All ticket/travel information thread - 2009/10: Touting will not be tolerated

The one time I tried to get it at Spurs in the FA Cup last year, I had to wait about around half an hour and I was at the gates before full time (I had a train to catch at Piccadilly!) and I missed my train. So from my one experience, I would not recommend it. If you have enough time I would definitely just get the tram/bus.

bus is quickest

Definately, suprisingly never traffic to get back to Piccadilly on bus. Get the 250 from Warwick Road and you'll be in Piccadilly half an hour after full time

Can anyone give me any good advice on any even slightly likely avenues to go down to try and get an arsenal away ticket? my gooner mate is heading down so i could get free travel and go to away with someone, all be it if i am not sitting with them. i know i probably have more chance of being the first pope to score in the champions league final i know but still!

i am a season ticket holder but dont think i can apply

What's the best way to get to and from Old Trafford from Liverpool. I'm guessing the best way to get to manchester is train from lime street to piccadilly. But where from there?

Cheers

Is it Liverpool or Liverpool airport? The best way from the airport is the Terravision coach the city centre would be the train

what would be the best way to get to OT from monton in eccles? maybe watching north london derby at my mates before the blackburn game

From the city centre. So what I've learned so far is that the best way is to get the train from Lime street to Piccadilly, bus from piccadilly to OT(Where do I get the bus from? Is there buses running from Piccadilly to OT?) . Then after the game get the bus from Warwick road to Piccadilly. Then the train from there back to Liverpool.

Thanks for the replies lads, really appreciate it. Still not sure on the buses though, where would I got the one that goes to Old Trafford? And how regular do they run?

A friend of mine lives in Scotland and was asking me about the possibilities of getting a ticket for Everton home. What would be his chances of getting a ticket without resorting to touts? Big fat zero? In that case what would you expect him to pay for a single ticket?

Phone up T.O, I'm going but they phoned me up three times before I agreed to it.

If he gets a one unted membership then he can apply through the ballot and if not sucessful they will probably end up on general sale anyway to OU members.

Two Stretford End Tier 2 tickets for United v Spurs in the League Cup. £70 for the pair.

Also, two north Stand Tier 1 Concessions (Seniors) for the same match. Excellent seats. £40 for the pair.

PM me if interested.

Wigan 30 Dec

Maybe you guys can help me with some ticket/travel info.

I'm living in India but will be in Andorra/Paris for a week or two during Christmas. I was planning on buying 2-4 tickets for the home game vs Wigan on Dec 30. So I'll be flying in from Andorra (I hear 15-20 Euros is all it takes for a cheap flight).

My main objective is to have a comfortable experience which involves everything -

  • good match tickets,
  • hotel around Old Trafford,
  • museum/stadium tour, etc.

Money is secondary - I am more that willing to pay if it guarantees a great experience. Is there anything else that I'm missing out, since I've never been to OT before.

There is a DreamBreak package on the official site which offers all these things (plus vouchers for the megastore + Hard Rock Cafe), but it seems slightly expensive at 400 pounds for 2 people.

Is this a good deal?

The advantage is that its safe and confirmed, without any complications or hassles. One-stop shop for everything I need.

The disadvantage is that it seems slightly expensive and the tickets are in the East Stand Second Tier. Now I don't know if it is possible to buy tickets for better stands, but does it make that much of a difference in terms of match experience?

Or is there something else I should look out for?

And what on earth is the "MatchDay Experience"?

That's a rip off mate. Match tickets for United v Wigan will be plentiful in much better seats than East T2.

Hotel room for 2 should set you back £50 a night tops - and you DON'T want a hotel near Old Trafford - get a hotel in Manchester city centre so you can actually experience the city before/after the match (OT is dead apart from the hours before the match).

Thanks. How do you go about getting better tickets, including the entire Museum and Stadium Tours (and MatchDay Experience, whatever that is)?
