ALL Ronaldo's future/comments/speculation

Oh, and I forgot. He said that he didn't think that he is a slave and that people have misinterpreted Blatters and then his comments.

Really?

feck me, those exact comments cause an absolute shit-storm (amongst press and fans alike) but when he refutes them, in a televised interview, this doesn't even get a mention?

I know that the press have their own agenda but why the feck has the coverage of this whole saga (including the British press) been so closely aligned with the agenda of Real Madrid?

Exactly what I and just a few others have been, rather forlornly, trying to maintain throughtout this thread.

When it's all over I've a mind to do a sort of precis of the thread - it would make a good book actually. Might get it published. Hmmm...

Even if he refuted his comments, its because Fergie confirmed he's going nowhere. If anybody other than a united player talked shite and refuted his comments later as misinterpretation, we'd be laughing our socks off and call him a cnut.

Because it keeps the story going - both directly and indirectly:

Directly, because it portrays his future as still uncertain.

Indirectly, because the selective quoting means fans, pundits etc will continue to complain about Ronaldo's behaviour so they'll be coming out with shit about him still - which he gets to hear about and wonders what more they are insistinghe be saying beyond what he's just said - 'that he's looking forward to playing at Utd next season.'

This reminds me we still haven't had a 2nd opinion on the context of Ronaldo's answers about Blatter's comments...

I was rushing around getting ready for work at the end of the interview but he was basically saying that he didn't think Blatter was referring to players like himself at the top end of the game and he was agreeing with the idea of players lower down the pyramid being treated poorly by clubs, not himself.

Hmm :) our Ronnys alittle fibber. If it were true, it's clear he didn't see the whole comment or hear it himself because you cannot assume that from what blatter said, he mentioned United, Madrid, Ronaldo getting together and no mention of smaller clubs

Easy to shut Madrid up.

It's upto Ronaldo

I am under contract, and until United say otherwise I have no say in the matter.

Welcome back.

He's said variations of that several times during this saga. From, "I'm a Manchester United player, I'm not talking to anyone else," two months ago through to, "It's not up to me," two weeks ago.

What people keep asking him is what he wants and that's when we get the - dreams, only God knows the future - waffle. As for him saying a direct public "no" to Madrid, I doubt he'd do it - he's been warned across the pages of every Spanish newspaper (and doubtless by Calderon) that Madrid won't just come back and beg again next year if he "humiliates" them.

Before we get carried away we need transcripts/link to this interview.

There are some very decent jounalists working for various papers - I can't believe they would all be onto this anti United/Ronaldo conspiracy.

or he's a lying cnut

Except Blatter didn't explicitly link the slave remarks with Utd - if I remember, he expressed sympathy with Ronaldo in one remark and then talked about the treatment of players in another.

Oh please... We don't need to excuse Blatter or his comments to feel better about Ronaldo

I think, Sults, that most British journo's have probably been working with the commonly available edited interview.

That's a massive lie. I clearly heard him mention United.

Although to be fair, I have always maintained Ronaldo most likely never understood the significance of his agreement with Blatter.

yeah but the guy knew what he was doing :)

I don't think him or Calderon know how to be 'subtle'.

And he still didn't mention lower league players - he said clubs which is universal,
so in that context it has to include Ronaldo; more so when you go on camera and say your sympathetic.

I mean, he had the chance to say: "While I am sympathetic of his situation he is well paid for his efforts. It is the players with ambition, playing for smaller clubs who price them out of the market or refuse to sell that I feel sorry for"...

Sympathetic for Ronaldo? Ronaldo probably only heard that and how could he disagree? lol

Oh please... We don't need to excuse Blatter or his comments to feel better about Ronaldo

I'm not excusing his remarks tbh - just trying to be accurate. I reckon Blatter knew exactly what he was doing...

By placing those remarks in conjunction, Blatter could claim he never said Utd were treating anyone like a slave whilst still giving that impression, because the remarks would automatically seem to relate to the same situation to the listener. He was successfully inviting listeners to infer the link themselves without stating one.

We all know that Blatter's interview and Ronaldo's agreement were staged to help Ronaldo move to Madrid, but luckily Sir Alex blocked the move. So, the cnut is now trying to win back the fans by changing his words. We all know it, but many are waiting for the moment for Ronaldo to come out and say his comments were taken out of context so that they can feel better about Ronaldo and his great character.

Help me out then dude. He did say what I've said didn't he. I didn't imagine it!!

Well it didn't show it all. He said he's always motivated whereever he is, that he's looking forward to playing for United next season, the motivations always there. He also said he's been at united since he was 18 and, Sir alex has a great relationship with the players and that he's a formidable man.

So this future talk..is bullshit. Forget the media slant and it's a scandal that they can edit video like that to release a story that is completely one sides and basically lies.

I didn't see the blatter comments but obviously i trust he said them, and I think that is part of what he talked with Sir Alex (speculation). I would say Sir Alex and Ronaldo came to an agreement but that's just my thoughts.

I'd rather not say much more as we don't want to give the press guys any idea....retards that they are :)

After Sir Alex met him and confirmed that he will not allow him to move:rolleyes:

so what are you going to do? Campaign by yourself? Sit down when everyone else is singing?....

feck sake, IF Sir Alex wants him at the club, it's good enough for me and Sir Alex is a united man.......

You do realize at the end of the day your sounding pro Calderon and Pro Madrid and Pro blatter?

The only cause worth fighting for is your/our own and that's how it is. Accept it

I don't think I need to feel better about anyone's character - inc Ronaldo's.

I'm still waiting for a check on exactly with what Ronaldo could reasonably be expected to think he was agreeing - yet I'm inclined to trust the translation of the questions we received via Makki. If you remember, I was the one who asked for the context provided by the question in the first place and later said that Ronaldo agreeing Utd were enslaving someone was the first abhorrent remark I'd heard from Ronaldo this summer. All that other stuff about future dreams and being willing to play wherever mutual agreements placed him weren't really problematic IMO.

That doesn't make Ronaldo an Angel and you're an idiot if you think all fans are stupid enough to believe this 'taken out of context' bollocks. We've all heard these things from politicians.

no it makes you a retard because EVERYONE knows the fecking score. Everyone. You think your the only one that get's it?

We know the score......we know Ronny isn't an angel and this taken out of context bs is very silly of you. You haven't read my posts have you. I never said it must be true....

But for those of us with higher intelligence :D....just fecking calm down and realize we're all on the same side.

Yes it's bollocks but feck it, take it and move on. Being bitter and a cnut is not very pro United is it

If I remember correctly, the interviewer asked if there are any previous example of united enslaving players and he said no. So, he's completely aware of what Blatter said and more importantly he was confident that we'll accept the move. It didn't work out according to plan and now they are all trying to be defensive.

Here's what I have just heard from SSN.

"I am always motivated regardless of what team I play for"

'Wants more trophies with United'

"We had a great season last year, but can always better last seasons achievements."

"Alex is a formidable man"

"Blatters slave remarks were misinterpreted."

Not exact words. Typing whilst listening.

Just you keep it up sunshine; the journos will all be looking at the Caf now it's been quoted, and instead of picking up on the positive, analytical stuff they'll seize on all the negative, bitter psychosis emanating from implacable, miserable nay-sayers such as yourself and several others.

Then it will be 'news' that the United fans don't want him. Then we really might have to part, and SAF's exciting young team will lose its heart. Like Striker says, trust in SAF; if he's not good enough for you of course, please feel free to say so explicitly. Then we can all turn on you. Got the balls?

Thought not.

End of.

Would've been better if he said he did not understand Blatter's comments properly.

I'm confused now. Is this the same interview where it was translated that only God knew where he'd be next season and all that? Because some of the comments here don't sound all that compatible with some of the comments from that

I'm glad he's saying these kind of things you talk about there Sults. Maybe the lad isn't thick as pig shit after all. The long squirm back to Manchester begins...

it's the same interview but i think it's been taken out of context and the medias editing has distorted everything.

dippersripper

As for the misunderstanding blatter - the problem with saying that is because he don't go into details, people can misconstrue what he's actually saying.

Does he mean he misunderstood or the public?? It's not clear. That's Cristiano Polemic Ronaldo for you :)
