ALL Ronaldo's future/comments/speculation

Well then I give off the wrong impression. I'm United 'through and through', that doesn't mean I should have to agree with Ronaldo being a cnut.
Yet to be seen.

I read it, and I understand, but football is different to women.
Yep, football's far more emotional. My wife is jealous of my love for United.

Because Tevez loves Boca, he is seen as loyal. Yet when Ronaldo declares his love for Real Madrid, his favourite team, he gets berated for it.
He's going to let us know in a couple of days then!?

By the same token, we were perfectly happy to accept Rooney and Hargreaves here even though they did the exact same thing at their clubs, saying they loved that specific club but then leaving them for us.
No comparison. Hargreaves stated his preference but still continued to give his all to Bayern. We just kept offering Bayern money. Within the rules. And Hargreaves didn't create a media circus. He said what he wanted to do and did it.
Rooney had a major bust up with Moyes. End of deal.

Ronaldo is not and will not be United at heart, that is fact. But it doesn't bother me as much as it bothers other people.
If he fecks about with us we'll feck about with him. End of.

We would not have done the double without him.

That;s not to say we will never win it again if he leaves. But we just can't start belittling his contribution if he leaves.
Who knows? Pointless discussing.

No ones belittling his contribution. He was the best player in the World this last year and he was playing for us. So what?
What's going on right now is he is belittling the fans contribution.

without Ronaldo? (feel free to move to the Ronaldo thread if necessary...)

1. If you took Ronaldo out of the current squad, do you think we would still be favourites to win the league next year? Could we retain the European Cup?

How important is Ronaldo to our success?

2. Assuming we had plenty of cash, is there any realistic transfer target or more than one which we could bring in to make up for losing him?

3. Is there anyone else who we couldn't cope without?

I think we'd need a striker to replace his goals as I don't see where they'd come from (where have I heard that before? :D), but a top class striker with anderson rooney and tevez behind would imo leave us at a similar strength.

All this focus on ronaldo may be detrimental to the team long term anyway so maybe it'll be for the best if he does decide to go, we're in a very strong bargaining position and could milk real for every penny they've got

No-one thinks that or ever will think that any one player is bigger than the club. The fact is we are going through a great period of success and Ronaldo leaving would certainly halt that.

No-one knows what would have happened, but as I said before he saved us on a few occasions yet right now people are neglecting everything he has done for us just because he is a media whore.
Why do you keep coming out with that shit?

Yet to be seen.

Yep, football's far more emotional. My wife is jealous of my love for United.

He's going to let us know in a couple of days then!?

So he says, wait and see instead of condemning him to Satan.

Oh yes, I forgot that once Ronaldo stated their interest in Ronaldo that Ronaldo just decided to stop trying for us, if he was really trying he would've scored 62 goals. Hargreaves didn't create a media circus because he is not a media icon.
Rooney had a bust up because he wanted to leave the club he loved, similar situation.

If he fecks about with us we'll feck about with him. End of.

Fine.

Why do you keep coming out with that shit?

Why, are you saying it's wrong? We took over a year to recover from losing Keane/him becoming less influential. It seems like we would do the same once Ronaldo leaves because he is currently our most important player.

Clearly not everyone's favourite player though.

Ronaldo > United. Here we go again.........I see a trend here.

The trend is you are bringing up the same arguments and I have proved them to be misleading.

BahamaRed loves Ronaldo.

Boca made Tevez. Him wanting to go there and give his all is before he's past it is admirable, as he's doing it for the sheer love of the club that gave him his first opportunity in football, in front of his home fans. There's really no other incentive, cos he certainly won't be getting a pay rise.

If Ronaldo had stated that he wanted to leave for Sporting Lisbon before he peaked, I don't think as many would be disgruntled. I don't think he loves Madrid, but wants to play in Spain. Having said that, I think many accept the fact that Ronaldo wants to play in Spain, but are more annoyed about him miliking it in the media, with his "You'll know in 2-3 days crap".

if we decided to keep him and he's not happy lets let him rot on the bench like the glazer's said they wouldn't mind doing to any player that they don't want to sell...http://football365.com/story/0,17033,8652_3635191,00.html

Ferguson claims the Glazers are equally unimpressed with Real and says they would keep the player even if a hypothetical situation arose where he refused to play for United.

The Scot said: "I've had a couple of meetings with the Glazers.

"Their attitude is, 'To hell with them'. They'd sit a player in the stand, I'm telling you, absolutely no doubt about it, just to prove a point. Not to give in to these people.

"They've got balls, I can tell you. I've been delighted with them in that respect."

The Glazers took over United in an £800million deal in the summer of 2005. Their arrival caused huge ructions among fans due to the debt they placed on the club.

Ferguson, however, has been delighted with the support of the Americans since their regime began.

"They've been good to this club, believe me," he added. "They have been brilliant owners."

You've proved something, but definitely not that.

Is that story for real? Why would he say one thing then have his godfather of all people say something different.

He said a few weeks ago he dreams of playing in Spain. Why is that not as big a deal as Ronaldo saying the same?
2 or 3 weeks? 2 or 3 days? He'll make a decision then!? What on earth has that to do with Tevez. Last quote I heard from Tevez is that he wanted to stay with us a loooong time.

We have not paid a fee for Tevez yet we have only had him a year. We have had Ronaldo for 5 years we took a chance on him and we stood by him. There is a big difference.

But I have no grudge against him though to be honest because if I was playing in Spain and it was my dream to play for United or in England I would say the exact same things he is saying.

“Maybe one day I will play in the Spanish league but there’s a long way to go,” he said.

“At the moment I am happy here.

“I know that many South Americans prefer to play in Italy or Spain when they move to Europe, but I am very happy to have come here.

“It is the best league in the world and here I am with some of the best footballers in the world.”

Ronaldo has already said, 'I stay' and laughed at the guy who asked i.e. what a question. Fergie and the Glazers are concerned about Madrid's tactics and told 'em to shut the feck up. This is about Madrid, not Ronaldo. He's in no position to make any decision at all, it's press bollocks. He's contracted for 4 years more and, believe me, they'll keep Ronaldo in the reserves before they let Madrid succeed. It's a power play with a lot at stake. for Real, read if it was Chelsea or Arsenal or the Heinze crap last summer. Not a chance they'll get him. Even if he wants to go, he won't be let. If he wants to keep playing, he stays at OT for the moment. Fair enough in 3 years.

thats a stupid attitude if he wants to go

lets get as much money as possible from madrid and continue building our great side, ronaldo isn't the team and he isn't the only reason for our success

His replacement in a year or two's time if he leaves will be Anderson. He'll be driving our team shortly.

......and?......didn't you see the first words?.....you know, replying to what you said...that's what this is all about, not Tevez.

but if we sell Ronaldo to Madrid, what message does that send to potential targets that we sign. the message we would send is one that Manchester united is a stepping stone club to clubs in Spain...and also that if a player wants to move we will oblige and let them move

I can't be arsed to find the quotes but he said he wanted a long contract and could see himself being with us for a long period.

There is more than a loss of our best player. It would be a message to other clubs that we cant hold or retain our best players and it would mean that Real will come for our amazing players everytime they want.

If you cant keep your best players then what message do you send? Look at Milan that kept Kaka and got through the same shit we are now.

The difference is Kaka never put a doubt over his future and we are still involved in speculations over Ronaldo's future.

Whatever happens i trust in the club and know they have what it takes to handle this situation, it isnt the first one and wont be the last.

That doesn't change the fact that what Tevez said is almost exactly what Ronaldo said. The only reason it is different is because he gets asked over and over again and then it gets made out to be something its not. He knows how to play the media, and while he seems to think that is alright it is fair to say he isn't being fair to us.

tap tap.....helloooo

I wouldn't call something along the lines of "let him rot in the reserves rather than selling" obliging.

I don't think it'll play a part in the mind of potential signings either. South American players and the majority of Portuguese players perhaps want to play in Spain, as it's similar to their culture. Because of that they feel Madrid are the best team in the world. If a player has any sense and wants to win things however, they know they're more likely to do so here.

Player power is immense now, if the player wants to go, there's often not a great deal the club can do about it.

Unfortunately, that's spot on.

Right, so he's wrong to say in two or three days I'll tell the world that I just signed a contract with the best team in Europe? I can bet you he comes out and says, I'm staying.

"2 or 3 weeks"
"2 or 3 days"

Exactly. Never mind the fact that comparing Ronaldo who United have shaped and molded since 17 to Tevez who just arrived as a nearly finished product is pointless.

please do not talk sense here, it's weird

What as opposed to a dead, dry vagina?

don't knock it till you've tried it.
