ALL Ronaldo's future/comments/speculation

The media debacle is created by his comments and flirtations.

Why did Paul Scholes never get linked with a move? Why is Wayne Rooney never linked with a move?

Of course I agree he hasn't denied a move ; I've been saying that all along. But you don't agree the media has gone way overboard?
Personally, I think they've gone mental. fecking bunch of loopers. We'll see what happens.

Sacrificed Ruud? He wanted to leave.

You're just bitter that you're username is obsolete.

No way did Ruud want to leave, he even stated afterward that he was planning on finishing his career at OT, but the bust up with Ronaldo forced him out. The same Ronaldo who is finding it difficult to come out and say "I want to stay here at least another season and defend the title" What a circus...

Not like us on here, eh? What a shining example we are.

What part of "I stay" suggests anything other than exactly that?

Come on Count you're a clever guy, he's said things that indicates he'll stay, and he's said things that indicate he's leaving. And has been pointed out, he said the former after our Champions League triumph when emotions are high, his speak has changed markedly since then. It appears his remarks about directly saying "I would like to play for Real Madrid" have been verified, and he certainly has made it clear he has some kind of decision to make even though his future is essentially out of his hands with the 4 years he has left on his contract

Feed Me is being a bit extreme and emotional, but I indentify with him entirely. Ronaldo is pissing us all off at the moment, he could have kept silent on this matter, and instead he's stoked it. He's treated us all pathetically to be honest, and partially taken the shine off what should be a summer of glory basking

Well, reports say he asked to leave three times I believe, beginning on the day of the cup final against Arsenal, and Alex Ferguson on the Frost interview directly claimed that Ruud wanted to leave from the point he signed a new contract, he had no intention of staying on longer than that

I thought his attitude stank. And Heinze's. There's a common theme developing here...

To be fair, Beckham was a bit different, I think he has a good attitude, but he let the media side of his life get the better of him. There's no way a United lad through and through would want to leave the club

Of course he wanted to leave. His ego couldn't handle sitting on the bench.

"He wanted to leave the moment he signed his new contract." Those are SAF's words.

Yeah, if Ronaldo really wants to leave there's little we can do. But I still think he wants to stay and has just got carried away by this hype. In the Frost interview, Ferguson said Ronaldo was an intelligent bloke.I'm not too convinced by that.

Intelligent enough to be enticed by 300K a week.

Face it. The boy's a foreigner plying his trade with his employers. He has no obligation to stay with Manchester United for the rest of his career. Yes, he is grateful, but at the end of the day, he has his own preferences, and want to try something different, play in a different country etc. Shouldn't really begrudge him for that. What i am most concern, is that should he leave, Real Madrid has got to really pay the premium fee for him. I would expect nothing less than 80mil pounds, considering his on-field brilliance, and his immense potential marketing. David Beckham was allowed to leave dirt cheap, and should something similar happens, the management has got to answer for it. If Real Madrid want our best players, we have to play according to their rules and make them weaker as a result. I say we go for something like a 40million pounds, Cassilas, Ramous and Robinho. Something on that scale, but not necessary that.

On the contrary, if Ronaldo wants to leave, there's plenty we can do. Like enforcing his contract so he can't go anywhere. He's essentially powerless for the next two seasons, if we wish to keep him, he's staying here like it or not. By the point his contract is down to two years left, if the player won't sign a new deal, that's when you might be forced to sell in such a situation else risk getting less than the player is worth in a transfer deal. But everything is in our court as thing stand

True on the face of it but if we sat him out for an extended period it might go to courts and as was posted earlier the majority of decisions tend to go to the employees.

So now everyone seems sure hes off.

I haven't read the last few pages, but has everyone made this judgment based on his alleged comments to "respected Brazilian website tera" or has he actually come out and said something?

Gabriele Marcotti should be on BBC Fivelive tonight. He'll probably be on for a preview of Euro 2008 but he has good contacts on the continent so they are bound to ask him what the word is on the grapevine.

seriously, eh?

Isn't that what the fellow and his family want?

Basically he wants to just score a few Golasos with his Galacticos...
Once he reaslies the fickle twats that Real are after he misses a game without scoring and out come the white handkerchiefs, he'll come running right back to us.....

I have never understood the appeal with that club..

In years back they were legends. Not so today.

Gabriele Marcotti. That sounds like a great way to end speculation

I am pretty sure all of us know what hes going to say.

I don't think the sidelines thing is realistic Bahama, if he stays, I'm sure he'll still give his best, and that Ferguson will play him. I'm sure he has some professional pride, and he'll want to keep Madrid interested to a point in time where his sale is more realistic

Unless he claims he was under duress or something when he signed his last contract, I can't see what the courts could do anyway. I'm sure United don't agree to contracts which indicate a player must play X% of games in a given season

I know...and so were those cnuts from Merseyside, yet you don't see every player (thankfully) wanting to play for them..

Ronaldo must see what's happened to the likes of players who've gone to Madrid in recent times and how the club's treated them like absolute garbage....

The least he should do is lookout for his own career...

Right now we ARE the best team in Europe.. We have the best younger players in the world with Rooney, Anderson, Nani and himself..
An Awesome backline. A manager's who's made Ronaldo who he is today..
A stadium with the highest average attendances in Europe, whereas Real can't sell out until and unless it's some El fecking Clasico match even though they've got a bigger stadium.....

Madness really.

I just wonder if things haven't gone too far for Fergie already. He's a hard man.

If anybody has any doubts that Ruud wanted, in an ideal world, to stay with us, just watch, in case you hadn't, his press conference when Real Madrid first signed him.

The body language and his tone of voice says it all. He was heartbroken. He'll always be a legend in my eyes.

It's not like i said Guillem Balague. ;)

Where the hell has he been in all this by the way? You'd think SSN would have him undercover at the Portugueee training base or doing hourly reports from Madrid or something.

I'm off to bed. I expect to have 20 pages to read through when I get up. The bullshitometer might increase. Can't see the Ronaldometer changing much.

i think the meter should look more like this

You've stolen my thunder.

As for Ruud, perhaps if he'd not thrown his toys out of the pram more times than Kevin Keegan calls it quits, then he would have stayed.

Our flourishing since he left is both because we no longer play static football funneled through one predictable man, but also because that man no longer is disruptive to the other players. Sadly, Keane seemed to become the same way at the end.

Ferguson not welcome here, says Ronaldo.

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/premier_league/manchester_united/article4076331.ece

Cristiano Ronaldo’s faltering relationship with Sir Alex Ferguson appeared to deteriorate further yesterday when the Portugal winger effectively banned the Manchester United manager from visiting his country’s European Championship training camp.

In an embarrassing snub, Ronaldo has told team-mates that Ferguson is not welcome in Switzerland, bringing a premature end to proposals for peace talks that surfaced in the light of his continued flirtation with Real Madrid.

Ferguson had reservations about travelling to the university town of Neuchâtel in any case, with the United manager reluctant to show his concern at Real’s interest and uneasy about intruding into the sphere of Luiz Felipe Scolari, the Portugal coach, but Ronaldo’s stance has brought an end to the matter.

The 23-year-old’s intransigence springs from anger at Ferguson’s comments last weekend that the Glazer family would rather see him sit in the stands than sell him to Real. Ronaldo is understood to be furious at this perceived slight, but Ferguson was merely responding to the player’s frequent expressions of admiration for Real.

Ronaldo’s mood is all the more frustrating for Ferguson because Scolari had indicated that he would be welcome to visit the player at the Portugal training base. The Brazilian has long been an admirer of Ferguson and the pair share a mutual respect. He also wonders whether Ronaldo is in the right frame of mind for the Euro 2008 campaign, which begins against Turkey in Geneva tomorrow.

“Scolari is a sensitive coach,” a Portuguese source said. “He wants Ronaldo to be settled and if Ronaldo asks to see Ferguson he will allow it. He just wants Ronaldo to be settled so he can play his best.” Gilberto Mandail, president of the Portuguese football federation said: “Having the best Ronaldo in the next three weeks is very much our problem.”

The onus is on Ronaldo to demonstrate that the furore has not compromised his form, although it is becoming apparent that his departure from Old Trafford is a case of when rather than if.

The former Sporting Lisbon winger went farther than ever yesterday, telling a Brazilian website that he would like to sign for Real if a deal can be done, although there is little chance of that happening this summer. With four years remaining on Ronaldo’s contract, United have no reason to sell — even for a world-record transfer fee in excess of £50 million — and Real will have to make a renewed bid in subsequent seasons.

“I would like to play for Real Madrid, but only if it is true they are ready to pay what Manchester United ask of them,” Ronaldo said. “However, it does not depend on me. From today I’m not going to talk about this topic with anyone at all. I’ll only talk about this again after the European Championship. Don’t ask me any questions because I won’t answer.”

Ferguson’s anger will only have increased after comments from Ruud van Nistelrooy, another United player he fell out with, urging Ronaldo to join him at the Bernabéu. The main difference, however, as in the case of David Beckham, is that Ferguson wanted to sell Van Nistelrooy because of the belief that he was a disruptive influence, which is not the situation with Ronaldo.

“He’d be an important signing for Madrid because this is a club which signs the best players in the world, and that’s what Cristiano is,” Van Nistelrooy said. “Cristiano could bring a lot of things to this club. He’s young, he has everything and a long sporting career ahead of him.”

We have a Ronaldo thread.

Those posting Ronaldo crap and making us merge all of this rubbish every few hours are going to get infractions for it.

Its a very simple rule, honestly.

Tabloids recycle crap from that Brazilian site or something... this was always going to happen when Ron was at the Euros. He doesn't have that United protectiveness around him that do well to ensure he isn't hounded and goaded like he is over in Switzerland. He's quite an impressionable lad, but he's really not helping himself here and the fans don't have a short memory.

Whether he stays or goes this summer, this will be a common reoccurence for the forseeable future whilst he's a United player. This is going the exact same way as it did with the WC06 situation, lots of heresay etc. etc. but when it comes down to it, Sir won't have his hand forced.

What a bullshit article. If Scolari wants him to be settled then why did he himself come out earlier and said Ronaldo should seriously consider going to Madrid? way to settle him with that.

Anyways if the latest report is to be believed, then Ronaldo will say nothing more until after the Euros. This thread should be locked as everything that comes out will be tabloid bullcrap with dodgy inside sources.

wha loads of rubbish, the Times are pathetic to cme up with this shit.

80M pounds, and Robinho and Sneijder at least, as we can get a free kick taker again, and a real winger. That would provide us an interesting option in the midfield to replace Scholes too. I don't go for Casillas, but if he can be in the deal, then I'd say 65M and Casillas, Sneijder and Robinho.

Ronaldo leaving soon has been on the cards for a long time... i dont know why most people on here couldnt see it. He's not from Manchester, he's not a Man Utd fan, and he's unfeasibly arrogant. Great footballer, yes. But as other football fans (non Man Utd) have known in this country for a long time, he's a a bit of a cnut
