bayern were saying the same thing about hargreaves with regards to us.

That's not true, it was actually Hargreaves himself who talked the most to the media. We simply persisted with bids and eventually worked a deal out. What Madrid doing is ridiculous, they're using the media to tap him up, luring him with contract offers and hinting for him to hand in a transfer request.

I can't quite believe some of the comments in the match thread, posters laughing specifically at him, looking forward to seeing him crying and telling him to feck off. Just Madness.

I made a comment earlier in this thread that I don't think any United fan hates him, obviously I was wrong

Might hear something this evening then, if he can hold back the tears, poor sod. Wonder if he realizes that this is how it will be if he fks off to Madrid

I don't think any United fans hate him. Some (like me) are just disappointed with his behaviour and lack of commitment to the club. Even if he does stay with United for another couple of years, his behaviour over the summer will still linger in some fans' minds and he will not be as popular as he used to be, because eventually he will leave.

Germany 3 - Portugal 1.

Yesss!!

I remember laughing at people who kept slagging off this thread saying they wont post in it then going to post in silly transfer rumour threads about a player who has no association with the club. Posts like this are just pathetic though and show what is wrong with some posters and parts of this thread. To think I have quite a few posts in here.

BahamaRed is excluded from my thoughts on this of course :)

I don't think he'll say anything for a while. Originally saying that he'd talk about his future after the European Championships was only a way of stalling. I wouldn't expect anything too soon.

I didn't either, some of the comments in the other thread suggest otherwise.

I agree with you on your second point, I'm as disappointed as anyone, but to actually 'hate' a United player is wrong. I can totally understand people being disappointed and angry, but to actually hate a current United player? That's just wrong in my book.

I don't think we should be hating any player, no matter who they play for, especially United players.

But to be fair to the guy, he has achieved everything with United and as an ambitious young man he is looking for a new challenge. And Real is an opportunity that is pretty hard to resist.

And as for United, if Real is willing to throw 70m, I say its a good deal because no one is worth that kind of money.

According to Real he is worth 500m!!

It's not about a new challenge, it's about his family supporting madrid growing up and him and/or his family dreaming of him putting on the white filthy scummy madrid shirt. It's not about new challenges.

congratulations on your geographical fortune that obviously puts you head and shoulders in loyalty over every red except those that live within 4 miles of OT.

Jasonrh is one of the top posters on here and talks more sense than most. His location does not take away from his opinion or right to express it. when are we goin to give up this tired 'how close are you to OT' bullshit. its schoolyard nonsense. United are a global club and belong to everyone regardless of location or ability to get there every other week

It was a smart arse answer to his being 15 miles from cnut central. Jog on.

Now Cristiano, perhaps you could be so kind as to find your bloody voice and for the good of us all, reveal your plans.

Some people hate, some people "don't like"...it's all very amusing stuff and when you break it down both = bullshit.

As soon as Ronaldo say he's wants to stay we can move on from this stupidity.

Nothing wrong in Ronnie wanting to play for the team he supported. He has delivered for us and should he really leave us, his sale will bring us a ton of cash. And we can use the cash to buy new players, reduce our debts etc etc. Life goes on.

Either way, United will come out as winners.

I never said there was anything wrong in him wanting to play for the team his family or he supported as a kid.
As for your last sentence, we'd be much more "winners" if we kept a hold of him rather than selling him.

come on Roonie just stay whether you want to stay or leave now, stop keeping us guessing.

He was happy to sign only last year for five year - extending it to 2012. We won the league, champions league, he scored 42 goals, he won nearly every award and he should be recognised later in the year with more. There is nothing to be unhappy with

The new challenge talk, is ultimately bollocks. At United, their are always new challenges. We want to surpass liverpools record in the league. We want to win more European titles etc
