I am fluent in Portuguese. Loosely translated it says:

He might have qualms about not being allowed to leave, however. None of you guys seem to appreciate that it's actually not his choice to make. Not only that, but SAF and the Glazers have already pre-empted this situation by their statement about sitting him in the stands (not, I hasten to add, to be taken at face value - they'll keep him, but he'll play in the first team)

Does anyone know anything about this Terra paper. Can't believe his big announcement is to some unknow Brazilian paper. Guardian have described it as 'well respected'.

And obviously this gives all the other paper to run this story, cue mass panic on the caf.

It does seem respected to be honest. Its called Earth, maybe thats the equilivent of News of the World. Gotta trust that.

Doesn't excuse Ronaldos silent treatment. Fans deserve better than this. The clubs deserve better than this. Fergie deserves better.

Such twatish behaviour, if he goes he won't be remembered as "the winger who scored 42 goals in a season and won the double ", he'll be remembered as a disloyal cnut.
 
The idea Ronaldo waited all this time to talk to some Brazilian website, and to say THAT about the money, is rather funny. Naa, not buying it. Some hack website figured out they'd get their traffic up.
 
The quotes mean, "If thats the money I'd be stupid not to go. However its United that will decide."

REAL Madrid striker Ruud van Nistelrooy believes the Spanish champions will sign Cristiano Ronaldo as they are "a club which signs the best in the world".

A day after club president Ramon Calderon conceded the signing of the Manchester United star would be impossible, former Red Devil Van Nistelrooy told Spanish newspaper Marca that Ronaldo would be a great signing for the Primera Liga winners.

He said: "He'd be an important signing for Madrid because this is a club which signs the best players in the world, and that's what Cristiano is.

"Cristiano could bring a lot of things to this club. He's young, he has everything and a long sporting career ahead of him.

"For Madrid he would be a great signing."

The 31-year-old also praised his Holland team-mate Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, who is another player being linked with a summer move to the Spanish capital.

"He has scored a load of goals in Holland," Van Nistelrooy added.

"He's your typical number nine, he's got the lot. Good with his head, with both feet.

"He has a great future outside of Holland."

even before all this bollox...I felt Ronaldo would be asking for an improved contract....I still feel SAF and Gil will sit down with him and come to an agreement that will satisfy the club and player....it just does not seem possible United will allow Real to dictate all this.
 
If Aulas knows of the figure, he will quote a higher selling price and Benzema might not even bulge.

Sky Sports News have breaking news saying that Ronaldo has conducted an interview saying he wants to go, but he's not going to say anymore about it until after the Euro's.

But the source is some random Brazillian site. Who knows.

Not "He'll be" - as in he will be (when he signs)

At no point does Ruud say he will sign for Madrid. Lazy journalism.

Madrid have to make a concrete offer to United. United will reject it because it's going to be way less than what MARCA has been saying.

Then it all depends on how Ronaldo acts. If he kicks up a stink and keeps sulking then we're in trouble.

If he sees that Madrid don't love him as much as they said, as they were offering much less for him than Zidane etc. then maybe he takes the hint that he can afford to wait a year or two and see what happens, perhaps get a more lucrative contract with United with his new leverage, or see if Barca perhaps entering the chase at some point.

Manchester United winger Cristiano Ronaldo has claimed he "wants to play for Real Madrid", according to respected Brazilian website Terra.

They claim to have carried out an exclusive interview with the Portugal international in which he said: "I would like to play for Real Madrid but only if it is true they are ready to pay what Manchester United ask of them.

"However, it does not depend on me."
