The fact that we've got Nani comforts me somewhat should we lose Cristiano

As it's been said before, even if he does sign a new conract, I think his standing with the Majority of United fans has been harmed.

It's like you have a massive fall out with your girlfriend after she's been flirting with another feller. You stay together but's it's not the same, you just don't fully trust or believe her anymore. All she had to say was, no thanks, I'm very happy with boyfriend. End of story

lmao, drama queen

How many professional footballers nowadays are 100% loyal?

Rio has been IMMENSE this season. I don't hear anyone bringing up his drugs ban and contract saga anymore.

Not everyone is a Paul Scholes, deal with it.

I could get over flirting, its when she starts saying that she quite fancies the bloke across teh road and will shack up with him one day, maybe soon, that you have to start worrying...

 Nice metaphor continuation.

good point.

Stupidest analogy ever... we employ him to play football, not feck him :wenger:

but if you were being cheeky then nice one :smirk:

If he does leave the transfer forum will explode. We'll be linked with every possible player, every hour of every day.

Jesus christ.

That's exactly it. If Fergie even gets a whiff that Ronaldo is serious about leaving, he will first try to do all he can to convince him, but if he has a feeling that it isn't going to work out, he's probably already drafted up a list of names. So far we've heard nothing which is always a good sign.

This again is the problem with Ronaldo fans as apposed to United fans. When I tell the truth you get personal.

So you don't think he's done wrong ? He could have stopped all this shit by telling Madrid to feck off. What ever he does now, he's shown he's out for himself and not bothered how he upsets all his fans and what he puts them through.

I've never booed a United player in my 50 odd years of supporting United. Wouldn't start now.
If you look back on here I've been Ronnie's greatest fan.....going as far as saying he's the best player I've ever seen.
We, as fans, don't deserve this.

That's alright then.

I would like to think he would be cheered even if he left us, he single-handedly won us the Premier League, and played a big part in last years triumph as well as this years Champions League win.

But every fan has differing opinions.

possible scenarios:

1. Best- Ronaldo stays, and all the Madrid rumors prove to be nothing but. We still have our top player (and cnut) for another season.

2. Ronaldo insists on a move and sent to play for the reserves for 2 seasons.

3. Ronaldo fecks off to Madrid and we get shitload of money for him.

4. Worst- Ronaldo is offered a new contract, 12 months into his previous one. Having cnuts in the side is one thing, but having them blackmailing the club every summer is much worse.

I highly doubt Ronaldo would be blackmailing SAF into doing anything, he may be good but SAF would never put up with that.

The best player in the world deserves the best contract in the world, SAF said he is the best player in the world.

we won titles before ronaldo , we will after him

might tweak the style of play a bit .. a target man with rooney .. nani/park /giggs and a new winger ..

anderson carrick hargreaves scholes in the middle and the best defense in the league , if not europe .. we will have a chance

it might take time to get used to a new style of play .. it usually does .. but the team plays around ronaldo because we have him and he is in form , not because the others arent good enough

i'd love him to stay , or atleast get a huge amount for him ... so that we can get a class striker and maybe a quality winger too and still make a profit

This thread reads like a who's who of wankers.

Rio did the same. In fact what he did was worse.

Yeap. Ronnie's the best player in the world, we have to make him the best paid one as well. That's a no brainer. Even Milan have Kaka on 130k when no one else at their club is even above the 100k mark.

I wouldn't boo him, but I wouldn't cheer him either. I'd treat him like an ex who fecked me over.

If Ronaldo doesn't want the best contract in the world at United, then he can feck off as far as I'm concerned.

He is irreplacable, but no one player is bigger than United.

Rio did the same. In fact what he did was worse.

He didn't blackmail him into giving him a contract though, he needed to have a contract renewed because it was running down. Ronaldo already has 4 years on his contract so it is more of a reward for his performances than him saying "Give me a new contract or I'm off to Madrid"

You forgot...

5. The Martians come and blow the feck out of all of us

That was different though because.....well errrrr.......he was Keano.

What makes this looks worse is the fact that about 1000 news agencies are reporting a new story everyday.

Exactly. And I don't blame Ronaldo in wanting a better contract, as you've said he's the best player in the world and knows his value.

That is absolute rubbish and a terrible insult to our other great players. I expect that bullshit from opposition fans, but not from United fans.

He was seen with Kenyon. As I said, it was worse, considering the drugs ban. The man showed no humility at all.

I didn't say he's done nothing wrong, but some people here act like crusaders in their comfy armchairs, claiming they would "tell Madrid to feck off" and be "United 4 life". He will never tell Madrid off, why would he burn his own bridges? Nothing in life is certain anymore, and moreso now that we have owners who can influence decisions. Loyal servants like Ryan Giggs and Gary Neville can come out a thousand times to say they want to retire here, but if Glazer wants them off the wage bill, they're out. where would they go? Sure they could probably find another club easily, but would Real Madrid still go for them if they told them to feck off?

I'm not sure what is going on behind the scenes and like everyone else, I can only give an educated guess based on what the media feed us. I agree that Ronaldo would do us all a big favor if he just came out and said he wanted to stay, but look at Henry. He came out to "assure" the fans he's going to sign his last contract at Arsenal and also relieve them of the pain of losing the CL final, then fecks off the next year. Assurances mean nothing nowadays, it's just a false sense of security. That's why I think it's delusional to expect Ronaldo to give us assurances. Ever since the day he signed for us, I knew he was a glory hound and extremely ambitious. He plays football to win, but more importantly for his own glory. Fortunatley under the guidance of SAF he's learned to play for the team as well, but deep down he stills put himself ahead of the club.

However, based on what has happened so far, he has come out with similar comments in similar sagas in the last two years but he's made the right decisions so far and stayed put. So based on that I have a little more faith in him than most. But if he did leave, I'm sure SAF has already drafted Plan B.

The issue is that most new signings take at least half a season to settle into the team. That said, i think our squad as it is would win the pl without him. Tevez and rooney would like to split ronaldos shots between themselves.

That is absolute rubbish and a terrible insult to our other great players. I expect that bullshit from opposition fans, but not from United fans.

Fine, that was an exaggeration to get my point across. He should be shown a lot more respect for his contributions over these past two seasons though.

Manchester United > Ronaldo but that doesn't mean just because he is an arrogant cnut we should tell him to feck off to Madrid.

I wouldn't boo him, but I wouldn't cheer him either. I'd treat him like an ex who fecked me over.

Even if he net us like £70m?

Although, if he suddenly announced that he's decided to leave in the next two days completely out of the blue, I probably wouldn't cheer him either. If he wants to leave, he should ease it to the fans, not make them wait and then slam the news in their faces..
