A bit like the Brazilian one?

The thing is, until we know something for definite, nothing has changed.

True, though I didn't believe that Brazilian story at all, this somehow seems much more believable, though that might just be because of it all happening simultaneously (Ballague and this Portugese interview)

No 'I told you so's please, not really the time...

Ronaldo in being a cnut shocker.

No offence to most people on the caf, but it's funny how many laughed and critisised me when I dared to call him a cnut after the world cup due to his disgraceful behaviour and comments.

The lads at it again.

The best player in the world but his behaviour has tainted the 2nd greatest season in our history. Whenever we look back at Ronaldos goals we're going to remember the aftermath. I hope he goes, thefans and Fergie deserve better than this. Utter cock. Goodbye.

Quite possibly.

Best thing to do is just wait for something official. And IF he does go, we'll move on, like we always do.

Anyone wants to bet he's staying?

Really good odds on Betfair for that. 3.3 or something, whereas him going is at 1.1. So most people, I guess, are fairly certain he's off.

And on a side note: I hope he knows that he's at least partly responsible for the tarnishing of one of our greatest ever seasons. I know the media are also to blame, because they're really riling this whole thing up for everyone's amusement, but the fact is that he could have quelled the rumours if he had so wished.

And, if he does go, then whenever people look back at our historic double and see how many goals he scored, and how important he was, they'll always be left with a bitter taste because they know what came next.

Well its gonna be really really hard without him. He's the top man.

I've sat through the hysterical shite reporting on Sky round a mates house accepting the worse. Came home to the Caff expecting concrete proof the lad was moving on.....haven't seen it yet! What the feck is going on? Has Ronaldo actually stated his Premiership days are over? This is starting to do my nut in.

I just saw this. Ronaldo is leaving, almost official. He said that his dream will come true. Get as much money as possible imo. Even Ronaldo is not worth 50 million imo

That's bullshit. Zidane joined them for 46 million at the age of 29. Ronaldo is worth way more then that.

Are you nuts?? if the likes of hargreaves and carrick cost 18 mil then ronnie is undoubtedly worth that and more. who do you replace him with? ive watched the euros and the options are few and far between.

Woah Guus is back, cool.

What about all the comments from the Glazers etc saying they will not sell even as far as to talk about "rotting in the reserves" etc

Had to come back after i heard.

Not alot has changed. Lets see what ronnie is saying after a face to face with fergie.

Are we feck.

What the hell is your problem. Lets assume the worst and the guy wants to leave....he's come to the club given his all, won us numerous trophies and now wants to leave to a club that basically he grew up loving....is he trying to get off on a free...erm no.....we'll get a ridiculously good deal. and he's insisting the clubs reach an agreement.

So in summation you want to write off everything he's done for us because he wants a move?? Pathetic in my opinion and you are the cnut.

I imagine things will go like this:

Ronaldo will in 2-3 days announce his desire to leave United
A couple of hours later we'll see a statement from United repeating their original statement about not selling Ronaldo
Then there'll be a lot of crap in the media, and Ronaldo will eventually stay.

Well its gonna be really really hard without him. He's the top man.

It wouldn't be easy, but we'd manage. Just like we did when Cantona, Beckham, Stam, Ruud et al left.....We have more than enough quality in our team.

It must thrill you to be vindicated, does it?

No it doesn't

Manchester United is the most important thing. He's the best player in the world but in what other circumstances would you propose we kept a player if his heart wasn't in it? It's madness. He's messed the club around, the millions of united fans around the world, and most upsettingly I feel, Fergie too.

He obviously made his decision to go a long time ago. He's just been toying with us whilst the negotiations with Real have been taking place.

Those still toying with the idea Ronaldo has any intentions of staying even for one more Season are thinking with their hearts, and not their minds.

I've stuck with this position from my very first post on this thread. The sooner he gets going the better. I am sure SAF, and his coaching staff will have planned for this inevitability for a long time.

Sniejder, Robinho, Ramos and some cash will do nicely.

There's ways of going about getting a move and releasing information saying he wants to stay, then contradicting it, then keeping people waiting isn't a good way to treat people associated with the club. It's utter Bullshit.

I actually Ronaldo is what gives us the edge over the other top teams in europe. So its not really simple if it happened in the near future.

I would replace him with Quaresma and buy a proper striker, fullback and may be make a cheeky bid for Ronaldinho

the problem is that Real Madrid will never let Robinho, Sneijder and Ramos go in the same deal, crazy idea that

If he is desperate to go then fine. Get in Arshavin and potentially a young up and comer and I think we will be ok. However it's all up to Ferguson, is he back from France yet?

Well its gonna be really really hard without him. He's the top man.

If he leaves, he leaves. Manchester United will move on and find some other player to take his place he might not be as good but Ferguson as always will come out tops.

Agreed, but I'm not suggesting any of that. I just don't think dragging up an old thread in new circumstances is the proof of his cuntishness that you seem to think it is.

Sniejder, Robinho, Ramos and some cash will do nicely.
We'd be laughing with that deal if Ronaldo actualy does want to leave. Most of this player + cash transfer is all paper bollocks so far. I reckon Fergie would want all cash do spend it as he pleased. Unless he really wanted someone from Madrid.

With or without Ronaldo, we are still better than probably every other team out there. Add in 4 or 5 new players and we'll be fine.

Thing is, what people don't seem to realise is that £50million won't buy us all that much.

Say, for example, that Benzema or Berbatov would normally cost us £25-30million. Now Lyon and Tottenham are hearing about a £50million windfall on our part and suddenly demanding £40million isn't such a silly thing to do.

Their position of not wanting to sell to us remains the same, but we've got much more money than before and they're in the position to demand it.

Lets see what ronnie is saying after a face to face with fergie.

That's an hugely important point. Last time Ronaldo wanted to leave Ferguson changed his mind The fans might want Ronaldo to go now but the manager is the one in charge and it will be a huge come down for Ferguson if he was to sell Ronaldo.

Do you agree the Starting XI will be weakened no matter who we bring in? You don't play with fifteen players you play with eleven. Thats the main idea here, mate.

Spot on, a point i meant to raise but forgot to because im SEETHING.

No

Ronaldo will announce his wish to move.

United will say he has a contract, and his not for sale, whilst negotiating with Madrid.

Players always get their wish.

In the short term, of course it'll be weakened. However, I truly believe it would still be stronger than any other teams Starting XI.

We'd have to change our approach...attempting to bring someone in as a direct replacement wouldnt work because who gets goals from deep like him??

we may see a return to classic 442 with 2 strikers!! who knows, I just think there is a long to go yet on this

Nani will play in his place. It will probably take him most of the season to bed in properly, but I think he can be 70% of what Ronaldo gave us from the wing. The manager gets paid the big bucks to deal with this sort of thing. I'm sure he'll work his usual magic and keep us at the top.

Daniel Alves

He made it very clear that he wanted to leave - he stayed for another season because Sevilla didn't want to sell.

This really is thought out, quaresma is not fit to lace ronnie's boots

Sure he is, he's been misused as a player. Back in Sporting days, Ronaldo was lacing Quaresma's boots. He's shown a good player in the Euros, and I'm sure Fergie would sort out any attitude problems he might have and whip him into shape
