin and Viv, and bat against much worse bowlers than McGrath annd Ambrose.

His average as a bowler is better or as good than most modern "great" bowlers, and his average with the bat is very respectable. Who would be a better all rounder in cricket today?

What makes, say Shane Watson that much better?

An example of modern players getting a raw deal? I'm not sure, since I do that a lot myself. @prath92 rates him a lot

The reason why Shakib isn't really rated that highly is because his batting and bowling average is greatly helped by the fact that he's played 1/3 of his matches against associate teams.

Here is his record against test playing nations.

and here's Watson record against test playing nations.

PS18 picks Eoin Morgan.

I'll take some time.

Not sure how he's rated here but I rate him highly.

I pick Angelo Matthews!

@VP

@Mani 's team should be disqualified for a) choosing fixer as captain b) Deleting the best team while copy pasting

Blame @prath92. He was certain @Samid would take him. Instead, Ntini and Qadir (my preferred picks) went instead

If he had those numbers batting at no. 7 then I would be all over him but no chance at no. 5. As KM pointed out above over half his runs have come against minnows and average Zim/Windies teams. His numbers in Aus, NZ and Eng are shocking to say the least.

Good player no doubt but his rise to the top all rankings seems to be a mixture of playing lesser teams, playing most tests at home and having most of the world events in favouring Asian conditions over the last 5-6 years.
