Calderon still chasing Ronaldo

Jul 20 2008

Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon is adamant Cristiano Ronaldo remains his club's number one transfer target despite Manchester United's insistence that the Portugal star will not be sold.

Sir Alex Ferguson met Ronaldo for clear-the-air talks on Monday and claimed on Friday that there was no chance he would be quitting United for Spain.

However, Calderon believes Ferguson's optimism is little more than a ruse to get more money out of the Primera Liga giants who are reportedly willing to pay no more than 85million euros.

"This type (of transfer) is hard," he told Spanish media, when asked about Ferguson's comments. "But we're going to go for it all the same.

"I suppose it's all about a manner of theirs to let us know clearly that they're not going to lower the price in any way and that if we want him we have to pay a lot more money."

Madrid chiefs are said to be convinced the winger - who is currently recovering from ankle surgery - will join them before the beginning of the season.

When asked about Ronaldo by the Madrid players on their first day of pre-season training, Calderon reportedly reassured them with the words "Don't worry, we have it all sorted."

As I said immediately after news of the Fergie meeting with Ronnie, it ain't over till the greasy haired BPITW sings. (and we can see his lips move)

The thing is though even if the BPITW says 'I stay', I can bet Calderon won't give up. His job is on the line here and Ronaldo is his only way of saving it.

honestly...the only way United will sell this season is if Real break the bank...and I mean more than 80 million pounds......if you read Fergie's statement and what Calderon is saying...I think this is about how much...sadly...which also means Fergie needs to bring in quality players soon....so the sale may be decided by the time the team comes back to England.

Well, so far you've offered zero. You may have to go above that to secure the transfer.

Real refuse to give up on Ronaldo

The only reason Calderon is still going on with his bs is because Ronnie hasn't come out and said "I'm staying"
Once Ronnie says that then Calderon will be at the job centre next day.

The case is closed ONLY when Ronnie says it is. The speculation is winding up again. It will not stop until the greasy laddie sings.

...and the reason Ronaldo is not saying he is staying is because I still think he will commit if offered more mullah.....would love seeing Ronaldo sign a new contract and Calderon being lynched by a Real mob :smirk:

Between about one and two hundred pages ago there was a number of posts (many by my good self, hem hem,) which covered this nonsense about the size of the fee, and what I called the titanic battle between the two leading global football brands. Look at Gill's recent remarks about the Glazer's agenda and the difference between their approach and that of a PLC board. To back down now would undoubtedly cast United in the role of the dog retiring from the scrap for leadership of the pack with its tail between its legs.

This is not the Glazer's style. It is emphatically not Sir Alex Ferguson's style.

Relax Bahama, and trust in the prophet Magic.

:D. We haven't even put a price on his head you f***ing cock. I always thought he's not for sale meant just that. What a Ihni binni dimi diniwiny anitaime

Once Ronnie says that then Calderon will be at the job centre next day.

Calderon has been going on about Ronaldo every day since the 07/08 season began. I remember around February time, Ronnie said he was happy here etc and the next day Calderon said he would not give up on trying to sign him and how they had lots of money to offer us which could tempt us. Take the most recent example, SAF and Gill both say he isn't going anywhere, yet Calderon says he won't give up and accues us of just saying that for negogiation terms. It really doesn't matter what anyone says, Calderon is obsessed with Ronaldo. However, I really don't care what he says because actions speak louder than words and when Calderon sees Ronnie playing for us next season, maybe it will hit home to him that a) you can't always get who you want b) that when we said 'not for sale' we meant it and c) to look for a new job

United are absolutely adamant, I know. But what if he hands in a transfer request? And states publicly that he wants to go to Madrid. That changes everything. Only God knows what will happen then (hmmmm)

No offer? no transfer request? Let's whisper this quietly, - they aint got it. 70m Euro bank loan my arse! They couldn't raise enough to interest us and it's too late now, anyway. Week after the CL, great to sell. Plenty of time to get in and bed in. Now, feck off Calderon. This whole thing has been a wind up.

Ah yes - God; time for a bump of my update on Real Madrid's courting of said figure;

Real Madrid sign God; Update;

Madrid 1407 GMT;

Speaking from the Santa Cruz Palace this afternoon, Spain’s Foreign Minister Miguel Angel Moratinos has denied any involvement in the astounding revelations emanating from the Bernabeu earlier today, in which Ramon Calderon implied that Moratinos worked behind the scenes in helping Real Madrid to sign Cosmological super star God in a deal reported to be worth nearly two fifths of global GDP. ‘The Spanish Government does not involve itself in matters of this kind’ declared Moratinos ‘not since the days of General Franco, when Real’s opponents would receive a visit to their dressing room prior to kick off by the Generalisimo, explaining that he knew where their families lived, has it been the overt policy of the Spanish State to support Real.’

Meanwhile, in a separate development, scores of armed security lorries have been seen arriving at the Bernabeu, each fully laden with gold bullion stamped ‘característica del gobierno español’. Unconfirmed reports emanating from Marca’s Headquarters at Paseo de la Castellana suggest that God’s mother, Maria Dolores Aveiro dos Christos, interviewed whilst on a promotional visit to French resort Lourdes, made it clear that whilst her son had, in fact, always maintained that the club were ‘his chosen people’ on account of their association with his (son's) brother Santiago, he had no immediate plans to descend to them at present. ‘He has always said that ever since his assumption into ‘el teatro del suenos’, he has felt that his true work lies there, amidst the Glory and the community of Saints dwelling on earth.’ This, theological sources explain, is thought to be a reference to a famous stadium in the English City of Manchester, known to be frequented by numerous saints and demi-gods.

You can bet Calderon is watching for Ronnie's actions 24/7. The fact that Ronnie hasn't backed up Fergie's statements has caused this and will continue to cause the like until Ronnie comes out and sings.

but it don't matter. Ronaldo won't put in a transfer request (he's too gutless) and Calderon won't make a bid. Even if they did make a bid now, we know what our response will be. We just gotta roll wit' it.

Show me the way to Reaaaal Madrid
The sweet 200g's that wait for me
sha la la la la la la la (hey hey)
sha la la la la la la la
sha la la la la la la la

i know what your thinking, the prospect of Ronaldo singing his own version of "amarillo" will be legendary.

Has anybody heard Ronnie's singing before? I saw a you tube video of it once.

Lets just say he should stick to football :D

But that appears to be his last option now. I think it's what Madrid are waiting for and what Ronnie is, at present, deciding. Once he makes his decision it will either close all this or set off a whole new scenario which, in Ronnie's words, only God knows how it will end.

Calderon is a big prick
They can't afford Ronaldo, so they just chat shit so Fergie gets annoyed and sells him on the cheap - NOT GOING TO HAPPEN

Ronaldo (although I still want him to stay), is on the verge of deserving two boots to the head by Fergie at this rate.

Of Ronnie's making

So you, permanently, keep saying. And, of course, it's nothing whatsoever to do with Calderon's survival games, his desire to keep this floating for his own position within the club, along with the rest of his lapdogs at Marca etc. Sure, Ronaldo would like to go - no news there - and would if the clubs agreed the amounts originally quoted, but what you don't seem able to comprehend is that he won't go under any circumstances and if not, he's quite content to remain at OT. He knows he'll still be around when twatface Calderon has gone. AND they still aint got the money!

Ronaldo remains Real target

Spaniards refuse to accept that winger is not for sale

By Chris Burton Last updated: 20th July 2008

Ronaldo: Future remains unclear

Ron yet to decide on future

Real Madrid remain in the hunt for Cristiano Ronaldo, despite Manchester United's claims that he is going nowhere.
The Red Devils maintain the Portuguese ace is not for sale and are not prepared to enter into any form of negotiations regarding a potential transfer.
Sir Alex Ferguson held clear-the-air discussions with the winger last week, and claimed in the aftermath of those talks that there was no chance the player would be leaving for Spain.
However, Real president Ramon Calderon refuses to accept that is the case and believes that the Premier League champions are trying to tempt their Spanish counterparts into upping the fee they are willing to pay.
Price

The Primera Liga outfit are thought to be prepared to part with a record-breaking 85million euros (£67.4m) in order to get their man, but no more.
"This type (of transfer) is hard," Calderon told the Spanish media, when asked about Ferguson's comments.
"But we're going to go for it all the same.
"I suppose it's all about a manner of theirs to let us know clearly that they're not going to lower the price in any way and that if we want him we have to pay a lot more money

He does, for being naive and gullible enough to believe the shite that Calderon talks. In my book, that's all he's guilty of.

Ronnie could have ended it directly after Moscow. In fact we all thought he had because he said those magic words. Then he retracted. When he says the magic words again this will all go away and Calderon will disappear in a puff of smoke. This is totally of Ronnie's making. All others are bit players. (Except God, of course, who is omnipotent and omnipresent)
