I find that constant reference to dropping into defence intriguing. I assume you are looking at doing something similar to what Leverkusen/Roma/Brazil/Germany were doing back in 01/02 with a holding midfielder dropping into a three to allow the fullbacks to bomb forward.
Be careful with that too, if it's too complicated people don't always get it or buy it. I set out to do that with the 70s draft. Had someone who actually did that for club and country (Ramelow), one of my fullbacks did that at club level, I even took care of picking CBs who were right/left-footed respectively and who had experience as fullbacks so that the ability to cover was more obvious...
I think it lasted about two hours of voting and I had to ditch it to avoid elimination. My entire draft strategy had revolved around one way of playing and it lasted all of 15 minutes in gametime terms
It was also a reason I lost the final, even against Gery fecking Kelly because I hadn't drafted wingers and hadn't picked up enough quality on the wings to exploit that eyesore!
