ALL Ronaldo's future/comments/speculation

When people comment on the slavery issue, they seem to think the amount of money Ronaldo is paid is the main issue. I think it is irrelevant in the slavery context.

Slaves are owned and are not free to leave their owners. Ronaldo, like all other footballers, is absolutely free to leave his current club. What he is not free to do is PLAY FOOTBALL FOR ANOTHER CLUB. I agree this will limit his earning ability but he is completely free to leave United, Manchester, even England. Slaves do not have that freedom.

He isn't though. He'd be in breach on contract if he didn't report for training, was unavailable for matches etc. We'd have to fine him repeatedly, or cancel his contract at which point he'd walk for free.

The contract is to unsure we pay him regularly for his services and that should a situation such as this arise that we get a good fee for the transfer of our player.

The issue for me is about Ronaldo's loyalty and his attitude throughout this. If had been man enough to simply go and chat with Fergie, state his desire face to face andhand in a transfer request then he'd have more respect from me. But the way he's behaved is nothing short of a disgrace to the club and fans.

I want him gone, I do not trust his commitment to the club, and that is key. He has shown he hasn't the desire to stay and fight for repeated success with us. He wants adulation and money, not cups and glory.

Selling him may seem like giving him what he wants but as long as we get a good deal for us then fine. We'll bring in some players who want to winthe title with us.

If Ronaldo is out injured in the beginning of our season and Nani is suspended we'll have to rely on Park and Giggs in our first two games. I think Rooney and Tevez could do an adequate job there too though.

I didn't say he was free to play for another club, I said he was free to leave United. He can walk out on United at any time. Yes, it would mean walking out on football but he is free to get a job in any other field. Slaves do not have that option.

That, to me, is the main difference between all professional footballers and slaves. The fact that Ronaldo gets paid silly money has clouded the issue.

if ronaldo was kidnapped by a european sex slave gang, i think our ronny would fast learn the difference between slavery and playing for man utd, maybe the boy doesnt quite grasp the gravity of the statment, which evidently has quickly become 'tiresome'.
:D

Sir alex needs to hire one of those fossils that live in the south and still think the civil war is going on (and/or that the south won) to show ronaldo what its really like being a slave

Yeah, I love the Barry comparison. So Calderon's doing nothing, eh? an insignificant fart? of no consequence in any of this? nor Blatter nor Platini nor the Press? Nor idiots like you? I suppose Ronnie could just come out and say he's giving an arm to us to prove to you fickle lot that he 'loves' the club, eh? Still wouldn't do it with the likes of you 'feck 'im, he's a cnut'. Tosser.

lol!

I seem to recall last summer Real making noises about signing Ronaldo, I remember Mijatovic all over the press. Know what happened? Ronnie kept his mouth shut and signed a new contract...and the story was DEAD. Now my dear fjred, contrast that with summer.

Calderon can spout as much shit as he likes...it means nothing to me, he's a nobody in my eyes who just in a temporary position of power. And for anyone to say the reason we've turned on Ronnie is solely because of Calderon really needs his head checked. Ronnie's played his part very well and for the last time HE WANTS TO MOVE! What in the hell have you been smoking?

And yes, lets look at the facts...Real have not put in a bid yet. This is not to say that they won't or can't, but you should have been a football fan long enough to understand how they work. If not, i recommend you dig up the transfers of Figo, Zidane, Ronaldo etc. they might educate you (since your are in clear need of it).

No transfer request, again see above. Like I said...Barry must not want out of Villa because of no transfer request, right? Since we're sticking to facts, this must be true.

Agreeing with Blatter's statement, while in the same interview stating, 'everyone knows what I want' in regards to Madrid and your still don't think its disrespectful? If Ronnie's not being disrespectful for that, then neither is Blatter and Calderon.

You my friend are a Ihni binni dimi diniwiny anitaime and i'm through with you...

what position does ronaldo play for mabchester united???...last season he came from the wings to basically be a striker...

well if ronaldo leaves united he'll loose out on money on his nike contract, he'll loose out on money from audi, he'll loose out on money from every direction...for the first year or two he won't make as much money as he could make

Whilst I think it's sad that he's going, and I'm almost certain with what he's been saying that he does want to go and most likely is off, I still don't understand why United fans are acting quite so wounded.

Most seem to be saying that they're only angry because of the games he's playing, and if he'd come out and said he wants to go they'd accept that and thank him for the good times. But that's clearly shite, because now he has come out and said he wants to leave he's getting stick for that.

Basically, half of you children are furious not because of the way he's acting, but because he wants to leave full stop.

Of course it is both. BUT its the way he wants to leave with is making me pissed. He wants to have his cake and eat it. He wants United to initiate selling him so he can keep his bonuses he will lose if he puts in a transfer request. If he puts in a transfer request, that will put an end to a lot of this angsting. Real are also instigating him to force United by putting the club through this turmoil because it will also save them a few bucks.

PS: When can we start fining him? :smirk:

:D

Perfect present day example.

120k / week, playing football, fans screaming your name, holidays e.t.c.

OR

Imprisonment, threats against your family back at home if you consider escape, beatings, rape, customers or should i say accomplices of the gangs and pimps who care not at all for anyone but themselves. Oh and a drug addiction that is used like chains to take awya their independence and humanity.

Blatter is a fecking idiot ;mad: who should know better, Cristiano more likely is so narrow minded right noo that he sees nothing beyond this transfer saga, a quite amazing level of ignorance and stupidity.

However were he to stay at United we would i am sure try and mend some bridges,. Madrid wouldn't give a crap IMO. Ronaldo could be taken to talk with freed victims of modern forms of slavery. Or become a patron or figurehead of an organisation like http://www.omid-e-mehr.org/

There are means of redemption.

Cristiano Ronaldo ordered to return to Man Utd on July 28

Sir Alex Ferguson has ordered Cristiano Ronaldo to return to Manchester United in two weeks to finally put an end to the ongoing saga surrounding his future.
Fergie was said to be furious at Ronaldo agreeing with FIFA chief Sepp Blatter that the United winger had been treated like a slave by his club, for not allowing him to complete his dream move to Real Madrid - who intended to unveil him on July 7.
United embark on a 10-day preseason tour of South Africa next Thursday and return on July 28, the day Fergie wants Ronaldo back at their Carrington training base for clear-the-air talks.
Although Ronaldo will not be able to join in pre-season training after undergoing ankle surgery, Fergie wants him under his wing to begin his recuperation and end the circus surrounding his future. United have lost patience with Ronaldo and took exception to his claim that he had been treated like a modern-day slave.

Despite United's firm stance, Ronaldo's desire to join Real is stronger than ever following an interview on Portuguese TV in which he admitted he wanted a fresh challenge. He refused to pledge his future to the Reds.
There is a belief among the United hierarchy that getting Ronaldo back to Manchester as soon as he is able to begin his rehab would go a long way to ending the destabilising effect of the constant speculation concerning where he will be playing next season.

Love it. So we're back to two weeks again?!

Damn right too, we possibly should have demanded this much earlier. I still think it very unlikely, but it seems less far fetched in recent days that he might actually refuse to travel back. That'd be interesting

I hope Ferguson gives him the absolute roasting of his life

I love that SAF/United are not doing any talking at this stage.

SAF made it clear before that Ronaldo was not for sale. Nothing has changed, so there's no need to keep reiterating the same thing. Let everyone else get themselves worked up about it. When it comes down to it the ball is still firmly in United's court and nothing anyone else says or does can change that. Let Blatter make a fool of himself, let Madrid waste their time, and let Ronaldo stew in limbo. They can kick up a fuss about it all they want, but United WILL NOT accept any offer.

Well said mate even my cat got a shock when I told him Ronaldo agreed with Blatter that he was being treated like a slave.

Oh, that's sad. Such a friendship as well. Before you go, has either of 'em gone yet? To be fair, Barry is the more likely, but no, I don't think they've gone.

You read it your way and I'll read it mine. But the ability to post pictures on here proves no form of perception.

What if he had the ability to edit your posts fjred? Would that prove he was a real man? Or just a sexual repressed closet case who longs for attention (naming no Mehro's... I mean names)

Former Fans-Favourite Urges Ronaldo Respect

Sammy Mcllroy, who accrued over 300 appearances for Manchester United during the 1970s, believes Ronaldo should declare his intentions or risk disrespecting the club.

Cristiano Ronaldo has dominated the headlines so far this summer; not because of his wing-wizardry, rather his inability to express where he wishes his future lie. Real Madrid have oft stated that now they have made public their admiration for him, it is up to the Portuguese international to return the respect, if he wishes to join up with the rest of the Real squad in the Santiago Bernabeu.

Former Old Trafford and fans-favourite forward Sammy Mcllroy has spoken out amidst Ronaldo’s summer transfer saga, he is quoted in the Belfast Telegraph: “Ronaldo needs to make a decision. He needs to either say 'yes I am staying' or 'sorry, I'm off'. Some would say he is being disrespectful to the club. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but I just want it sorted so we can move on and Sir Alex [Ferguson] can replace him if he goes.”

The former Northern Ireland player, and later manager, reminded fans of Ferguson’s loyalty to his players: "Fergie stood by him after his bust-up with Wayne Rooney at the World Cup and I feel that he owes Manchester United a lot. After all, the club has looked after him and helped make him the player he is. But this story has been going on far too long and we want it resolved now."

Mcllroy, since retiring as a player, has gone on to manage Northern Ireland, Northwich Victoria, Macclesfield Town, before making a return to Northern Ireland, and moving onto Stockport County. He is currently head coach at Morecambe.

The only thing this thread confirms is a large degree of Calderon pleasing, thoughtless, lemming type lunacy! 'Sell 'im, he's a cnut'

All due respect to you and all but as much as one faction in here have been extreme in over-reacting to the signs and developments throught this, you in my experience have been the opposite, seemingly not able to accept that anything is occurring here at all.

The better, is to have your eyes open and an on the whole ;), level head. Not to be screwing them up as tight as they will go so as to be near blind, and not to be in some trance like state of hatred frothing at the mouth.
