Too late I know but here's Murali outspinning Indian batsmen in Sharjah

Yeah Murali isn't good enough for mid overs like warne is:rolleyes:

No one thinks he isn't good enough. He is the better ODI bowler too among the two imo, but Warne vs Lamb and Shiv and Murali vs Kallis and Lloyd are completely different stories.

Plus Kohli and Kirsten are two batsman who almost always saw a chase through. @Mani surely knows that having watched games in 90s with Kirsten

It's laughable to try to get Kohli out by exposing him to pace:lol:

Anyway being in class tough to post. Sir thought I was sleeping :p

Your openers are better than his, i like Kristen / Hayden compared to Anwar/Smith.

It also makes a diff with the start of Hayden Kirsten vs Akhtar and Anwar smith vs Roberts Akram

I agree, which is why I gave your team the edge for the first 15 overs while chasing. I absolutely love Kirsten. He's my favourite of the 4 openers.

Exactly. Kirsten in his prime can deal with bowlers here easily

Just woke up still a gie? Will only be able to read after driving into work. Good close game

I'm going to go with NM. I like Viv and Kallis a lot but I do prefer NM's bowling attack, especially in these conditions. The toss is probably the final blow, as I just can't see a prime Dhoni blowing a close chase.

Dhoni on a green top?

I haven't followed this thread at all so for me to vote it will take some time and I am not feeling like reading anything right now.

He has good record in England and New Zealand
I haven't checked any stats but doing it vs bowling attacks of Eng and NZL is quite different to doing it vs the bowlers Crappy has. Tbh, it's something I expected Crappy to highlight more, Dhoni on such a pitch isn't really the Dhoni that's rated among the best finishers ever.

it's not as if everyone else faced top bowlers either. England always had bowlers who were underwhelming so we could make that argument for everyone.

Your point has gone above my head I'm afraid. I'm saying Dhoni the awesome finisher isn't all that on such pitches. Seeing as you have sold him here as the Dhoni that's ace, I would have expected Crappy to highlight how he isn't as good in such conditions.

two points:
1. The ball doesn't usually swing the entire game, even in these conditions, and he will be batting at the death
2. He is still good in these conditions, at the death.

Crappy's weakness is the short batting lineup and weaker bowling lineup. He can talk all he wants about Lamb and Chanderpaul but Lamb is playing in essentially home conditions (where he was very good) and Chanderpaul is the sort of gritty batter who would survive here. Anwar? Taylor? Not so much.

What NM said pretty much.

That's true tbf, you batting 2nd negates that to a big extent but still, isn't the subcontinent where he's made his name.

Just feck off with lies. Dev bats at 8. Short batting line up. Twat

:lol::lol:

Chill out. Any lineup with Brendan Taylor at 6 is a short one. You are heavily reliant on the top 5 on a pitch where they are batting first agaainst the moving ball. You can spin it how you like, but theree are consequencecs to that.

@crappycraperson I don't mean to sound like an asshole, but you really donn't consider context (or sometimes even read full posts) before replying.

Brendan Taylor's a solid middle order batsman. His numbers are very respectable for the team he played in and that he didn't get many opportunities as your mainstream internationals shouldn't hurt. He's not going to be a blitzer but to keep ticking over with a hitter alongside will be a good combination.
