ALL Ronaldo's future/comments/speculation

So a minority of people keep saying.

But those people are under reacting imo.

i think it's just one of those things fella. To be fair with agents playig their games as well....it's not all coming from Ronnie. Though he could do alot to squash it.

If he goes, i will be dissapointed. But if he goes then i'm not concerned about our future. If madrid want to throw silly money at us, and he wants pastures new then, what can you do?

One man a team does not make.

this describes my situation as well.

i thought i'd missed something, so i went a re-read a large part of the thread since i last posted, and was shocked to see that nothing really had developed except some sort of mass hysteria.
Its very odd. Chinese whispers in internet form.

who knows what is going on behind the scenes at the moment more than likely ronnie's agent told'em to keep quite about it and wait as they are discussing his contract with united.

I understand how people want to stick up for Ronaldo after the season he has had and the fact he is our player but come on people.

The fact remains that United are saying he is not for sale and they will let him rot in the reserves, Madrid are saying there is no chance of signing him (for the moment at least) but he somehow still has a "decision" to make.

He has clearly played a role in this.

 the funny thing is he has no fecking decision to make.

Only United can ultimately decide..well for the next four or so years

Blimey, are you Mystic Meg?

That's the way I see it anyway. He's sat on the fence for long enough now. It's either us or them now. But in case you can see a different outcome please do share it with us.

At least I don't expect him to reveal that he suffers from polydactylism :D

Gill said a couple of days ago that there was no plans to discuss a new contract with him having signed one last year though. I dont know if that has changed, neither does anyone else.

Of course you do. You've added 2+2 and made 17, like the vast majority on here.

Bilbo he has not said anything that far stretched. It is quite clear to most that Ronaldo has not come off well in this situation. Therefore if you try to pretend there is no problem at all you are just as bad as the "vast majority" you talk about.

Can;t believe you're all engrossed by this.

I'm bored of this shite after the previous summers.

If he goes, he goes.

Yeah it is pretty boring. I would rather talk about this than creaming myself over players that most have not seen play more than five times like Benzema though :D

I've said the same thing many times.

I'm beyond caring. The only thing that annoys me is that people are still defending him, when he doesn't deserve it.

Anyway, whatever, I'm out of this thread, I've better things to do with my time.

prove it with video material

don't want any stolen-form-marca-and-printed-by-professional-media-like-times-quotes

until he comes out and says "I want to go", it's nothing

The only thing that annoys ME is that people are still accusing him at every given opportunity.

I know Ronaldo is well hated amongst our own fans. Sadly.

No interest.

Keep pretending there has been no problem with his conduct if you want. Im done caring.

i am certainly not defending him. nor am i accusing him. i just find it strange that people can jump on the bandwagon so easily, especially after what happened in the world cup a couple of years ago.

people should just keep their wits about them and see what develops. it's the most sensible thing to do.

If after the World Cup people had said 'he could have handled it better', I might have agreed with them. This is totally different. The lad has done nothing wrong.

Until something actually happens for real, not in the media, that suggests he is taking the club for a ride, then I can't see anything here to make me think he has done wrong by anyone.

What I highlighted in your post is what I find annoying, the lad has given some wonderful football moments and helped us more than any other in winning our last three major trophies, that alone, makes defending him deserved. He's acting like a total media whore, totally self centered and its annoying. I hope he cuts this crap soon. But to say he doesnt deserve for people to defend him is just wrong and selfish by itself. Give the lad a break, he played for us five years, same as King Eric, and has been absolutely brilliant for us, if he decides to leave, then its his decision, and we will be prepared for next season, after all we all trust Fergie, and he will get it right like he always does.

One meeting with Sir Alex would solve all of this, but Im a bit dissapointed that Ronaldo needs someone to explain to him why he should stay.

Come on Ronnie just said you wants to stay and be at United next season, what so bloody difficult about that, as for you claims of the decision to be made within the next 2 to 3 days, thought you have already decided it when you signed the 5-year contract a year ago, whats there to annouce???

Absolutely right.

Nobody should be claiming he will definitely stay, or definitely go, because nobody outside of the club knows the situation. We can only go by the facts of the situation, and right now facts are pretty thin on the ground, and almost all of them lead us to think he will be staying.

If after the World Cup people had said 'he could have handled it better', I might have agreed with them. This is totally different. The lad has done nothing wrong.

He proved a distraction to the CL final, whether the media spun it out of proportions or not. He gave answers that were open to interpretation.

We said he is not for sale, and will rot in the reserves... Madrid said buying him is not possible... Yet, Ronaldo is saying in the press he will make a decision on his future in the next 2-3 days. He has no decision to make.

Absolute best case scenario he is angling for a new contract. If so the way he has gone about it is not great and dont compare it to Ferdinand or Keane, there are differences.

He has quite obviously done some things wrong.

Now we have rumours of a Robinho swap for Ronaldo??

Looks like Real have lied to Robinho in my opinion, same opinion here http://soccerlens.com/the-truth-behind-the-robinho-ronaldo-swap-story/7676/
I believe that Ronnie wants to stay, he said he did. I also believe that his family are trying to convince him to join Real, also that Scolari guy is.

You'll be cheering just as loudly as everyone else if he bags himself a couple of goals on the opening day of the season.

If you're pissed off now, you must have been livid after the world cup situation. You actually might have had a reason to be then.

You're directing that at Fergie and CQ too I hope. They'tre as freaked as a lot of us who care about United on here. And if they're freaked what about us poor fans?

He is still very young and learning, I think we should make him the best payed player in the world with a new contract offer.

For some reason, I opened the thread (for the 1000000000000000th time today), looked at the number of pages, and just automatically chuckled.

We've just wasted half our lives on this!
Spot on.

I'm out until something new occurs. If it does.

I believe that Ronnie wants to stay, he said he did. I also believe that his family are trying to convince him to join Real, also that Scolari guy is.

last year his mum was quoted as saying that she wanted him to move to spain to be closer to her.

Dolores Aveiro revealed her passion for Los Merengues during an interview with AS at her home on the island of Madeira, describing the club as the best in the world.

In a dramatic statement, she claimed that she would not be able to rest until she had seen her son play in the all white of Madrid.

"They are my favourite team, the best in the world," she said.

"If one day he were to leave England then I would really like to see him go to Madrid."

"I would not like to die without seeing my son playing there, then I could go knowing that my dream was fulfilled."

While rumours and reports have linked Ronaldo to Madrid in the past, Dolores understands though that no transfer from Manchester United is imminent.

"Maybe he cannot go now, but perhaps in a couple of years," she continued.

"If he moved to Madrid I would go and live with him there. I love that city."

According to AS, Ronaldo's career has been guided by his mother as she advised him about his early choices and told him to go to Sporting and not Benfica.

FWIW, there's now an interview with Ronaldo on the Sports Illustrated website, published earlier today, which contains the following quotes:

World Soccer: And you're happy now at Manchester United?

Ronaldo: Of course. Everyone must know that by now.

World Soccer: How do you cope with being perpetually under scrutiny by the English media, in particular the tabloids?

Ronaldo: I've become accustomed to the stories that get made up about me. It's not an issue.

So that's promising!

Super, so the announcement is all about....................? Being happy at United?
