ALL issues relating to the bond issue and club finances

There's a lot of folk on here going on about paying off the piks to save money, which I can't understand.

Am I right in thinking that pik loans are only taken out, at very high interest rates, because other lenders see the risk as too high to lend at normal rates?

So the lender is taking a substantial risk, but in return gets much higher interest rates.

Well if the piks are paid off early to save the borrower interest, then all very well for the borrower, but the lender will have taken the risk and not got the reward.

Hence I don't think the piks can be paid off early, not without paying a shedload in penalties anyway, otherwise these loans don't make sense.

Probably correct although without seeing the exact terms we will not know for sure.

Why would he be kidding cider, do you know what the terms of the piks are?

Most loans have early redemption fee's especially the higher risk/rate deals.

One other question. Why would The PL approve the sale of the club know that an interest rate of 14.5% would not be a good think. It also sets a precedent for other leveraged take overs.

Why is the bond costing 14.5%? That seems why out of wack.

The Bond isn't costing 14.5%. The Bond Interest is around 8%.

The Glazers personal debts (the PIKs) are currently attracting 16.25% though and that's why they're a pain in the arse cos no one knows what they hell they plan to do about them but they are secured against the assets of United and rolling up at a stupid rate.

The 14.5% deal wasn't part of the financing back then.

i think when it comes to having to pay off the PIK's we could find ourselfs in a big big mess, lets hope bill gates buys us

Just leave our fecking club malcolm...

This is a big joke, a big big joke.

Why can't Sir Alex or Gill go out against them? Just support the "fantastic Glazer family" all the time, getting sick of it.

Because SAF and Gill aren't clueless twonks who believe everything they read in the paper? Just saying like.

They are both very well paid by the Glazers. Fergie only has a couple of years left so these will be the last owners he has to work with and Gill is just your typical bland two-faced suit liar.

It's a joke really that we are owned by the Glazer family. They have all the power and we can't do anything to stop it. They still got the power after five years of ownership and can keep fecking our club just how much they want..

I think this is another case of "The Glazers made VDS drop that ball today because of their money-grubbing ways".

Tiresome, isn't it?

Poor start to the season; it's all the Glazers fault! Why doesn't SAF stand up to them?!

Erm , well, probably because he's not been brainwashed into blaming everything wrong with the world on the Glazers?

Once again we should have won but lost concentration and then showed no spirit in response; it's got feck all to do with the Glazers.

It has nothing to do with today, just look back and you will find post from me after winning games as well.
Glazer is ruining our club, and if you can't see that then i'm sorry.

That's right. I don't know about you but I go around my house fecking up everything in it every day. It all cost me a fortune to buy but I just feck it all up anyway because I can.

This laptop is my next target. It will mean that I can't make any money (because I run an online business) but I'm going to feck it up anyway - just because I can. That'll teach me.

Sorry to hear that, hope it works out. Don't ruin your laptop tho, that would be stupid.

You're learning fast my friend. Now keep going with that train of thought and you might understand why the Glazers don't actually want to feck up the thing they own.
I think they want the best for United, but it's the debt I hate. How can our club have this much in debt when we were one of the richest clubs in 2003.

We all hate the debt but we are still one of the richest clubs in the world (I think we make the 3rd largest amount of money in the world of football - behind Real and Barca).

Unlike them though, we have £164million CASH in the bank at last count.

The situation is not all rosy but it is nowhere near as bad as some would have you believe.

By conservative accounts, Fergie should have at least £50-60m to spend on players next summer (he actually had roughly that THIS summer but chose not to spend it for some reason).

the site for proper reds,

No accountants
No Americans
No cockneys
No-one called Glazer
No one called Cider
no cnuts
no JCL'S
no part-timers (like Cider)
No OOT's
No people burying their head in the sand whilst the club goes tits up.

That site is full of complete and utter fecking morons. It's our version of RAWK.

We don't have any cash in the bank, the Glazers do, and they can do what the feck they want with it.

If you're interested in our debt then have a read through this thread, there're loads of discussions about it.

First learn about the situation, then judge it.

You keep making this simplistic point in various condescending ways.

Hicks and Gillet fecked up their club deliberately, I presume.

I think that there's more to that situation than meets the eye. I watched the Hicks interview yesterday and I think that some of what he was saying rings true - there was something of a conspiracy going on against them.

As he also said, they provided the money for transfers, Rafa just bought a pile of shit. They finished second in the League the other season but were just appalling last season - how was that Hicks and Gillet's fault?

Anyway, the difference between Hicks and Gillet and the situation with the Glazers is totally different though.

Apologies if my response to Man-United was simplistic. There are thousands of pages of discussion on this thread if he chooses to read them for a fuller account of the situation.

As for condescending. I suppose I was but he hardly came along with a well-reasoned argument supporting his own viewpoint either, did he?

What do you mean, part timer? I've supported United since i was old enough to know what United was.

Am i correct in believing that you live in Kent?

Very predictable response unfortunately. This is when all the misleading propaganda spread by MUST et al has an affect. Not that it matters a great deal in the grand scheme of things. The Glazers will remain the owners and Fergie will sort out the issues that need to be resolved on the pitch.
